I need to get potatoes in yhe ground. Seems like there's always something else to do first.

Need help!! I live in Zone 9B, and have an area of approx 15'x15' to work with. What would be your choice for high yield vegetables to feed a rather large family? My brain seems 'frozen'.

In zone 9 you would have a lot of options. A 15x15' plot can be broken up into about 9 or 10 fifteen foot rows. The first thing that comes to mind is bush beans, I plant 9 to a square foot and get huge yields. Potatoes for us usually yield at least 3 pounds per pound planted. With our growing season in 7b, we can get 2 crops annually. Indeterminate tomatoes have huge yields. I plant them closer together here and prune the bottom branches heavily to prevent diseases. Lettuce & radish can be inter planted to maximize space. Cabbage can be planted spring and fall. Don't overlook growing vertically to save/maximize space. When I lived in an apartment, I made a ladder style rack to hold lettuce plants.
