- Trash On Everest Left By Climbers is SHOCKING
On average, each climber generates about 18 pounds of trash during their mountain marathon. And sadly, most of that waste gets abandoned, littering the slopes like a trail of breadcrumbs. What are the ecological consequences for Mount Everest? And will all this trash cause more deadly accidents?
Mountaineering, Climbing, Accident, Climate - Zábava
Everywhere people go they transform it into a trash pile and toilet. Way to go mountaineers. Kudos.
I guess they don’t follow the hikers rule of «take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints» 😑
I remember the original saying, Walk softly and leave no footprints.
@@freefall9832 Even cats leave footprints, good thing they changed it to something more realistic.
@DVFHAFYT Yeah, we tried to develop environmental awareness. Your generation wanted to leave its human footprint everywhere. You guys do trash things up everywhere you go.
Big money. Big Egos.
Leave their shit behind.
They need to make these people take their crap home with them!!!
And they need to provide their own recovery process in the event of death.
So disgusting, they dont care about the beauty of the place, the reference to the mountain, they only care about reaching the summit. Why are they not required to take out what they take in?
Foreigner Chutzpah vs sparse police, & Sherpa conflict of interest. :-(
People forget that Mt. Everest is a sacred place for many people of Nepal and not cleaning up their garbage is an insult to them. Can you imagine camping out at the Vatican or Westminster Abby and leaving their garbage and literal shit behind when they leave. More respect needs to be given about this issue.
I completely agree with you. The government of Nepal needs to take more action!
@Mountaineering-stories Unfortunately, Nepal 🇳🇵 is a poor country and makes a lot of money from issuing permits so it is in their interest to issue as many permits as possible. Since most climbers are usually well-off financially and come from wealthier countries, there is (or should be) an expectation that climbers leave the mountain as they found it for others to use. Climbers have to remember that they are guests of Nepal and their citizens (including the sherpas) so need to act that way. Unfortunately many climbers think of their climb is more important than treating the mountain and their peoples like their own property.
One solution is that Tibetan government require climbers to inventory they supplies they bring on the climb and make a $2000 deposit. If the climbers return with their used supplies, they get their deposit back. If not, the money will be used for clean up operations of the garbage on Mt. Everest. That is if it is at all possible due to the altitude.
It’s disgusting what these mentally ill people have done to that mountain. Even worse are the climbing companies and the governments that allow it and profit from it.
It is becoming a very big problem!
I don't think it is appropriate to refer to those climbers as "mentally ill". They are selfish, disrespectful, and rude to do this but saying they are "mentally ill" is a disservice to people who are actually suffering with a mental illness.
@@Beaker709I’m mentally ill and have no problem with this guy referring to them as mentally ill because it’s certainly a form of mental illness in my eyes to totally disregard the beauty of this place completely for self gain by leaving there shit all over the mountain
Damn you humans!
This place should be protected like american national parks.
If these climbers have enough money to go and climb Everest they have enough money pay someone to clean up or just take your dew
Yes yes.
Surcharge for rubbish removal, some people will always be 🐖's
I wonder if anyone has ever fallen off the very top of Everest after climbing to the top due to it being backed up with climbers
Just happened recently
" i climbed mount everest "
can now be rephrased as
" i climbed just another human sjaithole "
" ... for my own personal glory and bragging rights"
I have issued an edict prohibiting any person from climbing this mountain.
Good luck with this
@@shawnmosleh2363 I must stifle all dissent in the realm.
At least there's a trail of garbage to follow up the mountain so you don't get lost 😅. I'm sure someone will get rich off the removal of crap.
Good thing the Chinese love pollution 😂
KNEE-pal yes exactly
Rich people with no respect
Why can’t they insist on climbers bringing a certain amount of pounds or number of those white bags strapped on their backs or you can’t leave without that ‘exit fee’ if you will!
Yep.
The Himalayan authorities are certainly ok with this. They hand out permits at record numbers, pocket the cash and then pretend to complain about the trash. And guess what, they do the very next thing the next year. When they get more serious about the environment than the money, then something might be done. I refuse to get upset about other's incompetence and corruption. AND by the way, the climbers don't care either, they don't have to-they're rich.
😢
Hehe Neepal
everest been raw dogged without a jonny real sacred like
sacred sanctuary my arse pmsl
Saying Yep is a bit condescending
Poor mountaineers
Nee-paw ☠️ It’s Nepal! Pronounce it correctly! I just stopped watching your video. Dislike 👎🏼
