Is the sequel going to be delayed? It seems like Xbox wants it to fail by not taking about it at all

People would be a lot more open and responsive to an actual reason even if they were upfront that it's about the money instead of just falling back on PR speak to deflect that we KNOW it's about the money. Just give some genuine honesty about things.

I think there has been a long fighting war at xbox with mircosoft suits. The xbox team wants to the best for xbox as a brand and the ms suits just care about the profit margins. They way you get the xbox team saying one thing and yet do things that contradict what they are saying. Corporations are going to corporate i just need them to stop talking about stuff they have no control over. And yes cod will not be going into gamepass but the plain level maybe only ultimate with a price increase

I just finished Hi-Fi Rush (on PlayStation, because I never really trusted Xbox in the first place), and the story ends up feeling extremely meta. ***SPOILERS*** The final line from the evil executive final boss "this is just too much work" and then explodes. The final line from Chai after the credits roll: "Need a backup job in case this doesn't work out" This feels like some Simpsons-level predictions from Tango Gameworks 😭

People like to say ‘how rich can they get’ but I’m sure most everyone’s 401k had MS stock in it. And it’s stock value isn’t just how they are doing now, but what does their future look like. AI, cloud, and Office are killing it with the first two being the future. If the gaming division isn’t cutting the muster, something has to change.

Tim's point about Xbox inheriting Hi-fi rush is quite flawed. What was the point of acquiring the studio if not for what they were already working on?? And if they acquired it for a different project, then why not just scrap it and get to work on the new thing that would, supposedly make millions?? So this whole thing of Xbox not planning on having Hi-fi rush as a stellar game makes zero sense

Lost what trust? Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, EA, Take-Two, Embracer, etc. are all the same: meat grinders only focused on EBIT. "Trusting" any of them is non-sensical. Currently the kids and I are on an Xbox Series S and Game Pass. Once we don't get value for money, we'll jump elsewhere - maybe Sony, maybe Switch 2, maybe Steam deck ... zero loyalty and no attachment is the only way to go 😆

I think somewhere along the line, the people in charge over at Xbox misunderstood how people (and math) works. They wanted to buy Bethesda and Activision and assumed that all (or most, or many) of the existing customers for all of those popular games (Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty etc.) would simply go "huh, I guess I need to buy an Xbox and subscribe to Game Pass/Live now to play my games" but that's not how the gaming community works. Instead people just kind of went "huh, that's stupid, I guess I won't buy those games" which lead to a huge loss of Playstation customers who would have otherwise bought, for example, Starfield. So Microsoft/Xbox bought a profitable publisher, made them exclusive which artificially downsized their audience, in hopes of growing their platform. Uh. Wait. What.

I honestly have never had any interest in Xbox, and even less in call of Duty. So the two of them together for me is very low on my priority list. Now Hi Fi Rush, however, was on my radar. So more call of duty and Bethesda games is a loss in my opinion.

I think Tim was right about Xbox just dumping Hi-Fi Rush and then being surprised that it had a positive reception. Xbox was probably planning on axing the studio the whole time. Xbox needs to have a huge shakeup of leadership.

While I like to be foolish and act like we live in a normal world, there is always lies, deception and trickery all around us. Tim, roughly at 24:05 (or so) you're not exactly off with your ideas, call it a crazy man idea wearing a tin foil hat but honestly i think you're onto something. I think alot of us knew xbox game pass wasn't sustainable an we were just kept being told it was the best deal In gaming year after year when there video game output from there own studios from within was slow an non existence the proof was in the pudding for years...its sad to see that it took a bunch of consolidation an people losing there jobs for everyone to finally admit it

I don't understand why i should continue to stay in the Xbox ecosystems when they actively butcher any studio capable of anything unique or creative. Why would I continue to put more money into a company that actively makes the gaming ecosystem so much worse. Thousands of people out of the job just so Microsoft can make more money from harvesting mobile data and CoD macrotransactions? Nah man. I'm still on Xbox because gamepass is a good value that was supposed to allow studios to do smaller and interesting things. Let them make art. But now gamepass is just a subscription fee for CoD and Gears. Halo is free to play. CoD has a free to play mode that gets the primary focus of development. I'd be shocked if gears multi-player isn't free. What the hell is the point now? So I can get access to indie games I've owned on steam for years?

I think it can be simply summarized: closing Tango invalidated the vast majority of what might be considered Xbox's mission statement. Tango checked nearly every box of what they claim to want (and continue to claim to want even after closing them), and yet they were closed. Their mission statement is now proven to be an empty promise, and there's no reason to believe anything they claim to seek. I say this as a LONG time Xbox fan. In one action they managed to burn every ounce of trust one could possibly have in them, because their actions were completely senseless.

I'm just glad they aren't aiming for Metacritic. It is an EVIL platform that encourages unethical and untrustworthy reviews. How can any review be taken at face value when the score directly impacts if the developers get paid or not?

Just watched the Sarah Bond interview on Bloomberg: that's not an exec. being unprepared, that's a person trying to put on a brave face while shriveling up inside. Yeah, I know, she'll be fine when she gets ousted in a bit, but still hard not to empathize.

Haven't been able to finish this game since having a few psychotic episodes myself it really makes me uncomfortable.

GamePass needs to change. Day1 games need to be multiple platforms, and all other games should be given a one year period to garner their own sales before going to GamePass. In other words all "AA" games can be day1 but should also be multi-platform, and "AAA" games just can't be day1 for GamePass to continue.

Why is everyone thinking Call of Duty HAS to be on Gamepass? If Microsoft puts COD on Gamepass, it will LOSE TONS of revenue and will have trained its players to never buy that game again. The math doesn't work. You can't make AAA games and spend AAA money and give it away on a subscription service -- and ESPECIALLY not one with only 20-30 million users. No way. MS is going to lose SO MUCH money.

What is Greg talking about? Blessing is right. Xbox CHOSE to buy Activision and all these other studios. Xbox COULD have sought other ways to secure exclusives. Greg seems to think Microsoft HAD to buy ALL the studios and shut down these other companies to keep what they want. That's just not true. There are other ways to secure exclusive talent. It's called second party games -- something Nintendo and Sony do ALL THE TIME. Xbox, however, has no leadership and no talent in curating creative and game studio. If this wasn't obvious before (e.g., Rare, Lionhead), its buying of studio after studio after studio, and the sheer lack of production and now closure, just establish the idiocy of this leadership. Bond, Booty, Greenberg, Spencer - they're all overpaid executives who only know how to rattle their mouths. They're all 101 case studies of imposter syndromes.

Xbox is dead. The brand has zero trust left. Absolutely shocking to see how utterly poorly Sara Bond handled that interview. Wow - that is a multi-million dollar paid executive?? She is so beyond unqualified to run that company, as is the rest of the c suite of that division -- Matt Booty, Aaron Greenberg and Phil Spencer. All of them deserve pink slips.
