Every night, viewers can expect: Comedy, humor, funny moments, witty interviews, celebrities, famous people, movie stars, bits, humorous celebrities doing bits, funny celebs, big group photos of every star from Hollywood, even the reclusive ones, plus also jokes. - Zábava
Watching them together is painful but beautiful. She is so vulnerable and amazing, and he is so respectful of her and obviously a true fan. I feel like her vulnerability allows him to be more of himself.
Fun fact: Maria Bamford makes a point of stating what she gets paid for her work.
This helps other stand-ups, particularly women, have a better idea of what venues etc will pay and what they can price their work at (rather than accepting lower wages).
❤
Wish more people across all fields were open about their earnings.
Interesting fact: In Sweden they have total wage transparency.

@aljanat5 She's bipolar and her medication gives her tremors.
For example:
czcams.com/video/BV5qcto2IRs/video.html
Can’t wait until her book gets out bc she talks about how much she gets paid for the book I heard
Oh, Maria. I love her. The only comedian that has clear stage fright anxieties and still keeps bringing comedy gold.
I think it's actually her medication that gives her tremors.
Outside of whatever the truth is, both Bill Hader and John Mulaney have talked about their massive, massive stage fright and they both kill also. I love Maria to death, just think there are more like her and not in a bad way!
I know I'm pretty randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to stream new movies online?
@Tanner Marley lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)
@Layton Dorian Yea, I have been using Flixzone for since march myself =)
"Even though I'm an atheist, I'm also ethically competitive!" Brilliant! I like this girl!
I choked on my drink. Almost did a spittake.
Jaymes Guy this video was kept secret from you guys. czcams.com/video/JYaXIX9kqU4/video.html
Why not?
'There's nothing after this life.....so I'm going to be better than everyone else at how good I am while I can' 😁
@aljanat5 She has talked at length about why she shakes like that. You should go check out more of her work :)
@aljanat5 hachi machi, dude.
Maria bamford has that amazing comedic genius where the jokes just flow out her like a stream of consciousness, her genuine perceptions are hilarious and delightful- it’s not performative at all, it’s just who she is; her mind is a whirlwind. She’s one of my favorite comedians.
Holy crap, when the show goes back to the studio can he just do some interviews like this? It’s perfect.
lol hey
maria bamford is a living legend. You can go back to the stuff she did 20 years ago, it's still relevant and timeless.
I first saw her on the Dr. Katz Live episode. So amazing. Lifelong fan from that point forward.
the problem is, it is so good that she kinda, not exactly burned out, but exploded like a supernova and has been coasting on stardust ever since. I can say without any hint of lemon that I have never laughed so hard and so much as I have listening to Maria's comedy in audio form no less. I didn't even get to see who she was for a long time. Being in the UK she wasn't exactly easy to find here. Anywho I still quote her today and almost no one ever gets the quotes, which makes me sad and also makes me want to cut them up into chunks and scrabble all their pieces up into my chops. And yes that was a quote heh
I was the center of one of her and tig’s standup routines years ago...best night ever.
"Youre on seroquel girl go home" omg I feel personally attacked hahahahaha
"A who's who of ... who?" Lol genius!
Maria is a delight, and an inspiration. I've been following her career and the struggles she herself has chronicled. The video of her doing a set for her parents is classic.
Maria Bamford, you are brilliant. Thank you for being :)
She is especially brilliant but much like the weather. She can be rain all hell down on you from the skies and then pop out the sun and shine on you like nothing ever happened, all in one sentence.
Man, I love me some Maria Bamford. She's such a unique, genuine, and special spirit. 😍
I honestly love Maria. Might not laugh at every joke, but the ones I do, I'm cracking up. She seems like such a cool person, too. I like unapologetically weird people.
That was my take too (first time I've seen her)... I wasn't laughing, and then suddenly I was madly giggling.
Aside from her openness about mental illness, what I really enjoy about her comedy acts is the voices/impressions she does of different characters. Doing several different voices well is especially hard to do. She gives a little taste in this interview, but they’re more polished in her acts.
I love Maria Bamford SO MUCH. I've been such a fan of hers for like 20 years. She's hilarious and amazing.
but I love her more than you do. I've been a fan for 20 years and 1 minute which makes me more fan.nier than you. So there. I'm sure you're a very nice person despite not being as big a fan of Maria Bamford as me, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Good day!
@@ClayMann I challenge you to a duel at noon sir.
