What happens when these slightly above league average bats fall off for the stretch run and it’s not any different than still carrying a Haniger a Polanco or France. Can’t rely on just league avg. I’d rather have an Arozarena or a Rooker just based on the track record and potential upside you’re getting. Either way few top prospects will be gone in a few days from farm system. That’s a guarantee. Harrison Ford goes that’s a sign Trader Jerry is going all in on keeping Cal around. I ain’t gonna argue. Farm system is deep. Time to use it. Most of the comments and podcasts I’m seeing are 54% talk. Thought we want more than that?

Until 10 days ago, you were all pie-in-the-sky about this team. You've conducted glib interviews with these players. You've talked about Dylan Moore being a one-man wrecking crew. You've glossed over the flaws all season long. Don't start getting mad now. You had your heads stuck in the ground when the record was good, but this frustration you're showing now is just the long-standing reality finally hitting you in the face. I'm sure it hurts to have been duped by all the power and access the team gave you. There are two facts, one is that the Mariners front office has failed, and the other is that presently, you're under-qualified to be covering major league baseball. You're a fan more than you're an analyst. The good news could be that you'll learn from this fan experience, and it might help you see the game and this organization more clearly in the future. There is a downside to losing the innocence of being a great fan, though. I don't suggest getting too analytical. I struggle to find enjoyment watching this team as it's constructed. I can't enjoy the excellence of Logan Gilbert because I'm too hung up on the fact that he's going to lose half the time in spite of his masterful dominance. I'm missing his greatness because I watched the Mariners waste the greatness of Felix, and I can't watch 2 hours and 15 minutes of this train wreck on any given day (the stupid speed up rules don't make bad baseball tolerable, they actually make it worse)... even though I always love my Seattle Mariners. I'm rambling. My point is that you should admit that you were wrong to be gassing this team up. Be realistic about what the problems are, and hope they get lucky at the trade deadline. There is still a glimmer of hope because the pitching staff is so good. But everyone craves the truth, and you've been feeding your viewers fluffy bullpoop.

Ms can’t go soft at trade deadline. They’ll need to go big because the reality is few of these starters won’t be on roster in couple years. Their demand is too high and frankly Stanton won’t pay for them all. So the window is now into next year to try and get a chip. I can see Ms trading with Tampa Bay for sure. Diaz or Arozarena. I promise you ladies and gentlemen. This will not be a conservative trade deadline acquisition period this year for Mariners. It’s now or never for Jerry and Scott.

I would rather package the 600 ish ops JRod for anybody that is a solid 100 ops average player and some top prospects and a couple of role players.. he is showing he is a below average hitter.. defensively amazing.. but he literally a liability at the plate unless a pitcher hands him a tator

First of all, JP Crawford isn’t good. He’s has one good season in his career. I’m not sure why anyone is shocked he’s back to being below league average this year. Second of all, I think the Arizona trio makes a ton of sense, but if you think we can get Walker without giving up at least in good prospect, you’re in for disappointment. I also don’t get why fans are obsessed with bringing Sewald back. He would not be good in a non-closer role in my opinion.

The Mariners act like they're poor and not profitable. The Mariners can't be sellers at the deadline. You need to have major league talent to be a seller. And we're not giving away any of our major league staff... unless trading Luis Castillo is enough to get a big bat and a smaller contact-oriented, high OBP bat too. Having four very good pitchers is still better than most teams. And it's certainly enough to make a playoff push if the team can just be mediocre. Besides, any 5th pitcher might have a decent outing now and then. Hancock is certainly a capable 5th starter.

Finally, you're not wrong, but is Luis Robert playing well enough to be a worthwhile addition?

If he got to 200 wins & won that 2nd AL Cy Young in 2014, he’d have a shot at the HOF. Unfortunately his arm started to wear down in 2015. His arm by 2019 was done.

I don’t know what the answer is but damn this team has such an ass offense it’s insane they have a winning record let alone the division lead. People are cooking the bullpen but this offense has underwhelmed all year and they think they are close to fixing it. Unless they are facing rookies making their first start they are in double digit strikeouts. No one has played consistently well for more than a few weeks all year.

I went to the games yesterday and today and when I tell you I’ve never been punched in the dick harder attending an Ms game. This offense is putrid. 15 Ks is unacceptable. No major league offense should be striking out that much. Pathetic performance by them and wasting this great pitching staff who honestly will want to move on thanks to cheap management.
