I salute the fact that when exerting the noble art of bicycle servicing, long disregarded elements such as black gloves, Hawaii shirts and Mexican trumpets are back in style.
On the bottom you can remove the star bolt holding the lever and the two screws that hold on the bottom cover. That gives you better access to remove cable. Usually it's not wise cuz the inside components come apart but not on these shifters. Youll just remove the covers. Good luck.
This comment should be integrated into the video or pinned. This comment is important in a situation where a cable is torn inside the shifter body, thus making it impossible to push out the cable head without disassembling the bottom cover.
I just got mine installed, it functions well and accurately.
it is excellent value for the price.
is their a way to adjust the spacing between the shifter levers? its a bit awkawark to put my hand down to the up shift lever after down shifting.
Thank you very much
There is a friction issue with Microshift Flat Bar shifters. If your derailleur lags and won’t shift into high gears, and you have cleaned and lubricated the rear derailleur pivots and the shifter cable is clean and free, there is a good chance that the red shifter indicator is binding up in its sliding slot in the housing. I tried cleaning and lubricating it but to no avail. The problem is that it is worn and it is twisting in the slot due to excessive play. Take the top cover off and remove the red indicator and the white link. Throw them away, replace cover. Then the shifter will work fine.
In the video when you installed everything and said position the shift indicator where you want it looked like it was pointed forward of the bars almost.. and it was flush with the brake lever.
It almost looks like either it needs to be flipped to the opposite side of the brake lever or the shifter just doesnt match up with the brake lever very good.
A little concerning 😅 im looking into buying micro shift mezzos to go on my bike with hydrolic brakes..
Ill go try to find more vidoes because im trying to see how these shifters work with the brake levers.
If you want to run your brake levers tilted very downward, then a shifter with an indicator is probably a bad choice. I would check out some of our shifter models without indicators. If you're running brake levers in a flatter position, then it will be easier to position the shifter such that the indicator is more visible.
@@microSHIFTTECH I appreciate the advice. Very true now that I think about my other bikes with no indicators, I like to tilt them and the brake levers kinda downish.
I ended up ordering the microshift mezzo's for my girlfriends bike, I'm switching her cable brakes to hydrolic so I need trigger shifters.
She should be fine with them pointed more forward.
I have TS38 7 speed microSHIFT Thumb Tap Shifter, when I tap on the lower lever till the end it can reach, it makes a total of 3 clicks, isn't something wrong with this shifter?
If a 7 speed shifter only has three clicks, something isn't right. I would fill out a warranty ticket on our website with a detailed description of what's going on.
@@microSHIFTTECH No, it correctly has a total of 7 clicks i.e. 7 steps per the specification, but what I wanted to ask is, can this particular variant TS38 make simultaneous 3 step jump if the lower lever is pushed till the end?
Nowhere this feature is mentioned on your product page but mine TS38-7speed is able to do 3 step downshift if the lower lever is pushed all the way till the end!
Please make a clear video on how to use these TS38 shifters, sometime when I press them, they make 2 step shifts and sometimes 1. Is there a user guide for these?
pressing hard switches to two steps
light pressure - one step

Does micro shift work for shimano??
We do make a pretty full range of Shimano compatible shifters, derailleurs, and cassettes. Each product calls out its compatibility on our website.

It’s not easy as it was shown to change cables.
Takes some practice for sure!
