    Yes, there's always a little voice in my head that screams back at my affirmations " no you're not!" So the trick for me...a couple. 1. Look at my eyes in the mirror when I say my affirmations, and always tell myself I love you and accept you exactly as you are" 2. I tell myself might be financially broke but i have a life FULL of abundance and I am worthy of accepting financial abundance as well. I will continue to work each day towards fulfilling my dreams, they are on their way!" Now THAT, my brain believes just as much as my authentic soul 💖✨.....hope that helps anyone who reads this who's like me 🙏

    My girlfriend told me about these people, and then she told me their price. Woooow!! You’re doing God’s work over there. Making things so astronomically expensive that only rich people can afford it. Makes sense, because who deserves good health more than the rich people who can already afford the best food and healthcare? Am I right? And the best part is you’re charging these prices without even having to do anything. It’s the perfect business model. So much integrity! All hail to the rich people! May they continue to have everything while the little people struggle for anything. I’ve got the perfect slogan for your business. Ready?

      Wow. Triggered much? 🤣 You might want to look into why you hate rich people so much. (And maybe spend that effort and energy you took writing this hate-fueled comment to improve your own circumstances? LOL). In all seriousness, she said she has a book that covers the info, making that way more accessible to many people. That and there's always free info out there to get started - they often share a lot through their channels etc. People who create courses put a ton of time, work, and money into it and deserve to be paid for what they do. (disclaimer: I am not a course creator myself, lol, but know what's involved).

      @@kristensharp2473, actually, I'm not one of the poor people. I'm just also not an asshole and would never price gouge on something like this, nor would I pay those prices, even though I can afford it. That said, I did come from nothing, and built myself up from the gutter, which is why I have this perspective. The prices for a session of this hocus pocus are ridiculous, and the fact stands, the people who need it the most can't fucking afford it. So congratulations, you haven't changed my stance one bit. Thanks for your input, though. Let's bring more attention to my comment; maybe they'll see it and stop over charging for doing nothing.

    • @kristensharp2473
      @kristensharp2473 Před rokem

      @@cbrooks0905 I built myself up from absolutely nothing to where I am today (in a pretty great place now) - AND healed myself from autoimmune health issues (that was told by Drs was not possible) - and what Heather teaches is spot on, which from my experience, is where my perspective comes from (apparently very different from yours lol). Not trying to change your mind, I could tell that wasn't possible from the get go haha - it's more for those reading further. I believe what she's teaching has immense value. People selling their years of expertise and work efforts to share with others are not the bad guys. Value is subjective to each individual anyway, and that's up to us to discern for ourselves. Did you watch the whole interview? She even gave value for free right there (if you're brand new to this idea though, it might take time to wrap your head around. It's like they said - layers of the onion. Ongoing work on the self). As for those just starting or who can't afford a course, they CAN start with SOMETHING to better their circumstances immediately - again, free content out there, or a low-cost book (maybe can be found at the library even?). You have to first believe it's possible and then get scrappy. Become solution-oriented and determined to find a way. I didn't buy any fancy course to heal myself and wouldn't have had the funds to start with that anyway either (and I can't attest to this one, because I haven't taken it - as neither have you, so how can you put a price tag on the value when you have zero clue what that is?). I was able to do it on my own through my own research, books, trial and error, years of inner work, and then when I could afford more doing so. And I always tell people if considering a course, to really look into it before committing. Personal responsibility. I have taken a crappy overpriced course before and learned my lesson, and have since taken wonderful business ones that were absolutely worth the high price tag. But I didn't start there. We are intelligent-enough beings to be able to discern what's right for ourselves (stop giving our power away). Starting on this path doesn't need to cost anything. But name calling, and encouraging & enabling the victim mentality helps absolutely no one. That said, I'm done here. Anyone reading this, always do your own research first in who you put your hard-earned $ into, but know healing CAN happen, and you do not need to be rich to get the healing process started. It's all internal and starts with just YOU. ❤
      EDITED TO ADD: I just looked up Heather's programs and they apparently even offer scholarships if you can't afford it: www.mindchange.com/nonprofit - and the book is $19 on Amazon and sounds like it outlines the steps. So, save up for the $19 over time and start there. You could do well with just that. If you want to or desire to go further, there are then ways to make that happen too.

    • @cbrooks0905
      @cbrooks0905 Před rokem +1

      @@kristensharp2473, calling people out for over pricing their services is hardly the victim mentality. I don’t care what they do; their prices are ridiculous. It tells me they don’t want to deal with a certain class of people. “Oh, but you can just go get the book, which also lines our pockets, and try to figure it out for yourself.” It’s elitism at its finest.

