    Felix had no run support, hes one of the best, watching him, the terror he had on the mound... the kings Court. He's the only pitcher with a perfect game, an immaculate inning and a 4 pitch strikeout... the only one in history.... whether or not he makes it. He is hall of fame, one of the best ever. Put him on any other franchise then Ms, he wins a ring

    Mark Cahna has had a terrible July. The only player currently on Detroit's roster that fits this team is Andy Ibanez. Plays multiple infield positions, and he crushes LHP. Which is exactly what we need

    The problem has always been with the cheapskate ownership group, not Jerry. I hope Jerry stays because I think that he's done a great job working under this ownership. But I would not doubt that he leaves and goes somewhere with an owner that will actually let him spend and put a winner together.

    Also, what did we have in 2000 that we didn't have in 2001? That's right, Alex Rodriguez. We didn't have that 35 HR from the right side of the plate. Give me Julio Rodriguez under Lou Pinella, and watch that kid blossom into an elite superstar. Do you know why? Because Lou let his players be themselves as long as they produced. But he also wasn't afraid to give a player the hook if they didn't produce.

    It’s tough to judge Trader Jerry’s tenure simply based off of the ownership umbrella he’s been under. Cheap skate Stanton has had Jerry on a leash for few years. No doubt the trades and free agent acquisitions have been abysmal up to date but there isn’t denying Jerry’s ability to draft and develop solid pitching. Something that the previous GMs like Jack and Bill failed to do. With that said I’m indifferent. Jerry could go kick rocks with his 54% comment but it wouldn’t be end of world if he stayed with franchise either.

    Dipoto has done an amazing job in drafting, developing,and taking haz been prospect starting or relief pitchers mired in the minors and resurrecting their careers. As far as hitters, it aint all his fault i.e White, Lewis injuries to name a few. If you say he cant recognize goid hitting prospects i.e Marte and Regfino i understand ur argument. The odddest, weirdest thing it goes way before Dipoto...listen hall of famer Beltre struggled here for 4 years, Figgins, Cirillo just a couple others struggled here. Hernandez said it best when he left he said i have noting bad to say about the organization but man it was really hard picking up the basl at the plate at T-Mobile. Hitters really struggle here look at not only the M's numbers but opponents. There r so many variables. Pitching as at an all time best but what it the #1 variable is our cheapass owner. Dipoto has balls and will trade top prospects for the right player but is also smart enough not to trade certain player like Gilbet, Kirby, Julio. Listen the only reason why Seattle is struggling is because Dipoto s hands r tied with iwnership cheapness and not being able to get too notch gap hitters with high on base percentage. Not asking for 750 plus ops but guys who put the ball in play like Arresz, Hoerner,Yandi Diaz so on and so forth

    Sorry, while I agree with the vast majority of what you guys said about why Scott sticks with Haniger, I disagree with you on two guys, and both of them for exactly the same reason.
    Both Raley and Robles are hitting BETTER than Haniger, and both are VASTLY superior defensively.
    If your option is one of three guys who all aren't hitting lefties, then why in the world are you running with the only one who STINKS OUT LOUD defensively?!?
    That argument about Mitch's history holds zero value when his defense is so poor, and he hasn't shown ANY ability this year or last year either.
    I don't care what he's done in the distant past, what's he done lately?
    Most importantly, Raley is younger and overall better in every way imaginable, he might be the future, whereas Hanger looks washed up completely.
    Robles, is far better defensively, and in the limited (too limited in my opinion) amount of at bats he's had, has more than earned more playing time, at the expense of Hanger who had done NOTHING AT ALL this year, or last year, to earn the at bats he's getting!
    I just completely disagree, especially if you care at all about outfield defense....

    • @MarineLayerPod
      @MarineLayerPod  Před měsícem

      The question was if they have another lefty masher on the team. They don’t, which is why Haniger still plays. That question does not include defense

    • @fargomonkey5133
      @fargomonkey5133 Před měsícem +1

      @@MarineLayerPod fair enough, but if defense isn't a consideration is it a question worth asking?
      In any case, with or without including defense, I want to see more of Raley, and a lot more of Robles, (who just hasn't been given nearly enough opportunities) either or both over Haniger who has been flat out awful both at the plate and in the field for the last two seasons. It literally can't get much worse.
      Tell me what he's done well the last two seasons.... Yeah I can't either.
      This team is far too slow to move off guys who give us nothing but fond memories.

    • @KalemMo
      @KalemMo Před měsícem +1

      Actually my real full question was.
      “I’d love to get your guys thoughts on why you think Scott continues to use Haniger as a “lefty masher” including pitch hitting. Robles, DMo and even Raley have much better numbers against lefties. Not to mention Haniger’s stats as a substitute are absolutely atrocious. But then even after the ABs he’s a downgrade compared to every other outfielder on the roster defensively. Yet I can think of at least 2 times in the past few weeks where he pitch hit against a lefty including taking out Raley. Why can’t Scott just admit Haniger’s time is done? Your thoughts?”

    • @KalemMo
      @KalemMo Před měsícem

      @@fargomonkey5133I 100% agree with you. That’s why my question was phrased the specific way it was. Scott is looking like him as a lefty masher. But he isn’t and no one else really is. So why does Scott keep treating him like he is. I really wanted their thoughts as to why Scott keeps looking at him like a left masher and can’t move on.
