Yes I climbed, rocks ,mountain ,trees,and steel and can rightly say ,"stupid games, stupid prizes ".
We have a local mountain that's just a long hike, and yet people die on it every year. A mountain doesn't have to be technically difficult to be lethal. Bad choices by hikers is typically enough.
This dutch family falling to their deaths must have been such a horror for their family...I would very much like to know if this was to be prevented. Roping climbers together has always felt a stupid safety precaution...Chances to drag everybody to their deaths must be considered carefully depending on the situation..
I enjoy climbing mountains but there are some mountains that are so dangerous it doesn't how good of a climber you are you are still rolling the dice. I tend to stay away from those mountains. Mount Blanc can be climbed safely if you choose the right route and do the trickiest parts early in the morning when the snow is more frozen and stable. Mount Blanc is an example of a mountain where you can't make bad decisions but if you know what you're doing its not that bad. I would never climb K2 there is no safe route up that mountain, there is high avalanche risk no matter what route you choose.
Yeah, lets wrope the whole family together so that no-one has a chance if one falls.

A family excursion often includes most of not all of the family. I don’t think it is odd that the parent has three young people that a 17 y.o. would not be included.’
