- We are in Arkansas, nestled in the Ozark Mountains at the Buffalo National River. This is part of the National Parks Service and was named the first National River in 1972. The location is stunning and the river itself is clear and beautiful!!
We have found here one of the best activities you can do during the summer!!! Float the river!!! What is a float? Well, you get in a canoe or kayak and float down the river… the current does most of the work for you and little paddling is needed. Being on the river you will go between stunning bluffs on either side of you and see lots of wildlife. Get hot? Just stop and jump in the river! What an amazing way to spend the day!

We got a puppy the fall before my husband retired. We quickly found out that although we LOVED him and spent lots of time and money on his training and wellbeing, it was very difficult to travel with him, or leave him at home. We ended up finding the PERFECT family for him. They had just recently lost their long-time pet and our pup was just the one to fill the void. That year we had 3 big trips planned and we just weren't equipped to give our little guy the time and energy he deserved. I think your little Pepper is the cutest thing ever, and I know why you wanted her and thought that she'd be a great traveling companion. Looks like you found the perfect pet family to share her with when you are away! 🥰💖
I feel for Pepper. I believe in a couple videos we will hear. Well Pepper is so much happier with the people we dropped her off with so we decided it was best if pepper was to live with them. I feel so sad about Pepper. 😢
Don’t feel bad about Pepper - you can tell J is conflicted about it all. It’s ok to do what’s best for the pup and your family. Everyone has their own opinions (especially on the internet) but yours are truly all that matters.
So so so excited to watch the American road trip this summer! Some of my favourite vlogs are of you guys just chilling across the states! ❤
Thank you for understanding
welcome to my State! We have a ton of hidden gems that people dont know about! I hope you enjoyed your time and keep exploring our beautiful state!
Welcome to Arkansas! We’ve lived in Little Rock for 10 years. Arkansas gets a bad rap for many things, but there’s no doubt that it’s a beautiful state!
Love y'all videos. I live in Arkansas, but my wife is from Louisiana and I'm right across the line in Texas. We are Cajun but have lived in Arkansas for many years. The best and prettiest part of the buffalo is on the other end near pona Arkansas. You really can't float it in the summer because it gets too low, but in the spring it's beautiful! Class 2 rapids and water fall, it's just great. Love watching you guys, have fun
Floated the Buffalo and camped there as a kid, it still looks great❤️ I know Pepper is having a great time visiting friends and y’all WILL learn how best to travel together, although I admit it does cramp your ability to explore. We have a class B camper and almost 15 year old “puppy” that we have to consider on our travels. She’s a road warrior but at her age she tires easily.
I absolutely love watching you two together. You guys compliment each other so well. Pure joy, thank you for showing us all how to be a couple and enjoy life. 😊 Fall Creek Falls is an amazing TN state park and has a beautiful waterfall. I live near it.
As many times as I've been to Mountain Home Arkansas, I can't believe I haven't made it to the Buffalo River. I will now!
Getting a dog is like a marriage, for better or worse... I have my own challenging puppy, too. It can be stressful, but we're married forever.
Looks like you guys are having a fun. Enjoy. Life is great when you share it with your better half. Stay safe my friend. 😊
We lived off that river before moving to Alaska. We fished there all the time. The kids would swim with our wolves in the river. There are these giant blue butterflies that they loved that were on the shores in the spring and summer. Was my favorite river. Second favorite was the little red river.
I love how you guys switch your travels up. A little cruising & a little nature! 😊 Very Nice!
You need to come to national scenic river is beautiful. The current river area is beautiful!
This is my home area!
I really loved this vlog. It was just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
We did that area a couple years ago but that was before we had our van. North Carolina...we just returned from the Highlands area plenty waterfalls. Happy Trails 🐕
My neck of the woods and have kayaked this river. Love this place!!
Great video as usual! Good job skimming the rocks!👏❤️
Love to float the Buffalo. Welcome to Arkansas y’all
The artwork reminds me of the book, Where the Wild Things Are!!
Love your channel ❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻
That floating canoe ride looks cool! So looking forward to these vlogs!👍
That is one of our favorite spots!! It’s the best to relax!
Thank you for sharing this with me. I just loved it.
Now you are getting a taste of our lifestyle!
Jason, you're thinking of the book "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. We were in Arkansas last week and saw people kayaking on the Buffalo River on our way home. Looked great, and now you've shown us a lot of it! Thanks!!
We belong to a local chapter (Bayou Chapter of the Ozark Society, Shreveport, La.) of the Ozark Society. The Ozark Society was instrumental in establishing the Buffalo National River and is active in protecting the river.
