Skiing "in" Las Vegas | Lee Canyon Resort
Okay, okay while not technically IN Las Vegas, neither is the famous strip! Gotcha there..
Lee Canyon is local mountain for skiers and (mostly) snowboarders who make the Las Vegas area home. From where I live, it's just under 60 miles and takes a little more than an hour to get to. Some visitors come up for a little pause on the from action of the strip and Downtown Las Vegas as well.
There are four lifts at Lee Canyon (not counting their magic carpet) Rabbit Peak, Ponderosa, Bluebird, and Sherwood and I used them all a lot as the mountain wasn't even close to being crowded the entire day. It was a great time, I got a lot of laps in and I really feel like I took the step from beginner to intermediate level skier that day.
I'm planning on hitting up Brian Head in a couple weeks and I'll be bringing my GoPro with me again so if you enjoyed this video subscribe and be ready for a new ski vlog soon!

Ka'ena Point Hiking Trail | Oahu, Hawaii
zhlédnutí 186Před 4 měsíci
This is the final video from our trip to Hawaii When searching for places to go in Hawaii I noticed Ka'ena Point sticking out on the northwestern tip of Oahu. From the first few pictures I saw I knew I wanted to go there. I'm glad we did because it was gorgeous, it was cool to see the wildlife as well. We saw albatrosses, monk seals, and even saw a whale (not shown on video) off in the very far...

In the previous video (czcams.com/video/ZMSCpGWS3tk/video.html) Angie and I bailed out of a backpacking trip after realizing we didn't have a lighter to light our cooking stoves at the bottom of Waimea Canyon. Since we finished the hike at night at night and many of Kauai's local businesses shut down very early we had limited choices for hotels and all of them were expensive. We chose Sheraton ...

This is day 1 & 2 of the week Angie and I spent in Hawaii. It was a long day getting there and a quick turnaround back to the airport but once we made it to Kauai we herein 100% vacation mode. We had a great time driving around the beautiful island stopping at several beaches and viewpoints. We had a strenuous hike planned for the next couple days so we just wanted to take this one easy. This Thanksgiving Angie and I kept the day simple and just went for a hike at Red Rock Canyon and went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. The trail we hiked was the South Oak Creek trail, the trailhead is not in the Red Rock Canyon scenic loop and is free to hike, don't leave any valuables in the car because we did see a busted window on the ground. Thanks for the video, very good information. I have a question there's a trail from Big Bluff straight down to the river or you went down through the centerpoint trail to Granny's Henderson cabin? I cannot find anything on the map thanks, and keep up with the good work.
Great video of many amazing waterfalls. Tim Ernst book is a really great book and he’s a nice man. He purchased his home there that used to be part of my dads family land. Just beautiful and so many pretty landscapes and bodies of water. Thanks for sharing !
First of you posts I've seen, still watching but great job! On the first fall I don't like to tell folks what to do but I hope it is limited (somehow) to only so many swimmers. With how people are treating the environ in CO these days (like driving off the road in the high country to park where there are signs not to do that -- it takes yrs for the ground to recover at that elevation folks) I'd hate to see like 40 people packed in those swimming holes with all their trash and sunscreen going downstream. Yuck. Best,, from Colorado!
How many snakes did you see?? I loved your video and I love to explore, but I know I'd be looking for them more than enjoying the scenery. eek
I don't think we saw any snakes on these hikes! It was February tho so they are less common to see. Gotta keep a lookout tho!
Iam going in a few week… Can’t wait
Have a good time!
Any part of the Ozarks is beautiful but I'm partial to the Missouri Ozarks
I lived in Branson, MO but preferred driving down to Arkansas lol
Was it hard to find the turn to the trailhead from the hole in the rock road?
No, there aren't many turn offs, especially that far down the road so it was pretty easy. I'm pretty sure there was a sign marking the road name too. But if you've never been on Hole in the Rock Road it is a looooong washboard road lol
Why do half the tree look dead ?
They just didn't have leaves on them because it was winter when I shot this video
Nice views, my friend! Have you ever made the hike to David Hadlock Falls?
No, I never made it to that one.
I have hiked that trail You captured it
I love that trail, it's the first backpacking trip I ever did and I ended up hiking it a couple more times before leaving the Ozarks. I miss the Buffalo River, especially this time of year
🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for watching!

