- After our last hike shown in the previous video (Calf Creek Falls) Angie and I drove into the town of Escalante to stock up on groceries, water, and fuel for the Jeep before hitting Hole in the Rock Road to camp for a few nights. While we were camping I was reading through some of our hiking trail guidebooks and found what looked to be a fun hike to a massive arch near the end of the washboardy Hole in the Rock Rd. That arch was Broken Bow Arch, and we decided to do the hike and let me tell you, it well worth the long drive and hike/bushwhack to get there. We spent about four to five hours on the trail and didn't see a single other person the entire time so we had this huge, picturesque arch in a beautiful canyon all to ourselves. The canyon also provided a fun echo that we enjoyed playing with for a bit while we ate our snacks underneath the arch.
Should you choose to visit this arch yourself beware the trail starts at the end of a long high-clearance road with no services, bring plenty of fuel, food, and water. If I remember correctly the trail had no markers other than maybe a few small cairns at confusing places. I used all trails to download the map to my phone and it worked good enough. Make sure to check out the NPS's website for up to date info and stop at the visitor center right off of Highway 12 on the west side of Escalante.

@@TheSwissHiker that would be awesome! I will be watching your videos as well, it looks like they're very informative
Was it hard to find the turn to the trailhead from the hole in the rock road?
No, there aren't many turn offs, especially that far down the road so it was pretty easy. I'm pretty sure there was a sign marking the road name too.
But if you've never been on Hole in the Rock Road it is a looooong washboard road lol