Such a beautiful place! Definitely putting that on my list! ❤❤
Great video ❤❤❤❤
My home state! Love the Buffalo 😍 welcome to Arkansas ♥️
Yes, puppy and traveling makes not a happy time.
Asome can't wait to get our travoto 59k😊
Wise choice about the puppy. Your lifestyle of traveling is really not conducive to having a puppy. That was a good thing for you to do for her❤
I was binge watching some of your older videos this morning and Jason's long hair still makes me look twice.😂
Such a beautiful relaxing river to just get away and enjoy nature at it's finest.
Very Nice Video Superb
Because of the nature of your work, why did you get a dog knowing that you travel 95-100% of the time. I’m missing Pepper already.
right?! and one of the most energetic breeds possible
I agree. Dogs make a human bond from the get-go. When they keep changing hands, they will lose all trust in their owners. Dogs are not throw aways. Be grown up and accept your decision to get a dog and adapt your lifestyle.
@@DonnaBloch exactly!
I need to go there ! !
Float down the broad river in Asheville on a tube! So much fun!
Would have been a great training moment for an Aussie, well any pup
a puppy, especially an aussie hardly deserves to live in a box
Well hello from Arkansas! 😁😁😁
Recommend you visit northern MN-Duluth and north to Gooseberry Falls, Grand Marais…. It’s stunning and you won’t be disappointed!!! I promise!!
Hey Jason and Alisa I'm just saying that the next time you are in the Smoky mountains you must go to the bushes bake beans on route 211 and if you get there at the right time you'll get to meet Duke the dog and also if you get on route 211 also known as Dolly Parton parkway just before you leave Sevierville on 211 you will see the highschool that Dolly Parton went to on the left hand side
Beautiful. My moms family is from Arkansas.
You would LOVE the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. Kayaking Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the Kewennaw Penninsuala. I have some great boondocking sites if you head that way and need some places.
Welcome to Arkansas!
If you are going through that area again and go by or near the town of Leslie, you have to stop and eat at the Skylark Cafe, you wont regret it!
Niobrara River in Nebraska. Lots of outfitters in Valentine, NE. If you’re looking for a little different experience, go tanking on the River. Lazy floating in a stock tank with your cooler and folding chair!
BTW, greetings from the two couples that you met in Fairbanks at the hotel restaurant. It was a real kick.
You are in my territory! Arkansas is a hidden gem. :)
I'm not sure if you know this but you were right in the middle of our waterfall area. Northwest Arkansas has many waterfalls. Early Spring is our peak waterfall season. Do some research on it if you like waterfalls. You can pick up a Waterfalls of Arkansas book written by Tim Earnst with directions to hundreds of waterfalls
Oh I did not!!! We will have to go back and find them! We love waterfalls!!
Hello. Love y'all's videos. When y'all have time you too need to adventure to south lake Tahoe California and go to Cascade falls, the gondola ride at heavenly valley, take the MS Dixie for a ride on lake Tahoe. Then adventure down to Carson City Nevada and just see the beauty of Nevada. That is where I'm from. Especially in the winter time when we have a lot of snow. Love you guys. Coming from Indian hills Nevada.... The state capitol of Nevada Carson City.
Go to Blowing Rock North carolina. It is a beautiful small town hidden in the Blue Ridge moutians.price park is a pretty little campground on a lake.
Maybe you can add some footage along w ur vlog as another couple does (Nicky in Italy)
Harpeth river near Nashville!
You guys need to go to Mammoth Cave national park in Kentucky
I'd love to visit that area! Does anyone know if it's buggy? Do I need to bring mosquito repellent?
Where did you get your hat? I like it!
Hope you guys make your way up to the Indiana dunes, highly underrated location that's rarely covered on CZcams
Niobrara National Scenic River in Nebraska
Understand the puppy situation such a cute pup , have you been to New River Gorge in Beaver, WVA ? You love that area !
Yes! We did the Bridge Walk there… it’s crazy!
Puppies and travel is difficult. Even when we travel with our dogs it can be hard.
What van do you have? Do you recommend this van? I’m looking to rent or buy.
Where’s your puppy in this episode
We left her with a friend
Where is the dog?
Thought the same thing lol
Watch until the end…
😢
At a house where it belongs
Mercury 600 😂 You guys are awesome. Haven’t seen Jason wearing his Red Sox shirt in awhile…. Has it worn out or is he just disappointed? Asking for a MassHole 😂
Oh honey there are bats there.
You may need a puppy sitter when you travel.
Were's Pepper
Lmao
Where's Miss Pepper?
Weird to not watch the video lol
Pepper couldn't swim poor puppy. Lol
Where is pepper?
I hope they didn't eat him.
