Have you ever wondered why some racetracks are made sticky and others are not? You might have seen videos where a traction compound is sprayed onto the asphalt to create a sticky surface. This actually improves traction and reduces wheel spin during the launch, helping vehicles achieve rapid acceleration. However, this is only done in drag racing , this is because Unlike long races that need a mix of grip and maneuverability on turns, drag races are typically short, straight sprints that rely on quick straight-line acceleration for optimal performance.

Give the track road like conditions. Not some track more manicured than my tidy smooth ass after getting a Brazilian.
Car manufacturers are basically lying when they say their cars can do 8.9 in a quarter mile. (Dodge Demon.)
Yeah only on a perfect track with 40mph tail wind with more adhesive than what they use to bandage me up after my procedures!
Anyway snide jokes aside. I want to see what vehicles can do on normal conditions. Not specially created ones.
That is why Rally is the superior sport.

Only higher class drag races with big slicks would have adhesive. Regular road cars like the Demon wouldn't do runs on adhesive.

Also, they did solve the issue adding basically under body vents that lower the pressure buildup under the car at the cost of a bit more drag

My pop pop used to build drag cars and race them! This is so cool to learn! He would also work on normal vehicles, completely disassembling them to rebuild them stronger, adding roll cages i’m not sure if he did it with all of his vehicles. I just know my mom mentioned it. And before he passed, he was working on a school bus. He wanted to make it into sort of like a party bus and he was gonna drive us to school in it, but he never got the chance to finish it. I’m not sure what happened to it I don’t remember seeing it when we went to his place but my mom swears it was there.

Basically, a drag race has adhesive and a circuit doesn’t because if a circuit had adhesive, it’ll be heading to nowhere but the wall.

It’s actually to keep the tires skin nice and moisturized. Tires tend to get dry skin especially in cold weather. These guys have no idea what they’re speaking about

NASCAR used to use it so they could have multi grove racing, but it needed to be rubbered in to be grippier than the normal line, so the start of the race it was so slick
