At the beginning of July I hiked the Bristlecone Trail, a nice trail named after the Bristlecone Pine trees that you will see there. The trail also offers expansive views of the surrounding mountains in the Lee Canyon area as goes for a non stop incline for the first three miles hiking from the lower trailhead. The elevation gain was a little bit of a workout but I wouldn't consider it strenuous. Until Bonanza Trail junction the trail is wide and level gravel and was popular with trail runners, I believe mountain biking is allowed as well but I didn't see any. Once the trail goes back down to the upper trailhead it turns into more of a classic hiking trail. I enjoyed both
Even though the trail was high elevation it was starting to get hot up in the mountain. I haven't been back since as it's only been hotter but we will be doing more day trips soon. Hopefully I can get some backpacking in again, it been a while.
Thank you for watching, I hope you all have a great week
Beautiful scenery!
You're finding some awesome hiking areas out there! Thanks for sharing!
There's a lot to choose from out here! 😁 Thanks for watching!
😊👍
I recognize that campground. 😉
I didn't realize it was there but there's another campground above McWilliams as well. It also looked nice
😊
Wow
Check out the Basque tree-carvings (arborglyphs). I dislike seeing traces of man in nature, but after seeing some carvings in northern NV, I became a little more forgiving. I think stumps are even more annoying. It seems you can't go anywhere without seeing stumps! Oh, and fire rings... don't get me started! ; )
Need a new video when u have time 😊
What a great trail. I'll have to find some time to travel to that region. It's a shame about the carving, but I suspect the fact that the trees are already carved tricks people into thinking it's OK. And there's no real way to remove the existing carvings to stop the behavior cycle.
