How long does ot take to get flowers on the plants and also is it good for African violets
Usually the plants will start setting flowers quickly if they are mature enough. I have used it on 2 African violets, but a little goes a long way.
Thank you for a great andd simple recipe. 🙏
Looks great brother.
it hurt my plants. I wouldn't do it again.
I'm curious, How did it hurt your plants?
To keep Deer away from any garden or orchard just run 30lb clear mono film fishing line about 18 inches high off ground. Then about every 8 ft tie on 1 foot of surveyor ribbon. they slow down at the ribbon and can't see the fishing line. When they touch the fishing line it freaks them out and they will not pass, and cant jump what they can't see. I have used this for years without any deer what so ever come into my garden. Thanks for the planting tips.... Kevin
That's a good idea. I'll have to try it. Thanks
Thank you so much 😅
I have similar set ups and all my raised beds, but I will say the different technique I use is not too warm the tube with a lighter, I typically bring out a cup of boiling water.. outside of that difference I’d say you and I run similar lines
Yes, I have seen the boiling water trick too. Anything to soften up the plastic so it slides on the connector easier. These systems are very convenient!
I have that also for my raised bed garden
Nice job and great tutorial
Thank you
Can I use this irrigation system in a raised bed?
Absolutely, I have helped run irrigation system in several raised beds. They work well.
I got 4 Bare root apple trees and put them in a pot with good soil and 10 10 10. But they all went brown. I planted them in a month but they look dead. Are they ok?
Gentle scratch a branch and see if it's green under the bark. If not, it's probably dead. We do not use synthetic fertilizer in/on newly planted trees as it will often cause "fertilizer burn" and stunt or kill the plant.
Never leave the walls of the hole slick and smooth! You can use your shovel or spade to cut slices that will give the roots a starter slot to move out rather than going in circles. I also the spike side of a mattock to stab into the wall and then pry back just until I see the soil crack and lift a little. More pathways for roots to get through.
I must say thank you am a first time gardner and zm trying to learn all l can to help me along😊
You are very welcome!
Great Video Sir
Thank you
Poor sound
Good job! Thanks for sharing your insights.
i like the usage of tinfoil tray!
does the fertilizer prevent pests and diseases too?
No it does not
Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy. Looks simple enough.
I just planted Persian lime, great Fruit, mango here in zone 9 question is how many years before producing fruit maybe they were in a gallon container Thanks
My Meyer lemon produced the very first year. However, to help establish a good root system I picked all the fruit off the first year. This allows them to establish well into their container before they begin to set fruit.
thank you so much for showing this my garden is not doing good working hard to get it tp grow when use fui appricate thank you
You're welcome.
Thank you
Does it work on fruit trees papapaya to be exact?
We use it on our potted fruit trees with good success. Basically, anything that flowers will benefit from the banana water.
Thanks for sharing the video. It's so cool. Can't wait to see how your garden thrives with this new addition! 🌿
Great information. Is it ok to use bananas that aren’t organic?
Yes. It is ok
Thanks for your reply, when I lived in Queensland I grew my own bananas, but now living in Victoria, I can’t (too cold). Greetings from Australia 🐸🎶
Have you ever had an issue with the tree becoming root bound in the hole with all the loose easy soil? Do you have experience with it eventually breaking through the clay soil? Logically, it would make sense that the roots would eventually branch out and go through the clay soil to avoid turning on itself and dying.
No, many of the trees in Our orchard are going on 10 years in the ground. We have even dug up and moved a couple of the trees. Yes, they eventually expand into the heavy clay soil.
I just discovered you and I subscribed! I was wondering why your voice was so soothing! You Do sound like Bob Ross! Thanks for the great information!
Thank you very much!
These work great!
I might raise up the tree a bit higher above original soil line(More of your good stuff in hole before putting in tree).
Had one also when I had chickens. Works well.
Make your own tree tubes with clear poly roofing, two sheets drill small holes down each edge, wire or zip tie together. Any size tree tube you need. For deer get the Orbit motion activated sprinklers around perimeter (and a trail cam because deer reactions are cartoon level hilarious). Add 2-3" of mulch on top of soil, your trees will be very happy.
Why did they graft this tree?
Try planting Rosemary around the edges of the orchard to deter the deer.
Best potato video I've seen. It's to the point and in great detail for those who have never grown sweet potatos.
Thank you!
It annoys the shit out of me to here people like you saying I’m not happy with the nursery I get my fruit trees from they don’t use soil they use tree bark, stop fucking complaining and if you are so unhappy grow your own fruit trees in your incredibly shit soil you have @nuttygnomehomestead
This is a great video and channel on growing your own bananas btw.
I very much appreciate this video I have never pruned my tomato plants only cut off the bottom leaves if they look brownish .Thanks for the visual and details with this and the reasoning behind it...

It's a myth that synthetic fertilizers are a "salt" that "depletes your soil over time". This myth was started by the organic gardening blogs and channels (who create excessive excessive myth content sprinkled with truth in order ot sound trustworthy, but whose ultimate goal is to make money from you in one way or another). By and large, home gardeners and even some market gardeners, are largely an unscientific bunch that do not verify the BS information they are fed and propagate these lies as quick as kudzu takes over a landscape. This is what you call "the rabble" and that is one of the functions they perform in the world - spreading misinformation they are fed by their masters. The use of the term "salt" in many compounds such as fertilizer does not mean the same thing as sodium chloride (aka table salt aka NaCl) or even road salt. The only "salt" that the rabble understands is table and road salt and these will indeed deplete your soil and harm it, potentially to the point of making making your soil infertile. But synthetic fertilizers are not table or road salt and do not kill soil biology (nor are they toxic to plants or humans), but they don't add much to the soil because they are designed to feed the plants, not so much to feed the soil microbes. They are great to use and safe to use and are faster-acting, though. However, organic fertilizers are still good to use, especially granular ones, because organic fertilizers feed the soil microbes that break down the fertilizer to make nutrients available to the plants. This means they do not feed the plants directly and thus are slow acting from a plant standpoint, but they are great for soil biology in the long term because they "feed the soil", not the plant. So by all means, use organic ferts, I encourage it. But if you want quick nutrition, supplement it with synthetic ferts because it's not going to kill your soil lol. But they could potentially harm or kill plants if used incorrectly and/or in excessive amounts, so you'll have to use your brain a bit more when using synthetics. Good luck with that, y'all.
I just planted my garden this week. I am going to use your method. I will keep you posted of my results. Thank you.
Awesome, what all did you plant?
How do you decide which beans to save for the next season? Do you select the plants which produce the most or do you find it doesnt matter and you just take the last crop of the season to save and dry out?
We harvest 3-4 times off of the plants and then we let the remaining beans dry on the vine. I want them almost leathery when I pick them. I'll let them dry another 2 weeks in a barn/garage/greenhouse and then shell the beans. I keep the biggest and best looking ones for seed.
Can I use this in my flowerbeds?
Yes, it works in flower beds too
Is it ok to store the jar in fridge? Living in florida, there are really no "cool dark places" other than that😅
Yes, I jar in the fridge would be fine. When I lived in an apartment, I did mine in half gallon jars in the refrigerator.
Thank you😊😊
Exquisite! This is the glorious tincture that my plants were begging me to find! I appreciate your video big time!
Can this solution be used on fruit trees?
Yes, any plant that requires potassium. Especially during the time of flowering.
