- Indian Rockhouse Trail is located at Buffalo Point inside the Buffalo National River boundaries. It features a few cool points of interest but the main one is a giant bluff shelter that has been used by people as early as 7,000 BCE called Indian Rockhouse.
The trail is a 3.5 mile loop and has hill you have to hike up to get back to the trailhead. It's not too bad if you're in decent shape though, we saw several families with young children leaving as we were starting and they seemed to be fine.
We hiked the trail on August 3rd, late summer isn't really the best for hiking in the Ozarks but there were a couple cooler days (by cooler I mean low-mid 80s) and we figured this trail would be traveled and maintained enough that we wouldn't have too many issues with overgrown, buggy sections of the trail, and in the end I don't remember facing any. So this is a great trail if you're wanting something mellow so you don't get tore up by ticks and chiggers. We would love to come back during Spring to see the creeks and streams flowing though!
Thank you for watching! Don't forget to give this video a big ole thumbs up!
That was a pretty cool trail and the caves were cool too. I like the bathtub.
Yeah the bathtub was really cool. I should have taken a dip!
I discovered your channel investigating places to check out when we come to Arkansas this summer. My favorite cousin moved there so here we come! With that said, there is a river access point that I frequent here in my mountains that I never tell anyone else about. Nothing makes my soul happier than to have the place to myself on a hot, southern summer morning. Your videos, so far, have made me less sad about forgoing Colorado for Arkansas! I did not think that was possible. Thanks for sharing
Glad to hear
Another great video,great photos thanks
Thank you!
Great video! Definitely putting this hike on my To-Do list.
Thanks! It's almost spring and I'd imagine that creek will be have some water, probably even prettier then!
Going camping around here in a couple weeks. Thanks for the vid!
Awesome! Enjoy your trip!
Agree with others, another great video. Enjoy your editing and production style.
Thank you!! Just trying to keep improving as I go! 😁
Another great video. I'm used to your long hair!
Thank you! I just cut it randomly s few months back, forgot to mention anything about it in the last video lol.
I work outside and having long hair in the heat and humidity of summer just wasn't pleasant
This place has been on my list of hikes to do. Hopefully, I can get there this fall. Great video.
Thanks! We're glad we finally hiked it, it's a really cool place!
Nice hike! Thanks for sharing
Yes, we really enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
@@WanderingBlock no problem! We really enjoy making outdoor content also
@@NickandRachel cool! We will check it out!
I did this trail a few years ago, and thought it was awesome! I didn't stay long though, because there was some sketchy looking dude hiking behind me on the way to the cave. So i barely rested and almost immediately hiked back uphill. Dude didn't follow me then. He was probably part of the Dean family lol.
Smh, gotta watch out for them Deans now 😂
Nice video. I might write some of these places down to visit/videograph myself whenever I get down to Arkansas next.
Arkansas has a lot of cool places to check out. Hope you enjoy!!
