Bragging rights can get expensive.
Between the writer and the A!😂😂😂
Making Everest your goal is making yourself part of the problem.. not the solution. It’s not something people hear about you and think “wow” they think “gross”.
If Tomas had been Elizabeth, u can guarantee, he would have been rescued and returned to Camp 1.
Alison Hargreaves’s body has never been found, I don’t know where the narrator got that from. She comes from the same part of the U.K. I do, she was like a local climber, so I remember this accident happening and know the story well.
Low quality documentary
There are no trees on K2s slopes. Just saying.
They're letting too many climb. There shouldn't be the congested line we're seeing and just the garbage alone is ridiculous. They should tell every climber if you want to climb then you alone should carry down your own garbage and dispose of it properly. It makes me so angry to see so much garbage on a beautiful mountain in a beautiful place of the world. That and the garbage in our oceans. It seems like there are so many people in this world that only care about the present and don't give a shit that our world is being destroyed, like if it's out of sight then it's alright. And every other species besides humans are paying the price and they did nothing to contribute to the pollution and deforestation. Humans are cancer to this beautiful planet. We literally had the Garden of Eden and we have done so much damage in a few hundred years that will last thousands and thousands of years. 😢😢😢
Why are people praised for doing stupid things?
Playing Russian Roulette is not being, “a beacon of bravery.”
REST. IN. POWER,,,,, MR. FISHER....... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I find it fascinating. Everything gets planned so methodical and with determination but they never talked about different approaches? I would have thought that’s the most important part…
People that climb this mountain are just people with too much money, polluting a natural treasure, all so they can take video of themselves and have something to talk about at dinner parties.
In May 1996 something changed his life forever??? Uhhh yeah he died
Whts so incredible about freezing 🥶 to death on a mountain …..for wht ????
Why do these videos seem to always have music that's you loud. It's so annoying.
13:56 ... "The storm's intensity intensified."😆 Come. On.
I like AC/DC, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, probably a few others from the 70's.
Hehe Neepal
This video is full of inaccuracies and the creator's conjecture. Most of the video clips are not from their expedition. As mother of Denali Schmidt and former wife of Marty Schmidt I am asking you to take this disrespectful video down. You just did it for clicks and possibly to monetize this fiction. Despicable.
Why can’t they insist on climbers bringing a certain amount of pounds or number of those white bags strapped on their backs or you can’t leave without that ‘exit fee’ if you will!
Terrible vid
Awful commentary and narration. Like a copy paste job of information. I’m not watching this channel any further.
They didn't need Sherpa . Unlike today's climbers who need babysitters .
The Himalayan authorities are certainly ok with this. They hand out permits at record numbers, pocket the cash and then pretend to complain about the trash. And guess what, they do the very next thing the next year. When they get more serious about the environment than the money, then something might be done. I refuse to get upset about other's incompetence and corruption. AND by the way, the climbers don't care either, they don't have to-they're rich.
Despite the random 2006 ingles photos and describing Changabang ?! Nevertheless Pete and Joe were proper Mountaineers xxx
Rich people with no respect
Never trying to push your luck climbing these above 8000metres mountains unless you're as persevered, physically well prepared and fearlessly crazy like Nirmal Purja or Kristin Harila. Even they themselves face death multiple of time but lucky to escape alive. There are places in this world human just don't belong to and Everest is one of them.
He says ED-uh-muh for "edema" It sounds like enema! Most people in the medical field call it "eh-DEE-muh, which means swelling! I had to laugh when I thought he was trying to say enema -- nobody likes those! Good but sad story about Scott Fisher and some beautiful pictures of the mountain.
hahaha I also heard enema 😆 thought it was my aging ears! BUT quite possibly the WORST recounting of events surrounding the most tragic day in commercial mountaineering (to date). I have absorbed most of the information (but not all) and this video has more inaccuracy's than a Storm trooper firing range! The movie EVEREST has more accuracy than this video !!! ,,,,and that was Hollywood sanitised !
@@OriginalSlash63 Agreed! These tyros will take a story, revamp it to be even gorier, bloodier, sexier, and even more tragic than it is, in order to get subscriptions, likes, shares, etc. I never click on any of those options unless I really support a video or comment because it's GOOD copy!
Getting up at 2 or 3 a.m., and climbing IN THE DARK, in order to summit a icy-cold mountain and get back down quickly, is NOT my idea of fun! I like challenges, but not risking my life to do them! I have in the past, I had a brief period of thrill-seeking, and did things I wouldn't do today; when you're young, you think you can conquer the world! But then, as you age, longevity starts to become very inviting!
i do admire mountaineers who really have a desire to climb dangerous high-altitude mountains, but HAPE (high-altitude pulmonary edema -- lung swelling) and HACE, (high altitude cerebral edema -- brain swelling) are not in my book of things I wish to experience!
The movie "Cliffhanger" turned me off of climbing anything higher than a bunk bed.
One last thing and a note to the narrator: I had to check out after about 5 minutes of listening to you narrate this video. Mate, you've overdosed on adjectives and hyperbole and melodrama. Goodness, I've never heard such a bunch of over-blown statements.
Unless these climbers are doing their climbs backwards, blind, without arms and legs and all to raise money for some worthy cause, they hardly deserve the title "hero" - as the narrator often referred to them. In fact, many who die/get into serious trouble had no right being on K2 and such peaks to begin with. Many are unqualified, spoiled, trust-fund babies who, when they wind up stuck, hurt or dead, put the lives of others at risk trying to save them/recover their corpses. Zero sympathy - just leave these peaks to the qualified Sherpas.
just a bunch of rich assholes doing whatever the fuck they want to tick a box and show some photos to their other rich asshole friends.
I cannot fathom what draws people to risk life and limb to climb huge, unforgiving monsters. The mountains take who they will. Experience and skill doesn't matter. If the mountain decides to keep you, you will become hers. They know this...and they go anyhow.
They need to make some kind of law where not just anybody can climb dangerous moutains ...like it would require tons of experience proof of experience, permits etc.
She had no business going on this climb she had no prior experience!!! She didnt even have enough oxygen....if there isnt enough oxygen im leaving i dont get why some people thought that they were gonna be invincible to this mountain!!!!
Rest in Peace Suhajda
As a climbing guide my self i always use to say "we live like a Lion and die like a dog".😢

I appreciate the video - I think it would be a lot better if the photos you mentioned were shown instead of stock footage.
It's sad to think that had they not delayed their climb, maybe they could have avoided the fatalities.😢
It's elevation not altitude.
Why is Alison always mention as a mother of 2; don't men leave their families?
Narration repeated itself.
