Comparing humans to chimpanzees is wild when you’re talking on a podcast and we are watching on cell phones created by humans. Just because we are close relatives does not make us comparable in this age of humanity.

Me me me, myself for myself….. yea… the fact that the dude doesn’t seem to realize or acknowledge or appreciate that raising children is absolutely part of our personal development when we choose to become parents is wild. You have to have sex with other people to “develop yourself” ??? Can’t you just make friends? Why does sex have to be involved ? Bonkers.

From a biological standpoint, humans are not naturally inclined to be exclusively monogamous. When studying the relationship styles of our closest relatives, chimpanzees and bonobos, it becomes clear that monogamy is not the central focus. It is important to consider the frequency at which our society has witnessed separation and divorces. The evidence suggests that human nature is not in line with these beliefs. Humans have historically embraced monogamy as a result of social and religious influences. I believe it is important to foster a greater sense of understanding and knowledge about the various relationship styles that exist within human culture. I firmly believe that humans are inherently communal beings who require the support and companionship of others in order to truly thrive and reach their full potential. Therefore, it is essential for a human to receive support from either two parents in a household or sometimes multiple individuals.

Ironic that experts pushing vegie based foods as a solution don't actually also address the growing concerns of this system feeding more and more people into the 'big medical and pharma' marketplace. As 50 years of the 'healthy eating guides'/'food pyramid' AKA Fiat Food (plant/seed/grain based ultra-processed) has increased obesity, cancers at a younger age, mental/neurological disorders etc etc. Add in health concerns from excessive oxalates in a vegie diet. Former low meat/high vegetable eater now fighting health concerns in my senior years, successfully so far with low/high fats-protein and fasting. Cleared serious 'brain fog', lost 30 kilos, halved my rising PSA (diagnosed with prostate cancer) number! Living in a western country (I'm in NZ and same bs going on here) why are 'we' allowing the 'feed the world' debate to impact good RA/organic production systems? Yes take aim at the industrial feedlots, the mono crops for ethanol, stop the majority farmers/ag using toxic chemicals that are contributing to human ill health. But get real why should our debate in our western society not simply target the antics of mega corporations and toxic poisons going onto our land from whoever is doing it. Yes that might reduce total output but it might also rebuild rural community via more human labour being needed. If your concerns really are for the 3rd world, then go there and create farming/ag systems that are capable of feeding them. Yes stop western countries taking their minerals unless truly fair transactions occur. Mr Harris's rebuilding his rural community can not be praised enough. The opposition to him just seemed ideological...all animal farming is bad bs.

  • @nextworldaction8828

Notice that plant-based diet advocates always show studies that we can produce more CALORIES. but there are all kinds of studies that show that a plant-based diet is insufficient. It's garbage nutrition. Pounds and pounds of terrible low grade grain. CALORIES IS NOT NUTRITION.

OMG the vegan bought up ruminant methane!!!! 😆🤣😂😅 Willful ignorance at it's best. Dinosaur arguments. Methane in ruminant driven ecosystems is a cycle. A cycle. A CYCLE. It's not infinitely creating new methane. It's the same ingredients going in a circle.

  • @nextworldaction8828

As someone who was a dedicated Vegan for 20 years, who is spent over 30 years of his life working to understand the great amounts of research into this very subject, I can tell you the vegans on this panel are completely misleading you whether they know it or not. Veganism is a product of industrial civilization and fits in nowhere else. You can have RUMINANTS living in fully biodiverse ecosystems, but broccoli will not survive there. Full stop. Focusing on the uses of corn and soy as if it's a problem of animal agriculture, is an insane straw man argument. The vegan on here says he studies forests, ecosystems, wetlands, but has he found any broccoli or cabbage growing in any of those places? Oh, and where are all the vegan hunter-gatherers? There are zero.

I think both couples are beautifully open to have this conversation. Both sides have cons and pros. On the monogamous side there is a lot of co-dependency, interdependency, and just lack of individuality. As someone who has been in a monogamous relationship for a decade, I understand this is inevitable no matter how hard you try to remain an individual, there is a reliance that is built on your partner due to them always being there for you. On the ENM side there is freedom to connect and explore; mature spiritually/emotionally and understand that you may love someone but people don’t belong to you. It is also beautiful to have individuality and reliance on yourself. But there is also a risk of freedom turning into hedonism. Both relationships have things to admire and things to dislike. I personally do not like the “divorce is never an option” sounds like you are stuck in a life sentence and to be honest, the promise of the other person always being there for you is an illusory promise. Not all circumstances are always under your control. But on the other side, there is a lot of energy, intention, and time spent in a relationship that may be momentary because you may be lured in by temptation and other people who may be momentary. Both sides have strengths and weaknesses. Everyone should be free to pick whatever they choose based on their cultural, religious, and spiritual needs.

