I think Howard’s seeing jimmy on the day of the funeral was also something else: self sabotage and self loathing. He wanted others to feel the same hatred for him as he felt for himself. He felt culpable for the death and as a lawyer has a strong sense of justice and his confession and acceptance of the consequences is punishment deserved in his mind. He can’t have expected that meeting to go well in any way, he can’t have expected them to be grateful to hear it, it would have only ever resulted in anger at the messenger and in his mind that is what he’s owed.

I really like your retrospective/things you missed but you kinda spoil things in next seasons or better call Saul, I guess there small things but still.

Under rated isn’t a thing for subjective works like fiction, art, etc.. the rating is based on how many people like or dislike something. In this case the rating is true. Howard isn’t underrated. To call him (or anything of this nature) underrated is basically saying you’re salty not as many people enjoy something you enjoy. To call something overrated is to say you’re salty too many people like something you don’t care for. Either way you’re just a salty angry person who’s upset people don’t like what you like or like things you don’t like. The things that CAN be over and under rated are things like athletes, physical objects designed for a specific purpose (tools… like a car, screw driver, drill, shoes, etc.). Those things can be over rated and over priced as well as under rated and under priced. Like an athlete who people keep saying is great and his rating doesn’t really align with his stats or performance and he’s actually not as good as people say he is. That’s having a rating that’s higher than his actual performance… so, yeah, over rated. Or a car that people talk shit about that’s much much better than anyone gives it credit for in terms of gas mileage, reliability, durability, etc.. that would be an underrated car. These concrete objective thing can be over and under rated. Something subjective cannot. If you say it is you’re just a salty angry scrub.

My theory always was that Gus was a military man in Chilie, not a high-ranked , probably a lieutenant or a captain (Hector calls him "generalissimo" just to mock). However, he was part of a group of military men, including high-ranked , who were involved in drug trafficking to Europe and became very close with Schuler. At some point the officials caught him and wanted to execute, but Schuler helped him out through bribery or his own connections with Chilean authorities. After this Gus became part of group of plotters planning to kill Pinochet. When the assassination attempt failed in 1986 he had to flee to Mexico. The reason why Cartel kept him alive is because they needed his experience in drug trafficking, and since they knew who he was they could keep him on a tight leash.

The whole series is so darn depressing. The dysfunctional family, the harsh, hot and dry climbate, the unforgiving sun, the flimsy plaster board buildings they have in the US. Sorry, I stick to Malcolm in the Middle. The same weather, the same buildings, an even worser family, but a whole lot of laughs more.

Allendre promised to bring nazis to justice, they started funding a man named Augosto Pinochet. 4 years later the coup d’état happened and Pinochet threw the communists out. This is where the german connections came from. I will say it wasn’t just the 1st generation germans that fled that still held on to ideology but the next one after that so you don’t have to somehow make the timeline fit. 2nd and even 3rd generation Germans in South America still had strong nationalist beliefs and ties with the Pinochet and Péron governments. The gestapo was still strong and healthy. During Péron and Pinochets government, while it is not wildly known or even discussed the gestapo assisted in the elimination of communist elements in both countries. It was around the 90’s when it died down and basically became a masonic lodge, but it still does exist.

Howard’s biggest screwup was enabling Chuck’s abuse of Jimmy. Such a minor issue but it caused him to become a scapegoat for everything he complacently let Chuck get away with and ultimately be blamed for it

Howard's and Hank's death make it more crude and realistic that in the real crude world the so-called "good guy" in the majority's eyes may not always have good ending. All happy ending is a fairy tale. Like some crime or horror slasher film that childish snowflake viewers criticizs cannot show killing of children or elderly. Thats not realistic. Karma dont always will favors you. Karma can be absent or can be late. That also what make Breaking bad and Better call saul so great. Its crude, blunt, bitter-realistic. Ripped off any fairy-tale plot and expose crude, naked darkside of humanity. Both series is like a big thick steak thats not for emotionally snowflake, fragile viewers.