    Hi Ellen! In the most respectful way - I am curious about a few things regarding Heather's credibility and the cost of her program. I have done some basic research on neuroplasticity, emotional healing and trauma and different programs or techniques to help rewire your brain. Nothing about Heathers program comes up first on a basic google search, which is curious to me because it states she is a leading expert in the "neurobiology of trauma"? Actually, a few other programs and books come up, such as The Body Keeps the Score, Wired for Healing and Rewire your Anxious Brain. And a program that is suggested is the Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DRNS). What I am most curious about is the fact that the DRNS program is more than half the cost of Heathers online course? I'm wondering if you or Heather are opened to explaining that a little? Does Heathers course offer more information or hands on help as opposed to the DRNS program? Another reason why I find the cost curious is because either in the last episode with Heather or in her book she mentions that she wants everyone to have access to this information and that is why she wrote a book and created a course. However, if someone wanted to take her course it seems you'd need to be more on the affluent side to afford it. I do want to say I don't think anything Heather is saying is not factual, and I am so appreciative to you both for taking the time to make episodes like this and have a heart to help others.

    • @MindChange
      @MindChange Před rokem +5

      Hi Hannah. I answered a similar comment above, so I will include that info and address the "cost" question after that... I would say that my "expertise" is in the method that I created called, The Mind Change Method. I have always been very transparent about where my information comes from, citing every research article/book/expert opinion that I sourced from in my book. We are continually building off the information and experiences of those who came before us. And even though I do not have a Ph.D. or any other fancy academic titles, I believe I was uniquely positioned to take a macro view of MANY different approaches, modalities, & therapies and uncover what I came to see as a basis for how we "do" problems and diseases AND how to re-wire and change those things. I studied, tried, researched, and certified in MANY modalities over the course of the last 10 years. That may seem like a "short time" to some, but I was desperate to understand why certain things seemed to work and other things didn't. As far as "credentials," I'm not sure what qualifies someone as a specialist...but I can list a few of the official certifications that I have acquired over the years from programs I have studied and courses I have taken: NLP (neurolinguistic programming), CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), Life Coaching, Heartmath, Hypnosis, EFT, Doula Training, Treating Trauma Masterclass (w/Bessel van der Kolk, MD / Pat Ogden, Ph.D./ Ruth Lanius, MD, Ph.D. / Dan Siegel, MD / Stephen Porges, Ph.D.), Fundamentals of Neuroscience from Harvard. I also studied (but chose not to certify in) EMDR, DNRS, TRE, and a few other mind/body approaches. I continue to learn, grow, and look for the latest insight and research into trauma, wellness, and mindset. I would never claim to be the "end all, be all" in this (or any) field...but I do believe my voice has value in the conversation! As far as the cost goes, I appreciate that it might be cost-prohibitive for some. I do include the entirety of the method in the book, to make it accessible for nearly all people. The course is for those who want to go deeper. It also includes 2 private sessions with one of our trained practitioners (which is a $600 value), a supportive and informative community, as well as continued mentoring with the Mind Change staff! It's actually an incredible value, though I totally understand that it won't be financially feasible for some. I have personally spent an incalculable amount on all the training I have taken up to this point. Some programs were close to $10K in totality for certification. There are many relatively affordable course options out there, but there are also many other programs that "deep-dive" into therapies and healing modalities that are much more costly. I am familiar with DNRS, and though it has some great information, and has proved helpful for some. But I know many people who find it difficult and laborious to implement. I looked more deeply into it when I had numerous clients come to Mind Change after trying DNRS. Within the many courses, programs, and classes I have taken, the Mind Change course is priced competitively. As far as Google searches, I have been contacted by many marketing individuals who said I could pay to show up first on the algorithms...but we just don't find that we need to do that right now. The people who need us tend to find us! I hope that helps explain a bit. I truly appreciate you bringing this up with such a civil and curious tone. 💛

    Diet and lifestyle has a major part to play I feel. I wonder what heather thinks about this too?

But once on a clean wholefood plantbased diet and lifestyle changes (that I made the changes for my new baby that's was unsettled) my skin become clear. I had a small flare up years later and went to acupuncture which helped my hormones I guess along with my diet and my skin cleared again and that was over 5 years ago now.
    Also had migraines from 12 years old untill about 21 and since changing my diet and lifestyle plus monthly chiro... years went by before I realised. I haven't had a migraine in about 10 years now. I don't know if it was from chiro adjustment or diet or both.

    I'm only half way through this podcast, but it has been incredibly interesting so far. I have a degree in psychology and a lot of what Heather has said about the mind is true. The mind is fallible; whenever you access a memory it has to be recoded, and it will be recoded based on new information, new experiences and how you're feeling at that point (among other things). People really do misremember most things (google 'flashbulb memories for an interesting example). In terms of pain, it is actually interpreted bodily signals (it's not a real, physical thing). Pain is your mind's interpretation of an event/trauma to the body based on a lot of information, and your spinal cord can actually generate unnecessary warning signals that are interpreted as pain. Pain exists to protect us from harm, but when it becomes overprotective is when it generates those unnecessary warning signals. You can learn to generate pain where there isn't a 'physical cause', and you can unlearn that behaviour as well. It's great to be skeptical, and we should always question new information before we consider it truth, but I just wanted to come on here and affirm that there is a lot of accuracy to what Heather has spoken about, and there really is still SO much to learn in medicine/psychology about the mind-body connection.