Just want to point out that part where the Poly woman was talking about male versus female orgasm. She made quite a few mistakes there. She said men take 12 to 24 hours to recharge for sex again. When gay men talk about having sex, they tend to point out that the have it several times a day. When men in general, regardless of sexuality, talk about masturbation, many point out that they can do that several times a day. There is no 12 or 24 hour period or recharge for most men. Most men can go at it again 5 or 10 minutes afterwards. Her point on it takes 20 minutes for the average woman to have a orgasm. It actually takes 5 to 10 minutes if we're talking about women who are with men who they find attractive. She says women benefit greatly from non-monogamy. The women who benefit the most are non-hetero women. the women who benefit the lest are Hetero women. I'm not sure of she is informed enough on several of her points.

  • @AetheriusComics
    @AetheriusComics Před 15 dny

I think this is a hard topic to have without focusing on sexuality differences, as based on everything I've read on this, Polyamory is largely more for non-Hetero people, while Monogamy is more for Hetero people. Of course you have outliers, some Heteros are into Poly, some Non-Heteros are into Monogamy, but usually it's the reverse. So whether or not Poly or Mono works best tends to be determined by your sexuality. And if you happen to be an outlier, the next question is how many people do you feel is the right number of lovers for you. If you're non-Hetero for instance but just one person will do, then you're Mono. Really, I think this conversation could have been 30 minutes long, or less, if the focus was on sexuality differences. The woman in the Poly relationship could have just said, 'I like both men and women', and I love interacting with other women on a romantic level even if nonsexual, but I still want my man'. Then the need for Poly becomes very clear. Whereas if the two people in the Monogamous relationship are both straight, then he is man enough for her, and she is woman enough for him.

Really loved this. I think the overall lesson here is that couples should always keep their relationship with a partner as top priority. Monogamy or open is a personal decision and if in a relationship must be agreed upon by both parties. I am more on the open spectrum but certainly never think my way of thinking is the only way. Couples must work through these things together for them to grow closer.

James makes some assumptions that have been disproven in many studies. He assumes that saturated fat is undesirable, I imagine that is because it has, in the past, been associated with heart disease. That has been completely disproven in many studies. He also makes an assumption that fiber is desirable in ones diet. There is so much information and studies that fiber is not necessary for a healthy gut and microbiome, and that it is often problematic for gut health. Ellen, I have appreciated your willingness to represent opposing viewpoints. However I have never seen you represent the many benefits of a predominately animal-based diet. You call the experiences that many of us have on a meat-based diet, "misconceptions"! Are you willing to consider that you hold a strong bias that you are unwilling to challenge on your you tube interviews? I have never been happier, healthier and had more energy than I have for the last two years that I have been largely eating carnivore. I believe that this is our most evolutionarily appropriate diet. Watching the "game changer" I was so disappointed to see many untruths or half-truths stated as fact. I would love to have you include an interview with Nina Teicholz who has done a thorough amount of research and has done a really good job in exposing how industries and educational centers (like Harvard, the school which has sponsored many of the studies that have been shown to be fraught with paid industry bias and are the studies mentioned often in "Game Changer") have infiltrated what is considered nutritional science. I offer you the challenge of representing both sides of the story. I don't understand the whole"debate" concept for discussing our different choices on diet. Why do we need to disprove each other's points of view? Why can't we accept that different people make different choices for their own reasons. All these different studies that James brings up in this interview have many holes and biases and do not give clarity about "the truth". Your information, James, is also totally disprovable.

I’m only now discovering this conversation. I find it extremely useful to study because the majority of people have incoherent, ideological non-answers like Brenda. I do feel sorry for Brenda because she seems like she’s in a lot of suffering and confusion.

You come for a debate and then say it's a waste of time. Brenda, sister girl, please be consistent.

Hi, I am about to have a homebirth in September - I have been part of a homebirth and have attended "freebirth" retreats for the past 2 summers getting in depth about birth with homebirthing mamas as well as doulas and midwives and some MEDwives turned into midwifes and the conversations have left me with one resounding thought. Birth is an orchestra our biology, in normal circumstances has every instrument and note covered. And if you interrupt that you risk the rest of the masterpiece being off beat, out of tune and worst case a trainwreck. Its a true process and I am literally obsessed with it because it seems to be the most easily discussed evidence of the inteligence of our bodies! Like we grow a whole new human being and know without even conciously deciding on how to get them into the world safely. It is such an honor to be a woman in a space where this is acknowledged and respected. I LOVED this convo you all had - so well informed and so encouraging without blatant optimism. THANK YOU for being here!!! and Doing what you do!

My question when choosing to support abortion until the point of viability, is if those people would be willing to give up abortion if science advances to the point of a baby being able to survive outside of the womb at 10 weeks or even 6 weeks, or even 4 weeks. If being able to survive outside of the womb is your only criteria to ban abortion after that point, then would they accept it when babies can survive outside of the womb from the moment of conception?

I used to watch her years ago when I was vegan! I am no longer vegan and don't believe it's healthy for me, BUT I still respect her and can't believe the hate she's gotten and what she's been through.
