Appreciate the video. Seriously thinking about the Toyo RT D installment on my jeep. I was concern about the road noise so thanks for the insight....I like the look of the 315 ..really nice looking tire.....please keep us Toyo RT enthusiasts up to date...
Thank you. Will keep the updates coming!
Get them they look great. You won’t notice any noise tires are super quiet.
@@rgomez204 Thank you for the comment!
Really appreciate the videos on these tires. There’s not a whole lot out there in terms of reviews on these, so I’m definitely glad you’ve been putting stuff out. I run 37 inch Nitto Trail Grapplers on my Jeep JK, but I’ve been very interested in these due to them being so much lighter than a Trail Grappler, Ridge Grappler, and Toyo MT, but still having a very aggressive sidewall
Thank you for the kind words. I ran all those numbers as well. Seemed like every tire had a fault I didn't like. This was the only tire that made the cut.
I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a set! (As of Now)
Any new thoughts after owning them for a little longer? The only thing holding me back as of now is the tread depth. It’s definitely muchhh less than my Trail Grapplers. And I’m now going back and forth between the RT Trails and the new Falken AT4Ws because of their tread depth and snow capabilities. I worry that after 20k miles the RT Trails will basically be the depth of an all season tire because they start at such a low tread depth compared to the competition
Looks like they are doing well! I just hit 15k on my KM3’s and the wear is concerning. Very soft compound. Time will tell, happy with their performance though. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'd be interested in seeing a review video on your concerns. I almost pick up the KM3's. Still may someday.
Only 30 days or so in I am loving these so far on my Wrangler JKU in 255/80- so an E rated tire. I'm currently at about 30 psi and that seems a good spot for daily and some frequent dirt road driving here in NW Phx. These replace a set of C-load Falken Wildpeak MT's in 285/70 and boy are they an improvement in overall feel- and some mpg. Really impressed...glad I stepped down to an RT from an MT, and not all the way to an AT. About 40% of the mileage is probably on dirt for a frequent trip I make, and I need to air down to about 23-ish to see how they feel than. But yes- really nice tire so far.
Great to hear it. Most folks seem to be very happy with these tires. I know I am! Thank you for the comment! 😃
Looking for more updates on the RT TRAIL...... THANKS
You probably covered it before, but how well did they balance? I have M/T Baja BOSS A/T's on my Bronco. I have one that is now permanently the spare. Seems no one can get them to balance properly. I have felt a little shake ever since they were installed, and the noise that goes along with it. Seems to be worse in my 2dr. The vibrations are bad enough that it makes me want to replace them before they wear out. I got them because back in the 90's I had a Jeep with M/T Baja Claws. They drove like a tank and sounded like it too. Tons of noise, but never the annoying vibration I get with these.
When the snow is out and traffic is clear on my country roads I drive like I am qualifying for a trophy truck race. Always loved driving in the snow since I got my license 30+ years ago. When I had my 2dr out with in the snow this winter it was horrible. I took it out of the snow GOAT mode and just put in plain 4wd and she took off. Really fun. Been a long time since I had such a short wheel base
I've had no issues with balancing. Bronco runs nice and smooth with very little road noise. Had them rotated a few times and still no problems.
Certainly looks like you're enjoying the Bronco and all it's GOAT modes. Glad to hear it!
Great review. How are the tires performing after the siping wears out. They only seem to be about 5 mm deep.
I'll have to mention that as time goes on. Most likely in a year from now. Stay tuned!
@@NorthwestBronco I just picked a set 315/70/17 they do look like full depth siping. It just doesn’t go down the side of the blocks
@@rgomez204 Gotcha! Thank you!
Think im gonna end up with the wildpeak AT4w, KO3, or baja boss at honestly once my good years wear out
All good choices there!
I looked at the same options as you but I ended up with the Toyos because of the weight. Considering they are hybrid tires way more aggressive definitely worth it.
@@rgomez204 Agreed. The weight was a big factor. The thicker sidewall was also a selling point! Thank you for your comment!
What kinda of mileage do you think these tires will get, you think they’ll get over 50,000 miles??
I didn't notice a change in MPG, but they are heavier than the factory tires. So I assume I lost some. They are wearing nicely after 27,000 miles. I do regular updates until they are replaced. Check my "Tire Life Series" playlist to follow along!
Quints are the redheaded bastard child of the fire service. I drive one every third day and wish it was just a true truck. Tires look awesome and wanting to get a pair for my tundra soon.
Agreed on that statement. 30,000 miles and as of now, I’ll be getting another set. Recommended.
Same dimensions? How about the unsprung weight?
Great question. The dimensions are the same as the SAS tires. The weight of the tire (in 315) is 68 pounds if I remember correctly. It's heavier than the 35" (37 pounds) due to the thicker sidewall. Hope this helps!!
airing down your tires in ice and snow decreases performance.
Hey brother what do you think about the 35x12.50 Falcon Wildpeak R/T tires? They are a bit on the heavy side 79.2 lbs E-10 Ply; however, I believe this may be a great tire. Would you consider trying these? I AM STILL DECIDING.
Great question. I've heard great things about the Falcon Wildpeaks. I doubt you would go wrong with a set. I chose the Toyo after doing a big spread sheet. Every tire had one or two things I didn't like except the Toyos. They checked every box except the cost. 79 pounds is a heavy tire, that would not make the cut on my spread sheet. The E rating would make me wonder about the ride. Hmm. I'd prefer a C or D. If Toyo's were not available, I'd go with the BFG Muds. The KO's tread is a bit to tight together for my taste, making me wonder about the muddy trail performance. Hope this helps!
@NorthwestBronco yeah I'm thinking I like Dply as well but wonder what the true size of those Falkens are, I have also been debating ehrther to go 37 or not and I figured a really big 35 is more preferable than a smaller 37. I also don't want to exceed 80lbs. Falcons are 13 inch wide and with a nice offset wheel could look good but that DPly worries me a bit for the ride. I do think you could beat them up and still get good mileage out of them.
@@ndm8447 What vehicle are they going on?
@@NorthwestBronco 2023 Badlands Sasquatch
@@ndm8447 I would avoid 37" tires unless your willing to change EVERYTHING to suite them. I'd check with the Bronco6g forums on what those changes are. I know there's steering, speedo, and the Ford performance pack to boost the power. In regards to 35" the size difference is minimal between tires. I'd focus on the specs and performance of each tire.
