Hello, I'm a single 33 year old woman and live in an old house where we have one heater dial for the whole building, which is in my apartment unfortunately. I suffer from heat fatigue and there no air conditioning sleeve in my apartment, and the landlord INSISTS on having it at 71 degrees in the middle of MAY 😡 I recently got me a couple of adjustable wrenches to turn my radiators off. (They put the heat dial under lock and key) I went to loosen up my valves to turn them off and a little bit of fluid leaked out, but isn't a consistent leak. What I want to know is is it harmful for my cat? Can I leave the valves loose so I can turn the dials when I wish, or do I NEED to tighten them back up every single time I need to turn it on and off? I fitted a new en-suite in our place which is a park home the shower tray is low level so the trap needs to be cut through the floor ,everything was golden until the day my missus decided to clean out the basket which pushes in tight into the trap with an O ring seal she however thought she needed to unscrew the trap from the tray .when she told me I couldn’t believe it ,to reassemble I had crawl underneath the home and realign it as it had dropped away from the bottom of the tray and get her to screw the flange back into the trap.Ive told her never to touch it again .Grovelling about under one of these parkhomes is not fun for an old goat like me carrying a bit too much timber around the middle

Hi put new ballvalve in attick because it was over flowing, put new ballvalve in and after a few days it started to over flow so i bent the overflow, now no pressure on electric shower and it goes hot and cold

So, Maybe would it be the siphon sal that was leaking? If not, hard to see where water could come from to go past the 'doughnut'? I'm guessing the water inlet or the overflow could also be a source of a leak? Maybe some food colouring in the sistern would show where any leak was originating... if from the water inlet, no colour. If from the sistern contents then colour in the leakage?

It's not clear if you're talking about a gas or oil boiler in this video. I only work on oil so am unfamiliar with any gas boilers if that the aim of this video. However, on an oil boiler there is a very big difference between a boiler overheat (limit stat tripping) which this video seems to address, and a 'lockout'. A lockout is never to do with boiler overheating, it is a safety mechanism built into the burner to verify that the burner has lit successfully and has not subsequently gone out whilst it should still be lit. It is a function of the burner control box which is completely independent of the rest of the boiler. The burner control box has no idea about circulation pumps and water pipe blockages. It always amazes/concerns me when I hear of engineers responding to a lockout by increasing water pressure or playing around with other parts of the boiler. My advice to customers to explain this better is to imagine that your boiler is a combination of car and caravan with the burner being the car and the rest of the boiler being the caravan. If the engine fails to start (lockout), you wouldn't check the brakes on the caravan.

If you're worried about your privacy and movements being watched it's far too late. Have a mobile phone? A bank card? Subscribe to a TV service? Walk down the street? Drive a vehicle? They've got your number, they know where you live, they know your shopping habits, they know who you bank with, then even know where you went yesterday morning and by what means. Having to show ID to in order to vote is nothing. I've no problem with that if it helps stop scumbags in Tower Hamlets rigging elections. What I do have a problem with is not having a party worth voting for in the first place.

Put the screw in, knock the rawl plug in a little bit, then fill over, you aren't left with a gaping hole to fill. Trust me.

I drive a Jaguar XK8 which sit low on the road & oncoming LED lights can give me momentary blindness. It's quite scary at night & I just try to hold the car in a straight line. My elderly father no longer drives at night.

My plumber is fitting one of these for me. My stop cock was replaced but it is behind the washing machine which is a pain to drag out. This will enable me to shut off the water if I need to in an emergency.

Just get an electric shower. That's gonna solve a lot of people's problems lol

Hello. My loft has 2 tanks, cold water storage and feed/expansion tank. One floor down there is hot water cylinder and the standard boiler is at ground floor. If i buy a combi boiler, can i get rid of the 2 tanks, cylinder and old boiler? Thanks
