Whenever I'm at the seaside I'm always slightly uneasy about the fact that there's such a massive body of water out there just a few feet below the level of the beach. It seems that just a tiny perturbation in the movement of the Earth for any reason would dump millions of tons of water onto the land in seconds. When I see video of real tsunamis they are mild in comparison to what I imagine might happen. Fortunately I live about as far from the sea as you can get in the UK. Asteroid Apophis is due in just a few years time.
can't believe the ice cream stall was not open, perfect weather for it. and those nutters driving their cars through the spray! i bet they did not even hose them down to get rid of the salt either.