@@davesecx of course when i said I was a bigger fan. I meant as well as you who is armed and a very great fan I'm sure. I would of course love to attend a duel at noon but I have an online zoom appointment with my therapist, Jean. Oh well, what a shame. Bye now! *sound of footsteps pitter pattering off into the distance*
Only 15 years. I bow to you all.
If there was a crowd, it would have been going wild. She has really been working on her material! Way to go Maria!
She will always be my favorite ! Maria Bamford rocks!
She is my favourite comedy human of all time.
No argument there...
I LOVE this woman and that she speaks out about mental illness, it shouldn't be something that you need to be ashamed of or anything.
How fun! Maria Bamford is awesome. My former therapist fell asleep.
Oh, my gosh, I saw the name and I thought they were uploading older clips of the show. I've loved her since the early 2000's, she's been, hands down, one of my all time favorite comedians ever. I was so thrilled to see her on Colbert. I could definitely watch her all day long, she's so funny and so nice and such a unique person.
Maria is a delightful human being--hilarious and real af.
She's not real, she's animated. All the interviews in the theater are just animations now.
@@insane_troll na, I feel like she's just as delightful when the cameras are off
ugh, she's so unfunny to me. they give the biggest tools the biggest jobs .lol.
I've loved her since... well, since we thought her persona was an act. Love her to pieces. She's going to be adorable when she's 80.
Maria Bamford is the greatest
She is hilarious, and crazy, wish she was on more stuff just being herself, she is amazing.
You should try some of her specials if they are still on Netflix.
@aljanat5 ?
She is an absolute treasure.
'we don't even believe in heaven, BUT WERE GOING!' omfg Bamford is so funny. I LOVE how she made colbert awkward with that religion joke. so good
Love Maria !!!!
Such delightful anxiety.... and beautiful at the same time.
Bamford's the best.
Maria is absolutely amazing. So glad to see her going strong. As for the folks at NAMI, they know the stats on mental health professionals who also take prescribed psychotropic meds. Seroquel doesn't rule you out! You help in so many ways!!
The closests live experience to what 'treated' mental illness can look like. In Maria Bamford's case it's shaky, scattered, brilliant, hilarious and brutally honest. Unlike nobody else and life-time memorable.
And yes, I've take my meds today!
AltonBeckert Lol! I've taken mine too! Stay safe! ♡
Love her. My favorite comedian. ❤
Without sounding rude, I am fascinated by how her mind must be operating in the moment. The brain is complex and fascinating.
I love Maria Bamford! She is so witty and funny! I love the voices she makes too! ❤❤👏👏👏👏
Good God I love that woman! I was laughing so hard I had to go sit down.
I am so happy to see Maria again - this interview is so good.
Wonderful seeing Maria. I appreciate her candor and Stephen's veering back to conversation when she starts to ramble.
My friends have to do this too or I'll go to Mars and back in a five minute monologue. And I don't have to save time for commercial intermissions.
I relate to her way too much...
😂💖🤣
The perfect dinner guest for anyone on a diet, the food would barely reach your mouth and you'd spill most drinks.
England Calling this video was kept secret from you guys. czcams.com/video/JYaXIX9kqU4/video.html
@aljanat5 I just think of her as lovely person.
omg, that last bit about Stephen's therapist - that's exactly how my first therapist was like! Like a robot. That's why it's good to "shop around" (for some that might have been perfect!) and not give up on therapy, as all in all it was the best thing that I decided to do. Good on you guys for brining the subject up
Crew members and the band laughing in the background is hilarius :)
It gives it some life
I love that we're embracing mental illness and making jokes about it. That's what I do, but I'm not quite as funny as these two. In the days since the pandemic began, Steve has been extremely helpful for me, making lite of the foibles of our institutions. Making people laugh is so important. Thank you.
9:30 therapy is like a lap dance when it ends
Maria and Stephen are brilliant!!!
Maria Bamford is from Duluth Minnesota as am I. She's great.
Stephen didn't get the joke that the better help online therapist was so shit she was giving Maria advice for someone else entirely. I think later on it will sink in and he'll kick himself. He thought he was the master, but now he is the learner. He got Bammered and we've all been there.
Right? Her mind is so quick.
This is such a good interview 🥰
I love the format, intimate yet socially distant
Maria is one of the great comedians. Adore her.
Thank you Maria and Steven!
You could see Stephen laughing through the whole thing. So funny!
How we all miss this theater and late night show stage! Even when everything opens up again, I think the audience section will still be pretty empty. A live late night show isn’t the same without the audience energy and cheer.
