Thanksgiving Hike and Pho | Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas NV

This Thanksgiving Angie and I kept the day simple and just went for a hike at Red Rock Canyon and went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in Las Vegas.
The trail we hiked was the South Oak Creek trail, the trailhead is not in the Red Rock Canyon scenic loop and is free to hike, don't leave any valuables in the car because we did see a busted window on the ground. If you're a tourist in Las Vegas I would not recommend leaving your luggage in your vehicle when going for a hike. Most, if not all, resorts in Las Vegas will check bags for you for no charge, just tip your bellman!
The trail itself was nice, though we should have brought hats to block the sun because the first couple miles are pretty exposed before reaching Oak Creek Canyon. Once we made it into the canyon we hiked until we made it into the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness, we stopped there to enjoy the scenery and take a moment to rest before heading back to the car. It looks like we turned around right when the canyon was getting good so it's definitely a place I want to get back out to and check out more.
Walking back to the Jeep the sun started to set and the temperature was dropping quickly, Angie and I both agreed a nice warm bowl of Pho and some friend rice would be the perfect meal after our hike. When we made it back to the Jeep we drove to our go to pho restaurant, Saigon 8, on Spring Mountain Rd; it was delicious as always!
