    I have a question I’m from Newfoundland. I see your cabbage is coming great but why do you have that black fabric over it?

      Weed suppression. We are blessed with about 200 day growing season, and the weeds can easily take over. The fabric is a huge time saver for us.

    What is the name of your German Lettuce you mentioned.

      Honestly I'm not sure. A family friend of more than 40 years gave it to us. He had been growing it since the '70s. The old German couple that live beside him brought it over from the old world. And that's where he got his starts. We have grown it for a long time, and it is probably some of the best we have.
