Keep at it guys, the growth is amzing and the energy is infectious! Really cool to watch a team grow and evolve. Im a combat vet with severe PTSD, my best friend died of epilepsy 2019, David was alot like you all, or maybe Im looking for him in yall, I miss him so much. This is not Xbox, but Mike reminded me of a couple launch stories. I’ll tell this one for now.
In November of 2006 my mom and I woke up at 3:30AM to go to the local Target to buy the Wii. It was like a 20 minute drive. We get there, and there’s a small line already. Target employees come out explaining that they don’t want people waiting, so they handed out a shopping list that you would check off and turn in. They would give you a number, and said to come back around 6 or 7, and they’ll have your order ready for you. So in the meantime, my mom and I went to a Denny’s nearby, and we had breakfast for a bit before returning to Target. Eventually the time came they were letting in the customers to buy their consoles, and they had my order ready just like I checked off on the list. I got the Wii, an extra controller, Excite Truck, and Twilight Princess. Obviously Wii Sports was packed in. We went home and I played the Wii with my sister and even my mom and dad. It was a magical day.
Nothing will ever been more for me than trying get a PS5 launch week, Four browser tabs open -- stayed up for three days straight finally got It on the last day, and even then it took three weeks to get it.
Thats really smart and considerate of Target to have done that

Man that sports talk brought back horrible memories of last years soccer season when my Philly union got crushed by LAFC in a penalty shootout.

The achievement system is mostly fine. The only recommendations for changes I'd make would be adding a Platinum trophy equivalent, some way to signify someone has 100% a game.
And also maybe a way for someone to highlight a handful of whatever achievements someone on their profile for people to see when they click on it. Just would be cool.
I don't care what news breaks, whenever Gary returns that has to be the title of the episode.

My biggest ask for years with achievements is being able to delete games with achievements already unlocked. For example, my brother played a game that I had no interest in playing and unlocked one achievement and now it's counting against my ratio. I'd like to be able to delete games where maybe one or two achievements have been unlocked for game either I didn't want to finish or that someone played without me knowing on my system and account.
Just letting you guys know this is my favorite KF segment of the week. I dont usually get the chance to listen until the weekend but it's always a pleasure when I do

I think Mike needs to realise that his idea of “fun” is different to many other people when it comes to sports games. To many people a simulation is what is fun, they enjoy the accurate representation of a sport and don’t want arcade silliness. You can’t say a game isn’t fun just because it’s realistic.
If people are looking for a good tennis match to watch. 2017 Australian Open Finals Federer vs Nadal. Just a shoot out between some of the greatest to ever play.

Me and my boy literally battle it out every month to see who can get the most points for the month. 😂 it's a competitive and fun side quest to throw into my love of gaming.
Achievements need dlc achievements separated too. And a completion medal or something of the sort like the platinums
My fondest memories when i used to be console gamer was 1vs100 on xbox.
Been achievement hunting since late 2009, still at it. 💪
The biggest thing Xbox needs to the add to the Achievement system is have a separate DLC list like PlayStation's.
Actually some xbox games (the main one I remember is one of the battlefield games) would record a clip when you got an achievement but most people hated it because it would be like a clip of the most boring events, hence why no one does it anymore. Playstation still takes a screenshot as far as I know which often leads to just having a menu as your achievement picture.
Imagine thinking achievement hunters are dying while being on CZcams. Channels have started popping up solely on achievement/trophy hunting
Less XBox communication would definitely benefit them, as would reducing leaks. For emergencies, they could for sure use XBox Wired more.

What about some sort of Copilot (AI, whatever) system of creating achievements on the fly, rather than something that the developer decided. Then older back compat games would get achievements as well

Mass Effect 3 MP was awesome. It was a shame ME Legendary didn’t have MP. I’d pay for an updated stand alone version today. Hell, put a battlepass in there, idgaf just give it to me.
my 'big win' was being accepted to my city's magnet high school via the lottery system
I never owned an xbox console until i was wayyy older on life. As a teen, I wld always go over to my friend’s house who had all the consoles and we’d usually play on Xbox.
My favorite memories were playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory foe the first time with my friend watching me play. It was such an incredible moment for us. I’m such an MGS fanboy and so we had a lot of fun debates about Snake vs Sam but I was still blown away by that game. I know Splinter Cell is multiplatform but since then I’ve aleays associated that series as an Xbox series.
Regarding the limited edition consoles. It's may not be feasible to get those to a full retail chain. But they've already solved this issue with the wraps. Why aren't we seeing more of those?
1000% people thought the console wraps were just stickers and thought $50 or whatever was insane. No one knew they were well made fabric lined folding sleeves that are very very nice. I got the Starfield one and love it. I can't believe there isn't at least a Halo or Hi-fi Rush one already. I got money on they are gonna drop the whole product, which is sad.
Simple:
It's much cooler to say to someone "I got the platinum" for x game, then saying "I got 1000 gamerscore" for x game.
Dont play Xbox as much as before, but still like getting achievements
I don’t think Xbox should release 2 SKUs again unless they both have the same cpu and gpu. Too many developers have complained that if they have to continue backward compatibility when next gen starts plus another 2 different consoles. Add into that another PlayStation, switch 2 and the cost of development becomes too high for them.
If they can create an Xbox that will run pc code at medium/high settings so they don’t require additional work for Xbox consoles then I think that would appeal to developers.

I'm with Mike on achievements, but also agree with Paris that it needs updated.
I personally don't see it as broken, but it's also not rewarding so I don't hunt them. You know what game made me hunt them though? Spyro reignited. Why? I got cool concept art wallpapers for my console with each achievement. If more developers where on board with that instead of these tiny emblems that look awful as wallpapers I'd probably go for it. Heck, make unique dynamic wallpapers for people who hit 50% and 100% on a game.
And for the love of God, do not bring back the automatic clip recording. They just clog up my library of Bethesda titles breaking in spectacular ways.
I love achievements, PlayStation's is great. Just really enjoy comparing it with friends at the end of the year. XBox improving their system would be awesome.
I love achievements still; but the ultimate problem with them now is the lack of a Platinum trophy and as more games get updates for years the 1000 means less and less as many popular games continually get updates into the multiples thousands of points.
As a trophy guy as well I much prefer the percentage based approach with an overall level.
As you hit the really large 100,000 plus GS number each individual achievement means less as the next big milestone is almost unattainable.
For me today the chase is focused on platinums, I’d like Xbox to have something similar.

I couldn’t get into POP the lost crown. Had just finished the Ori games. And for me lost crown didn’t come close. Neither did the demo for tales.

Trophies killed achievements 🤷♂️
What I want with the achievements is that they update the numbers for games on gamepass to really reflect how many people really played the games. Because every single game that is or has been on game pass gets the achievement numbers completly fucked by thousands of people who started the game once and never played again. It makes the % completely irrelevant and so the hole system becomes irrelevant.

Disappointed to hear about the achievement issue. Basically the entire reason i lost interest in gaming. 360 achievements always worked and a bugged achievement was incredibly rare and would almost always get fixed asap. It’s the new normal on the Series X.

Next-gen if there is one, Xbox 32 etc etc. Always a bigger number, always Xbox.

I think they're so similar - except for the platinum. Popping a platinum is the most satisfying thing.