Great video
What a great video! This area seems to be working out great for you. Be careful, looks like you're going super fast down those mountains!
Yeah I got a little carried away on that one where I crashed 😅
Good video ...doing things i wish i had did when i was young.
Thank you. I'm glad we started skiing this year, it's a lot of fun!
Sit down hang on n shut up lol😮 stay safe big guy!
Thanks! Lol I pushed it a little bit on the safe side this time
@@WanderingBlocktime for a new video 😊
Looks like you're improving and doing great. Just wondering, why don't you use poles? It looks like a lot of fun but just be careful. You don't want to break something.
I never learned how to use the poles.. lol I'm going to Utah to ski in a couple weeks, I'll probably grab some poles if they're available and see if they do anything for me. I think they really aren't that necessary unless you're taking tight turns. Next year I'll probably take a lesson where I can learn how to properly use them.
That ‘X’ was likely placed on that tree for some project by the USFS, by foresters.
Please people, do NOT attempt this hike. People die on mountain regularly, even those that have summitted 100’s of times. I have witnessed many helicopter rescues as a local. This is not a safe hike if you’re inexperienced.
Thanks for the concern but I think it's shown clearly in the video that this is NOT an easy hike. And if it's not clear enough in the video I wrote it down in the description. Lol We enjoyed this hike, you can have the easy hikes with the big crowds 🤙
This was one of my favorite hikes. We were only going to hike a short way along the coast but then kept going "just a little bit further" and before we knew it, we were at the point. The sound of the waves was enchanting.
We loved it!
Amazing views!!! Will definitely come back!
Woohoo! Let's go ✈️
Great video! Great scenery
Thank you very much! 😁
❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️
One more thing. I am moving back there. Miss it that much!
I lived in NW Arkansas for 20 yrs and loved going into the Buffalo River area. It would take most of a lifetime to really check out everything there is to see.
I agree, we moved out of the Ozarks a couple years ago and there's a lot I still want to go back and do one day.
Nice hotel. The waves look so relaxing. Glad you got to enjoy yourselves.
Everyone makes mistakes if you’re human- I made a mistake once summer of 1966 I thought I made a mistake but I didn’t lol!!
😂😂 😂
@@WanderingBlock u guys stay safe!
I guess we have to go back to finish what we started!!! 😅
I'm ready when you are 😜
How do you of all people forget a lighter ?? Lighter I barely know her!!!
😂😭 left it in the backpack that was inside the car
I think it's cool that you posted a video where things can go wrong. Things happen for a reason...🙂
Haha, had to share our foolishness. Maybe our mistakes can help teach others that watch 🙂
That was a lot of work but thankful you made it back ok!!! Unique setting and terrain!
It sure was a lot of work, reminded us of our hike out of Black Canyon of the Gunnison, but with overnight packs. If we ever go back and camp at Lonomea I may want to spend 2 nights down there to be well rested for the hike up.
Hawaii is so pretty!
It sure is, we hope we can make it back there one day!
You'll know when U make a wrong turn right away
Nice Video! Hey, how hard is it to get to the Cecil Cove area from Broadwater Falls? If you had 2 vehicles, you could see Paige and Broadwater, then hike down and maybe get to Thunder Canyon Falls, and follow the trail back to the Cecil Cove Trailhead to avoid climbing back up.
I'm not sure tbh, I know you could at one point but there was an active landslide somewhere on the Cecil Cove trail. Idk if that made it harder to get down there and if the area is still considered dangerous. The one time I went down to Thunder Canyon Falls I actually hiked down from Hideout Hollow. I was by myself though and only had one car; that hike out was a workout, I could see why you would want to avoid climbing out lol
Some people think that aluminum will burn. Funny, I still have my 43 y.o. aluminum cookpot, it hasn't burned yet!
Gorgeous video! Looking forward to the next 🙂
Thanks for watching, the next one should be good!
😍😍😍
Beautiful island of Kauai! We will surely come back! 🌺
Let's go! ✈️
Another great video. See you on the trail!
Thanks man! Be safe out there!
So glad you guys were able to visit Hawaii. I loved it and hope to go back some day.
We want to go back too! Maybe we can plan a trip to go the same time
Dinner looked delicious and the hike was beautiful!❤️
Dinner was delicious, that's our favorite place for Pho in Las Vegas. Great way to end a chilly day hiking 😁
Been to Red Rock Canyon about 20 years ago when we went to Vagas- good memories - stay safe big guy 😊
We love having quick access to Red Rock Canyon, it's such a fun place to hike!
Looks like a nice hike. Are the temperatures cooling down in your area?
Yes it's much cooler now. Getting pretty chilly during night.
Such beautiful scenery! Love to see these natural areas outside of Vegas.❤
I do too, I don't think I'll ever get tired of exploring the desert around us!
Was a fantastic hike! And The videos only keep getting better!
I couldn't have done it without you!
Sorry guys, should have started earlier. The only Red Rock Canyon area I'm familiar with is off I 15 between Vegas and St George ? That is really Red rock too. I'm from England, so not sure where your location is ??
This is in the Red Rock National Conservation Area right on the outskirts of Las Vegas.
Definitely goes on my bucket list.
Thanks for watching! Hope you make it out there!
Might have to put this on my bucket list 😊thanks stay safe big guy
It was a really nice hike, definitely do it if you get the chance. Thanks for watching!
