this is a great take. IF a pitcher can hit his spots Julio will get himself out. The only time he does damage is when a pitcher makes a mistake. And it seems Julio has an 0-2 count half of his at bats. No discipline at all. He looks like me when I play video game baseball. Want to swing every pitch. Terrible.
An interesting take & one I can't agree with. He just got his first hit while playing catcher so now he's 1-17 w/4 BB's while playing the field. In the last 7 days he's 3-17 w/3 BB's. In the last 2 weeks he's 5-31 w/9 BB's. He's hitting .196 for June and .174 for the year. In my mind this is the telling stat though - in the 9 games this June that the M's have scored 5+ runs Garver has a .172 /.250 split w/10K's and did not play in 2 of the games; I don't agree with the belief that those numbers are "igniting the M's offense". I think the M's, in general, have done a "better" job of striking out less this month which is what is really driving the increase in runs scored.
What are you talking about??? Garver needs to be replaced and used as a backup catcher and occasional DH. His June that you are so impressed with.....he is hitting UNDER .200. I don't get your takes sometimes. If you want to be a World Series team you can't be having you DH hit .178. That is UNACCEPTABLE. The great thing about a DH is the guy doesn't have to be able to play defense at all. JUST HIT!!!! He is not good enough.
