Helldivers 2 has been the go-to game for my brother and I and our group of online friends. I can’t get enough of it and I love the community and meta-narratives that have come from the game!

He seemed to be entirely against it for it some reason. I want to know what his criteria was for being nominated because he said helldiver wouldn't get it based on popularity alone but then went around and said that balantro would get one. Ummm OK....

It'll be nominated for Best Multiplayer for sure, but GOTY is still far from a guarantee.
I know I would definitely buy more Nintendo games if they went on sale more often. It'd be interesting to know if they would actually make less money than they are now if they went for that strategy. They used to have $20 "Nintendo Selects" lineups, but those were on consoles whose sales didn't stay as strong for as long as Switch has. But yeah anyway I don't think Sony should follow them on the "no big discounts" thing.
This is the Dylan from the question, and it is definitely more of a thought experiment. I 100% buy more games because of discounts, but I am honestly not sure which approach would raise the companies top line more. To your point, Nintendo may very well be the ones missing out in the equation and not Sony.

Given that Nintendo is Japan's richest company and most of their money comes from software sales, it is abundantly apparent that they would make less money if they offered deep discounts as soon as Sony does. Remember, basic economics, discounts offer short term profit gains but cause sales to curtail profoundly after the sale.

They've changed criteria for some trophies to match the content available in the game
Destiny 2 has 2 platinum's. The first being the base game platinum, but the second platinum requires you to complete The Last Wish raid, & unless you complete that, it puts you at 97% completion overall.
When players join my game they’re higher level and just do everything.. I can’t get a shot in because I don’t have the weapons or stratagems.

I wish I could play Helldivers 2 but I haven’t been able to in nearly a month. The game crashes every mission. It literally played better at launch for me then it does now. Have sent in multiple support tickets with 0 responses.

Not talking during helldivers 2 sessions is one thing.. there's pings and in-game ways around that... but to say that you're usually multi-tasking when playing??? Yeah, I dunno why you're not getting the most out of the experience 🧐
Helldivers 2 is life. I have FF7 rebirth which should be my dream game.. and all I wanna do is Helldive haha.
I've fallen off Helldivers, hard. It was initially a lot of fun, but the more I play it, the more frustrated I become with it.
The single player experience is horrendous with an ever growing community of griefers. I cannot tell you how many times I've dropped into a mission and 1 or 2 people are hell bent on just killing you at every opportunity.
If it's not griefers, it's assholes kicking you for not having their idea of a META build, making finding a game to join extremely frustrating and demoralising.
I still have fun playing with friends, but as an adult, trying to get the squad together all at the same time is a task in itself.
I absolutely despise the kick system in HD2, and I don't think it belongs in quickplay playlists.
The meta build thing hasn’t been relevant for almost a month. I can’t say I’ve experienced anything similar other than newbies sometimes not understanding the mechanics fully
I have like 115 hours in helldivers 2. I've never had a griefer in my game, but do get kicked when joining from time to time (even at lvl 50), I chalk that up to people not making private lobbies when they want private lobbies
not gonna lie, i hate the whole "stellar blade is saving us from the sjw's" talk but just as bad is the whole "i like stellar blade but its NOT because of the boobs, i swear!". its so silly trying to convince people you dont like the jiggle physics

I’ve listened since they rebooted this podcast and it’s definitely time to move on. Compared to a certain other PlayStation podcast this one feels so pointless.
You don't like Snow Bike Mike and his 90's morning radio style of delivery. The whole allure of these type of non corporate outlets was authenticity and real people. That guy doesn't honestly engaged in any conversation. He is just waiting to speak and move the topics along. He just repeats "I love that" in response to anything another person is saying. He is probably a nice guy and is very professional. He will always have a career in media. He mixes with this style of content like oil and water. having him
I don’t think it’s a KF problem, I think it’s a PlayStation problem. PlayStation at this point never say anything, so there’s nothing to really talk about.

Bro Nintendo does not put out more high level exclusives. Theres Mario which has been falling off since Galaxy and Zelda which is very divisive. Playstation makes way more and better exclusives.

Yeah this is exactly false. The key tell in your delivery is using the meaningless zoomer term "falling off" to really signify that you are unqualified to reasonably speak about this, even more so when you attempt to apply it to Mario, who this generation has released its greatest 3D platformer, a top tier 2D platformer, and a succesful true open world 3D platformer experiment. Zelda is only divisive to a vocal minority of people, and the general populace puts it on the very highest level of video game achievement there is.
To say PlayStation has better exclusives than Nintendo is purely a matter of personal preference, that being said however it is categorically false that PlayStation releases more exclusives than Nintendo. For example, last year Sony put out 5 first party exclusives. Nintendo put out 9. In 2022 Sony put out 5 again, whereas Nintendo put out 10. 2021, Sony puts out 4, Nintendo does 10. And in 2020, Sony released 3 exclusives, and Nintendo did 11. To do the math for you, in the past 4 years Sony put out 17 games, and then Nintendo put out 57 first party exclusives. Now in what universe is 17 > 57?
Now as for the better exclusives part, I personally feel a Nintendo exclusive categorically decimates a Sony first party exclusive. Your arguments against them here aren't sound. Even if I give you Pokemon, and you concede ground on Kirby, your stance on Pikmin is simply that you bounce off it. That isn't in any way a measure of its own quality, but your own inability to engage with it to even determine its quality; a personal failing. Metroid is also definitively not MIA, Metroid has had a new entry in 2021 of exceptional quality and a high profile rerelease of its best game just last year. By no metric is that MIA, unless by your own logic every single non-Spider Man Sony title is similarly MIA?

You lack fundamental understanding in many aspects. First of all, you claim to exclude remakes or ports from PS4 games yet you include: God of War (both games on PS5 were ported from PS4), Horizon Zero Dawn (again, both games were ported from PS4), The Last of Us 2 (exactly a remake from PS4), and Spider-Man (you specifically don't point out 2, so you must mean 1 which was originally a PS4 game). So you undermine your own point there.
Secondly, you don't seem to know what a first party exclusive is, since you include Dragon's Dogma 2 (a Capcom game), Kena (an Ember Labs game), 2 Final Fantasy titles (Square Enix games), and Deathloop (an Arkane title). Sony contributed nothing to the development of these games, at best publishing one of these games (Kena), and just doing marketing and exclusivity deals.
If I were to take you at your word, your list would only 5 games. Quite pathetic and paltry.
Nintendo games can be gotten on sale all the time. Please stop with the "never on sale" false narrative.

@@aoBubsWho said anything about $20?(though I did get NSMBU Switch for $15 last year) I just said on sale. I got Tears of the Kingdom for $54 at launch and also got Mario RPG, Mario Wonder and Pikmin 4 for $40 each at each of their launches. Saying nintendo games only see a max 10% discount is flat out false.
