      Thanks Gonz! Yes, my wife loves the Ford Edge. She's on her 3rd one, 2nd ST model. Hallman Autogroup has 2 Ford stores, so we kept it in the family. I tried to get her into a RS Blazer...I have to admit the Edge ST is fast and a blast to drive.

    It would be nice if the pedal monster was integrated as a single unit into the tuner .

      Will any of those products tell you when the truck is about to regen? Or any sort of monitor on soot level? I can’t find it on my 2020 LP5, nothing in the dash or center screen has regen or soot level

    I have the Derringer, Ram Air and Pedal monster installed on my 2017. Banks offers a great product for the money. The only negative I have experienced is increased soot levels resulting in more re-gens.

      I'll have to pay attention to this truck to see the difference in regens. Appreciate the feedback!

    I’ve got a stock 2019 L5P Duramax and have been wondering if it’s really worth the money to add the Banks Derringer and the Ram Air filter and housing.
    I tow a HEAVY camper and there’s been a couple of times I’ve needed more power, like at the on ramp of the interstate.
    We normally tow about 300 -350 miles for fishing/camping.
    Is that set up going to destroy my mpg ? Or will it help it ?
    More power always equals more fuel.
    Also, does it cause the dpf to plug up sooner as your burning more fuel and oil making the increased power and torque.
    I’m somewhat new to the diesel engines so I am honestly looking for real answers.
    And hey, I’m NOT new to being married, let her keep that win bud. They need it sometimes too lol

      I had this same set up on a 2017 Duramax which is the same configuration as your 2019… I feel like the 6 speed Allison responds better than the 10 speed… The 10 speed needs tuning. I absolutely recommend the Derringer and the Ram Air for the 2017 through 2019 L5P. Fuel economy in my opinion was slightly better because I feel the truck ran more efficiently… I did not notice an increase in regeneration.

    Great review, I have been running a Banks Derringer and I dash since my 17 duramax 3500 was new. I also added the Banks cold air intake and the pedal monster. Lately I have noticed that my distance between regens has gotten a bit shorter running around town with a couple of 35 mile trips a week. On longer trips it still seems pretty good. Do you notice your soot load climb up faster with the pedal monster set on the higher settings? I have backed mine down a bit to mid level sport which feels pretty good to me, but my wife complains my throttle is too touchy, LOL and I tell her that is why she doesn't need to drive my truck. One more question, is there any word on what configuration the new HD ZR2 for the 24 is going to be available? I would really like that package in a long bed 3500, but I am worried they are only going to offer it in a short bed.

      Hi Dave, I run my Derringer on level 3 and Pedal Monster on Sport Level 1. I average 30,000 miles/year...and overall I feel like me regen frequency is about the same. I would agree the higher Pedal Monster settings could increase regen frequency due to the increased load at low speeds. As far as ZR2 HDs...I do not see any information as of yet in the order guide. Check out this link. You can see all available options & current configurations for 2024 HD: www.gmfleetorderguide.com/NASApp/domestic/proddesc.jsp?year=2024&butID=1®ionID=1&divisionID=1&vehicleID=22597&type=0

      @@truckguyjoe Thanks for the reply, I just traded my 2017 on a 2023 GMC Denali Dually. I ordered a new Banks derringer for it and kept my I dash and pedal monster. I don't think I will do the intake on this one because the turbo whistle hurts my little dogs ears and if he isn't happy mom's not happy and if mom's not happy, nobody is happy, LOL I went with the dually because I was tired of driving over the local scales all the time and seeing how far overloaded I was every time towing my 5th wheel. I was even over loaded with an older cab over camper and towing a flatbed trailer with my Jeep. I should be golden now! Now I just need some better looking tires than the Michelin energy saver A/S that came on the truck. I have a couple 255/80R17 Toyo R/T Trail coming on Monday to get a look at. My warehouse only had two in stock right now, so I thought I would get a look at them and see if I want to order the other 4.

    • @truckguyjoe
      @truckguyjoe  Před rokem

      And that’s all it takes to win… Even a half a 10th is significant… It takes a lot of power to lower your ETs.. and increase your mile per hour… 1/10 is like a truck length. This particular in-line tuner makes the truck at least 3/10 faster which is a huge gap.
