  • Not just a plumber, here is my other career. The equipment back then in 1975 cost £10.000. Roll forward to 1997 using a widows 93 pc and a £10.00 software package, managed this sound. See what you think.

Well that was interesting. Thanks for sharing old times. Would you believe I have just carted two worn out 1970s Leak speakers round the tip. Really heavy. Fantastic sound used to come out of them. Still got my Akai reel to reel and Garrard record player though.

I can highly recommend Phill Brown's book 'Are We Still Rolling'. Phill produced & recorded some of the country's greatest artists over 50 years. He recounts his start at Olympic Studios in the 1960's & the changes in equipment & music production over the decades. It'll be right up your street Al.

That's when you had to do things for yourself, now the young just pop the phone in front of themselves and tictoc, you're a star in your own eyes 😂

Great stuff Al, in the 80s I used to sing in a band, (not very good I hasten to add!) I still have the recordings some where of us practicing on old reel to reel tapes. Its funny to hear your old friends and the silly antics we use to get on with whilst recording, happy days
