I have the r8 on a triple 3x8 stock Btwin Triban 500. How do I fix the derailleur dropping the chain from the largest to smallest cog? No matter what cable tension, the front derailleur randomly jumps past the middle chainring down to the smallest. Any help is appreciated 👍
I want new hood shifters and their going to be r9.
And cost ?
Going from 8 speed (11-34) to 9 speed (11-46). Will my 8 speed chain work?
Honestly just saved me a lot of hassle, thank you man
hey will fit 12 speed on 9 speed ??
thank you john microshift
What if neither mves.
The Sword 1x is perfect for a commuter build!
Is the noise normal with the clutch activated when stretching the derailleur in advent derailleur?
Is it normal that the derailleur (advent 9 speed) with the tensioner activated to rattle when stretched?
I have noticed, that your guide pulley is not on the same plane as the smallest cog. It is pretty obvious, that far side of the pulley points more towards the hub of the wheel by some degrees. Is it on purpose?
works great. if you use a KMC 9 speed chain and a 38t front chain ring and the 42t rear cog as the biggest you don't even have to resize the chain.
Very nice video! I have a question. I am planning on getting a Microshift acolyte 8 speed rear derailleur. I have a 1 speed crankset and a 8 speed shimano 11-34T cassette that has a capacity of 23. If the Microshift derailleur has a capacity of 41T, what would happen if I used it with a cassette with only 23T? In other words, I cant go past that capacity but is there a possibility of going too low?
what is difference in direct mount or hook mounted?
Still waiting for the hydraulic brakes combo... Make it please
Can we order this groupset online somewhere? I'm a home mechanic I don't need a bike shop
Im confused on how it works
Yeaaaa... I think I'm missing a cog 💀 it broke while riding
резинки(кожухи) с шифтеров(рукояток) слазят, ужасное решение в этом году, я все нервы себе уже потратил
when will that be available on aliexpress to buy?
so helpful
We need trail triggers for the left side on 2x9, most prefer thumb shifting and get no option
still not available in asia market.
Will this finally support 11-51T 1X builds? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Sorry no, max cog is 48t for this cage.
@@microSHIFTTECH i cry 😿
can i fit 12speed hg cassete on standard hg hub?
Depends on the cassette!
Oh yea SOOO stoked to see all the uploads and coverage about this group set today! Cannot wait to try it in the future!
This groupset is absolutely great. Unfortunately it's impossible to find components in South America. It's not even in Amazon. 😢
I am glad you guys went with this paddle shifting system. I dont understand people who like to move the whole lever to shift, it feels terrible.
boa obrigado
gostei obrigado
perfeito obrigado,
Agree with you for trail/enduro bike but not for an XC bike.
I really like that this guy got straight into it, no BS lead up. Just the information we need.
why dont you put cord on and show everyone your poor design
These things are the most confusing devices to work on...
i'm trying to set my rear shifter into friction mode, but the dial won't turn after loosening the torque bolt. any ideas?
Tough to diagnose on CZcams, but I would first make sure you have a model that is friction transferable. We do make some bar end shifters that are not transferable. For more sophisticated service, I would submit a service claim on our website.
@@microSHIFTTECH thanks for the quick response! i managed to fix it by disconnecting the shifter cable from the rear derailleur and turning the dial really hard. it seems like it was stuck for some reason. i had been using it for a few months on indexed mode prior, but wanted to go into friction since i'm using a 7-speed cassette with an 8-speed shifter and it was giving me some issues with my top two gears.
It depends where you ride and how fit you are. Lots of uphill and/or being a weakass, less teeth is more suitable.
I’d love to see them in silver!
Thank you soo much 😵
This is a weel done and informative video. Thanks for making it.
Please new vídeos for e-bikes and Cargo Bikes or Cargo e-bikes. 8 And 9 Speed Durability of the components🤘🏻
My new bike Advent-x cassette is making a grinding sound like it’s slightly loose, but it is tight. Is this the reason?
No, probably not. Grinding noises are usually caused by some kind of adjustment issue. If it's a new bike, the cable housing usually settles a little bit after the first few rides and the cable tension needs to be tightened. Hard to say without seeing the bike in person.
@@microSHIFTTECH Thank you! It turned out to be a bad hub/freehub and not the cassette at all.
Yeah, I setup a 10speed and 11 speed cues on 2 bikes and the cable entrance and barrel adjuster is unforgiving and was awkward for both bikes 😅
I'm here for this
Please tell me, when the switch is positioned above the largest star, it is absolutely not in the same plane with it! That is, it seems to be turned to the side (adjusting the screws H and L does not help) and the stars of the switch are deflected from the big star by about 4-5 degrees. At the same time, when the switch is above the smallest star, it is absolutely in the same plane with the star
This is by design. If the derailleur was in line with the largest cog, it would be out of alignment with the chainrings. The largest cog is inboard of the chainrings, so the derailleur works better if it angles the chain slightly to be in line.
Awesome!
Hi there..what’s the option for cabling/installing when the dropper is an internally connected? Or is it simply not possible? I’ve racked my brains for a while..and can’t see a option for this, without some sort of method to ‘take up the cable slack’ once the dropper is installed into the seat tube. Advice welcome :)
The dropper being internally or externally routed does not affect how the dropper remote works. Internal droppers have a fixed cable housing stop -- the cable housing does not move at all as the post goes up and down.
@@microSHIFTTECH thanks for replying…but it’s not the housing I’m concerned about..it’s the cable. The Sword lever end requires the barrel end of the gear cable. The other end requires most commonly a barrel (or grub screw type) end, to connect with the dropper mechanism. My main issue with using internal droppers, is the ability to connect the cable at the dropper end, when the dropper is out of the seat tube. Essentially (unless you can highlight a technique 😉) you need a cable that’s ‘too long’ to install an internal dropper when the cable’s barrel is situated at the lever end. Is this coming across ok? 🙂

I currently have an Nx 11 speed can I swap in a acolyte 8 speed for e-bike purposes?
Yep! You'll need the full group plus an 8 speed chain.
