I'd use floating shelf pins if you are going for the Floating shelf look 👍 You can buy them from amazon or ebay (there may be a link in the description somewhere. Just make sure your rebate for the lighting is far enough away so the pins don't come through it 👍

Hi Mark, I use a place called Lords. I'm not exactly sure what brand the mdf is, but it's the best standard mdf I've bought before and get really good spray finishes with it. I buy my mdf in bulk so 50 or 100 sheets or even a pallet, so I am not sure if they get this from another place. They are very helpful. It may be worth calling them and ask if the type of mdf is the same as singles or in a pack... Cheers ryan 👍

Why not try a paint I'm using at the moment... call Casper or Rob @ Amicus UK. I'm using a 1k paint and it's pretty amazing.

@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop Unfortunately not a UK resident. Is it the dulux diamond you're refering to? I'm using Sigma Tigron Aqua primer and finish.

This is my first project using an airless (graco) sprayer so the problem could very well just be me ;-). Thanks a lot for taking your time to answer my comments. There is slight texture with this paint but the overall finish would is still very good. Im using household/off the shelf type eggshells etc. This video is mainly to compare mdf types, and I found by spraying low, medim and high quality mdf, the finishes im getting were all the same. Cheers Ryan

To be honest I have used pre cat but for flooring etc. They aren't for me tbh, I dint really want to go down the hvlp route as love the speed and simple use of the airless. Plus the pre cat, I couldn't have the smell due to where my workshop is based. Great finishes, but I think I've found a paint now that I'm happy with (Amicus UK, 1K paint ). Cheers ryan 👍👍👍

@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop Thanks for your help. I think buying a HVLP before thinking about the paint has pushed me down buying certain paints. Considering if I really should buy an airless system like the GXFF. Seems like resources such as books and video courses on spraying are so far in between and resources like yours are a godsend.
