  • The scenes captured here, take us back to Luzon, Island, Philippines, 1-year before the 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.
Without the use of modern highways, the drive north, from Clark Air Base to Wallace Air Force Station, San Fernando, La Union and Camp John Hay Air Base, Baguio City, is about 175 miles (1-way).
The mountainous region of Benguet Province, offers a cool climatic break from the heat and humidity of the lower elevations of Pampanga Province, where Clark and Angeles City are located.
This feature includes more recent ground and aerial scenes of today's Clark Economic Zone, the Crater later that remains where Mt. Pinatubo once towered, along with the surrounding of greater Angeles City.

My grandmother on my mother's side worked at Clark AFB when she was a young lady as household helper. She recalls fond memories back in the 60's and 70's working for a major in the USAF stationed there. My grandfather on my father's side worked at Wallace Air Station at San Fernando, La Union (his place of residence). He was an electrician working on generators on the air station power plant. He was given commendations and was awarded US citizenship for his loyal service. Thank you for sharing these videos. I appreciate their stories even more by having a peak of how their life on base was like back in the days.

@@amrithathapar4576 my grandfather petitioned his sons and daughter but my only my aunt accepted. She became a nurse at oxnard, CA. I have visited the US as a non-immigrant visitor. For what its worth he did cherish America. Something the world still does to this day.

Lovely videos and footage of Clark, Wallace, and Camp John Hay. I was born near Clark Air Base and went to school in Baguio. I used to hang out in John Hay most of the time with friends. It bring so many lovely memories looking at this videos compiled together. Thanks for sharing.

@@jrnumex9286 Not as Pinatubo but the earthquake hit Luzon a year earlier. Clark was minor affected.
