Clark old , new & The TOP HAT CLUB 2... revised 11~2022
This video mix of Christmas and other cheer, is compiled from scenes recorded in the Philippines on various trips. Maybe these images can serve as an historical record, since the buildings no longer exist. And much of Clark and other military facilities have changed so much in the past 31-years, since Mt. Pinatubo erupted.
Here, I'll try soothing your winter chill, with scenes from our CLARK/SUBIC experiences of the 80's, & 90's 'til now. Maybe these images will bring back lasting memories, of life in a Pacific paradise.

Hi Virgil! I believe I have seen all of your videos! Thank you, they bring so many good memories to me. I was stationed at Clark 86 - 91. I was a cop so I had to stay after the eruption. Took my wife and my 1 year old daughter to Subic and put them on a ship, then convoyed back through Clark to help pack up homes and resources. Looks like you were there about the same time as I was. Did you work with Rusty Barfield? My daughter turned 1 year old on June 12th, the day of the first eruption. Wish you had more footage. I could spend days watching these. Thank you!

Lived it, hated the outcome. Forced back to the US. One funny anecdote, they offered s truck of apples to all the girls of Subic not allowed to leave. We were amazed how far they could throw them back to us. Especial memory of downing gallons of kool aid on the USS Midway, only to get sick the next day from jet fuel leaking into the water system. Good times. The ash is still visible in front street of my house here after 32 years.

Thanks for sharing the old memories, I've remember that day like it was yesterday when I was stationed aboard the USS Midway, because we also helped with the evacuation of American and Filipino citizens from Subic Bay & Clark airbase and when President George H Bush 41 told President Maria Corazon Aquino that America was not going to pay for all of the cleanup eruption of Mount Pinatubo, but only on the U.S. military bases, so she decided not to renew our leases of the military bases in the Philippines and they were all shutdown.

I still keep the two ceramic decorative figures--- a gift from our family friend, Filipina Lea Eco Werthwein, who's married to Vincent "Jack" Werthwein who worked at the MAC terminal. The pieces were made from the Arts and Craft center. We got the latest news from tuning in to FEN. Thanks to the iconic Sgt. Rusty Barfield. Got my first taste of Baskin Robbins ice cream there.
