I go by the indigo bunting bird, that said W&N is the correct indigo color. I use FC Poly indigo over a brown pencil to create a beautiful more interesting dark/black.

I think this is great. I am in retirement, returning g to a modest kind of talent for art class in school that I left off once I started to pursue college and professional training, and work. I am thrilled how much good instruction is on the web, and how much real fine art you can do with colored pencils, which were almost like a toy when we were kids in the 50s and 60s. A real good foundation, and this is good advice too about pressure and how to lay down color because a lot of retirement age people have some trouble with their hands and need to work more gently. Colored pencils are a beautiful medium if you know how to handle them! Thank you!

Thank you for this video! This was extremely helpful as I'm working on a dinosaur for my son. I practiced with our bearded dragon and the texture on him. It was okay but not as realistic as I hoped. Your tips in this transformed my drawing from okay to....almost great. Love your channel! Thanks again

I love the real distance you take from the pencil tip with your fingers on the barrel to get that feather light application. It took me ages to trust the control that much, but it was worth it. Nice to see someone doing it. I thought this was very nice and you had a lot of control and finesse over the "out of focus" green background. Do you ever use brushes with the solvent, or do you just like the Q-Tips? I used them at first, but I do like brushes for tiny places and edges.

You're not allowed to blend. You're greatly mistaken. You rubbed off the graphite and left behind grey wax. You're basic fundamental knowledge is WRONG. You don't know about this brand. You don't know what makes them different to other professional brands. This is just you misleading the public. You paid for sifting the graphite. Once it's been mixed, you can't unmix it. You can't use a tissue to unmix the mixture. YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO USE A TISSUE TO RUB THE MIXTURE.

I know this is 2 years old now, but still I want to say that I love Pablo pencils. The colour range is so different and lovely. I started with an 18 count set and found that with layering, and use of black and white, I could generate just about any colour or tint or tone that I needed. Gorgeous to work with. I now have the 120 set. They are a dream on toned paper.

I use Clairefontaine pastelmat or Grafix drafting film for all my coloured pencil drawings

I've been following your channel for a couple of years, and I love your content, I like it even more when it's not the content that CZcams obviously pushes, but the one full of your real observations about the techniques and products you show. Obviously I'm not a professional artist, I just like to draw as an amateur, like many here, but I really enjoy your videos. Happy to see your new content when you feel that you have something valuable to tell us and when your life and activities, which are the most important thing, allow it. What's in a word, that by any other word would smell as sweet... Art is a very confusing word today with many connotations. Many people see it as a meaningless term to mean whatever somebody wants it to mean. For some, it means a craft, for others it means beauty, for some it means something spiritual, for others, it means something that challenges society's values, for some people it means a livelihood, others see it as self-expression, and then others see it as anything they want to see it as… even if it is a urinal. So art is a word that nobody and everybody knows what it is. But Gatekeepers are another thing. We all know what that word means. I think what some artists need is to find a patron… if they want to do the European thing. If they want to fashion themselves like that, then they need to have a rich and influential patron, and then they are in the league of well-known European artists and musicians. Gatekeeping otherwise is for delusional peasants. Peasants who pretend they are important, but who don't have a patron to get the really important things done. If you want prestige and fame, get a patron.

Most amateurs/beginners try to take off too much wood. Slow and steady, thin shavings. Remember use a thin blade. HTH

That paper you using in this video is it arches watercolour paper and if so is it hot or cold pressed
