- On the first day of November 2021 Angie and I hiked the Lower Calf Creek Falls trail located in Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in southern Utah. The hiking trail is fairly easy with just a few ups and downs and after around 3 miles of hiking you reach a stunning, picturesque waterfall. The trail is good for folks of all ages and is located right off of the famous highway 12 that cruises through some of southern Utah's most beautiful places so this trail can definitely get busy and fill up during peak season, I imagine weekends throughout the year are busy as well. We hiked this trail on a Monday in November and the crowds weren't too bad.
Overall it was a fun, simple day hike that we really enjoyed. The waterfall was beautiful and the hike there and back had some amazing views, it's definitely worth doing, just try to avoid when it's super busy.
The closest town is Escalante, UT. We drove into town after our hike to stock up on groceries before spending several nights camping down Hole in the Rock Rd.
Another very nice hike! Thanks. I'm 80 years old now so I'll not be doing anything strenuous but I have in the past and your hikes bring back great memories as well as show me more beautiful back country. Thanks again.
I'm glad you're able to still enjoy the back country thru our videos. We always appreciate you watching and the kind comments you leave! 😁
The trail and the surroundings are simply perfect for hiking.
For sure, a lot of amazing hiking and scenery in southern Utah. Thank you for watching!
awesome job...great scenery!
Thank you!
Now you need to hike down the canyon to the top of these falls. That's a wild adventure.
I agree, I definitely need to get back out there.
Aspens were pretty. I have this hike on my list of things to do when we are in Escalante next month. I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself.
The waterfall is even better in person, definitely a good trail today. Just want to get there early on a weekday because I bet it gets busy in September and October