Thanh Mai this video was kept secret from you guys. czcams.com/video/JYaXIX9kqU4/video.html
@Mai - I really think that as time goes on and more people either test positive and recover or have 'almost definitely covid-19 symptoms but could not get tested' and recover.......you'll see more people prepared to gather in small-ish groups, then bigger but not cramped groups etc.
I love her soo much. Such important work
Awww I love Maria bamford!!!!
Lub her so much. 🥰
"We have to wait until this whole thing is over in 5 or 6 weeks" If only that part were true.....
My favourite joke of hers was her talking about her boyfriend not wanting to use condoms.
Him: (whiny) But I can't feel anything...
Her: (snarky) Well, that makes us even.
😆
That wasn't Maria, it was a different blonde comedian with a squeaky voice.
Edit: Her name is Felicia Michaels.
Maria Bamford is amazing!
“So much to work with and be curious about.”
Was I Christine, or was I the baby!?!? My Mom was schizophrenic in Mt. and never knew it, me neither until she passed in 2000. Misdiagnosed from childhood as epileptic until a Dr. found she'd suffered brain damage from a forceps delivery. Wish she'd lived to have seen you, I laugh till I cry and then hit replay. You're a jewel and you bring a lot of healing in all you do. ThankYou
We thought it was only going to be weeks 😆😂
😱😱she’s my favorite comedian
Uploading at 5pm on a Friday? But I'm definitely not aware of the time.
Also note the date of the interview before y'all jump on them about not wearing masks.
laalaa99stl
LOL, too late, I already commented that that seat is not 6 feet wide. 😆
Does anyone know what she meant by “36 hours.. 8 hours.” I’m not aware of guidelines that suggest those numbers at all. Is this a NY thing?
I'm glad to see her.
Maria!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Seeing ppl without facemasks makes me nervous. "...5 - 6 weeks..." - that´s funny.
it's so odd seeing people in studios - i forgot we used to do that
at first I thought this was an old episode, thinking "what did youtube jump to?"
Maria is one of a kind and a genius.
Maria is a national treasure
I love Maria! 👏🏽
She is such a delight!
Bravo!
Remember when we thought this would all be over in 6 weeks or something?
She's great!!!
Pure Magic!
The Christine and her baby bit killed me
She’s truly a living goddess!!⭐️🦄
i love Maria!
Awesome..
Can you imagine her and Robin Williams in the same room for an extended period of time?
I love Maria! It's cool that they're not on zoom.
legend has it that maria had a zoom with jimmy kimmel and brought in all the characters from her head each with their own zoom window. Kimmel was admitted to hospital for observation. No one has zoomed her since. Stephen Colbert even risked his life breaking social distancing laws rather than zoom her. It may not be true, but Maria knows, oh Maria knows!
“I wanna wash my hands because I do love everyone” lmao
3:25 "five or six weeks"
oh, sweet naïveté...
I loved Lady Dynamite. It feels just like you were inside her head (which I think was kind of the purpose of the show).
Hell yeah
Comedians of Comedy is one of my favorite films ever.
Good to see my favorite fellow crazy person. 💙
LOL....that description of the therapist is priceless. He could hardly do less and get paid.
Stephen: ...five or six weeks...
hah
Lol when they say the whole thing will be over in a few weeks 🤣
"A Who's Who of WHO?????" lol
Let me first say that I have really liked Maria Bamford for a while now, having discovered her on CZcams as a below-the-radar phenom being both funny & ferociously honest with her life's story. That said... at the end, the way the camera pans, I love seeing the interior of the theater. I haven't been there since before the post-Letterman renovations & the occasional shots of the ceiling, when Stephen talks to God, show some of the details revealed since the work, exposing of that marvelous dome & adding of the lights.
Maybe we can make lemonade from the lemons with this virus? If the audience is to be more distanced, maybe we can have some more visuals with more (portable) camera action in & around the theater. AND can I get a ticket ~ even an old "stand-by" like I did before?
I know her most from Adventure Time. =)
She's a great comedian, very open about dealing with severe mental illness, and while she doesn't always succeed (see: mental illness), she's a wonder to watch. =)
I love her imperfections
OK, so this was done on March 12. Got it.
In the before times.....
@@telectronix1368
More like in the "on the threshold" times...
Oui, thank you! I thought I missed an episode or something
Love u Bambam! ♥
the kabuki theater bit was priceless.
I need more space between Stephen and his guests.
I had a therapist write an actual prescription for a Bible. I didn't schedule a followup but got billed for being a no-show!
gotta love her
Maria is a delight
THE BESTEST!
