ABOUT THIS VIDEO
====================
In this video I explain my experience using Dromedary bags for storing overland vehicle water. These are a big improvement over water jugs and make your water last longer. Great for camp clean up, but not recommend for drinking since they can make the water taste weird.

    Hey brother what do you think about the 35x12.50 Falcon Wildpeak R/T tires? They are a bit on the heavy side 79.2 lbs E-10 Ply; however, I believe this may be a great tire. Would you consider trying these? I AM STILL DECIDING.

    • @NorthwestBronco
      @NorthwestBronco Před 4 dny

      Great question. I've heard great things about the Falcon Wildpeaks. I doubt you would go wrong with a set. I chose the Toyo after doing a big spread sheet. Every tire had one or two things I didn't like except the Toyos. They checked every box except the cost. 79 pounds is a heavy tire, that would not make the cut on my spread sheet. The E rating would make me wonder about the ride. Hmm. I'd prefer a C or D. If Toyo's were not available, I'd go with the BFG Muds. The KO's tread is a bit to tight together for my taste, making me wonder about the muddy trail performance. Hope this helps!

      @ndm8447 Před 4 dny

      @NorthwestBronco yeah I'm thinking I like Dply as well but wonder what the true size of those Falkens are, I have also been debating ehrther to go 37 or not and I figured a really big 35 is more preferable than a smaller 37. I also don't want to exceed 80lbs. Falcons are 13 inch wide and with a nice offset wheel could look good but that DPly worries me a bit for the ride. I do think you could beat them up and still get good mileage out of them.

      @@ndm8447 I would avoid 37" tires unless your willing to change EVERYTHING to suite them. I'd check with the Bronco6g forums on what those changes are. I know there's steering, speedo, and the Ford performance pack to boost the power. In regards to 35" the size difference is minimal between tires. I'd focus on the specs and performance of each tire.

    I am a Rotopax or water jug kinda guy myself. I have several of those same MSR bags as well, and carry them with me in the desert in the event I need more capacity - along with a filter system that I put together many years ago that renders swamp water almost as clean and sterile as distilled water. However, I don't use them for drinking water as although they are safe, they put off a taste that can kill a cup of coffee.

    Great video. Definitely answered some questions for me. Did you try to fit the Dometic CFX3 45? I heard the footprint is the same as the 35 but taller. I’m about to buy the 45 but after watching this may have to change my mind.

    • @NorthwestBronco
      @NorthwestBronco Před 15 dny

      Thank you for the kind words. If the footprint is the same, the CFX45 should be fine. The only issue would be if you have a drawer the fridge sits on. The height COULD be an issue without a slide out for the fridge. I found the slide out bolted on top of the drawer system rattled so I removed it. If the fridge just sits on the floor, there would be plenty of head room for the fridge. Hope this helps!

    I would also ditch that add on tent. Install an ARB or Ironman4x4 awning and attach either brand of room tent. Both have floors, lots of screen window area that can be covered with install zippered panels. Also, can be installed on either side of the rig.

    • @insaynbcr
      @insaynbcr Před 2 dny

      @@mistercampwell Yup. Being a pain to set up and only on one side was my point entirely to just ditch that particular tent, and if additional coverage is desired, any good brand of 90° awning paired with an awning room will do the trick. Also, the RTT need not be deployed to use said awning and or awning room.

    You might get better mileage aired down off road as the tire will roll over rough terrain rather than hitting them and slowing the tire down and forcing it up. If you feel the tire hitting terrain that’s the car reacting to the terrain and that transfer of energy could reduce fuel economy off road, not to mention your own throttle inputs on and off for smaller rocks you might just maintain speed and roll over if you’re aired down. No science just opinion but I always air down if for no other reason to reduce wear on all components. Thanks for the informative videos.
