Why is Andy here for the stellar blade review when he has played 0% of the final release of the game?
He played the demo.... but usually kindafunny has one person who played the whole thing...the reviewer. And that is Blessing this time.
Being compared to another great game shouldn't be a negative, but other then that this was a good review.
I mean originality and freshness are definitely worth bringing up as a critic. doesn't mean they'll necessarily matter to players

@@Dan-hz4vf It depends on if it just feels like they're trying to copy another game or if its done terribly. For example Jedi: Fallen Order does things similar to a soulsborne game but it doesn't feel like it's trying to be a copy of it. Its its own thing with shared elements.
@@tylerrichardson3034 Yea, but Stellar Blade does not feel, play, or navigate the world in anyway similar to Nier - it's much better in all aspects. If we're talking story, they're still very different so far, especially in how they tell the story.
If Blessing's main complaint about this is that it seems too familiar and reminds him too much of Nier - then that's fine with me personally as I've never played those games so that won't be an issue.
I honestly hadn't much interest in this game until I tried the demo, and I was very surprised at how fun it was to play. After seeing the positive reviews pretty much across the board, this is definitely one I'll pick up this weekend

Hard R isn't something I am aware of and I've been living in the USA for 20+ years, I don't think it's intentional for shift up, and it's evidence that they are removing it right away after being noticed by developers.
I wonder if the devs meant for the sign to read as “Hard” as a sexual faux pas but didn’t think about the “r” at the end because it looked more natural in the environment. They probably have no idea what the colloquial “Hard R” means in the US. 😂

Hyung Tae Kim is a thirst trap artist and that's ok because ALL his characters are thirst traps. The men, the women, EVERYBODY. He's been doing it for over 25 years. I remember his design with on the Korean RPG Magna Carta and his drawings are a big part of why I'm good at character shading.
Yh looking at his work I don't see it. I just see generic anime dudes with their arms showing? But like 75% of his characters seem to be women anyway.
The dudes I've seen in Stellar Blade specifically are hyper realistic and covered up which makes them look a little weird standing next to Eve who looks like a lifeless sex doll.

Stellar Blade looks really good. I'll probably pick it up once I'm done streaming my platinum run for FF7 Rebirth. We getting through the hard mode tonight 💪

I don't know if it's ignorance or being from Scotland and just not having a clue, but I've never heard of that term that was seen in Stellar Blade. I literally had to look it up because IGN weren't explaining what it was and I couldn't for the life of me figure it out myself.
The hard r Is such a stupid complaint. No one outside the US would ever know what it means .if no one told me what it was I would never know what it meant . Also it’s obvious that the developers had no idea either .

I definitely had to look this R thing up being from England and an older dude. I had absolutely no idea and the first things I came up with were that they were being naughty like the boob thing, like "harder, harder!"... Or maybe joking about a hard R rating for the game because of the cheekiness. All sorts of things like that. I had absolutely no idea what you were talking about here and it definitely translates as a very shitty thing indeed huh!
As I said to start with, just goes to show you need people looking through all sorts of aspects of games with a fine tooth comb.
This is Transistor meets the best of Nier. I wish the combat and parry was faster though

Having watched multiple SB reviews, this is the broad consensus:
+ Great combat (narrower parry/dodge windows than Sekiro)
+ Good boss battles
- Paper thin characterizations
- Repetitive fetch side quests
Aggregate Score: 8ish/10
Gonna keep my expectations tempered, Lies of P knocked it out of the park and if SB can come close it'll be good[

Rebirth is also a "last harah" for UE4. Especially as an open world game which UE4 is supposed to be terrible for. I'm sure the 3rd Remake game will also be UE4 again because I doubt they want to switch engines at this point.

I am all for new studios emerging from other countries of Asia but I hope they won't all end up samey. I loved Lies of P. I think I am gonna pick up stellar blade when it is not 70 dollar and black myth wukong is at my radar. But already these 3 games seem very similar. 3rd person action games with inspiration from other popular games. And the games they are inspired from are the same games.

Some people, icluding me, like to platinum a game multiple times if we really like it. That's why I don't autopop between PS4 and PS5, I want to get those trophies again, plus its another platinum you can get, that you know you're capable of getting and enjoy getting. If the trophies didn't carry over and I could earn them again on PC that would be an incentive for me to play these games on PC, but since they don't I'm probably not going to.

If you haven't played either of them because they don't look interesting then no, if you are interested in soulslikes, play elden Ring, sekiro, ds1, or ds3 before you play this

Playstation Day and date is near. You don’t invest in a PS overlay for PC unless you are committed to multi platform.
They already are committed to releasing their games to PC, thats why so many are on PC, but I think day and date is a little bit of a stretch, more like a timed exclusive on their console and goes to PC after a year.
Blessing is so multifaceted in his reviews and what he plays it’s super refreshing, love to see it!!
Thanks for this guys, I’ve been yearning for more Automata stuff for some time now and Stellar Blade definitely draws inspiration and will scratch that itch. The cosmetics are hella enticing though have to admit 👀

Bringing on more employees means that they HAVE to bring in more money consistently over time so they can keep paying those employees and avoid layoffs and downsizing if money gets tight. They’ve been pretty good about growing slowly and steadily, they don’t owe anyone an increased risk of the company struggling.

So I didn’t know what was going on when they were talking about the r thing. I thought it was about an R rating like how things are rated M for mature. So I was like why are they making a big deal of something which seemed like nothing. It was only until I looked it up and found it was connecting to a super racist thing. Some context here is super important cause I can’t be the only one who wasn’t aware what the developers might have been reference. But there is no background info before KF talks about it. We just have to know what that phrase means. Again not everyone is aware so give some context so the audience knows.

Hard R probably is just a play on words with "Harder" rather than what you're thinking. Really doubt the korean studio knows has the R word in their lexicon.

I keep coming back to this channel in hopes for actual content and yet I have found that some people that work for KInda Funny are just there to promote their own content. Why does Andy who plays games like Stellar Blade choose not to for his employer but will most definitely play it day one for his channel. In the age of Layoff's I think we have to start asking the question are some people just not invested to their job.
I think he realized if Janet doesn’t have to play games on this channel to be featured then why should he.
I just miss when gaming podcasts where more the 1 person played the whole game. Kinda Funny has been complaining that this year has been dry on games yet they don’t have time to finish them.

The culture war is real. If you’re a parent you should be very afraid. Leave the children alone. As for this game, don’t play it in front of children or anyone who is very sensitive to this type of stuff. It’s rated M for a reason. Remember when you were 7 and your parents said no violent video games but you got them and played it anyway. Stellar Blade is kinda like that, it’s for adult gamers, not kids or your grandparents to watch. Yeah, she’s very sexualized and it’s ok. It’s catering to a specific audience and again that is ok too. If you try to create a product that tries to please everyone.. guess what… it always falls short. I’m just happy to see that gaming can be for everyone. If games didn’t grow up with me I don’t think I’d still be playing them. As for the hard R. I thought it meant rated R, not racist. Yeah I said it, but come on it doesn’t make sense. Why racism all of a sudden? Wasn’t the issue over sexualization? In movies we place R ratings when women are overly nude and sexualized. This game would be a hard R. Idk makes more sense to me this way.
