Unfortunately it looks like the usefulness of VPNs will be on a sharp decline as streaming services are starting to disallow connections through VPNs. I hate that they're doing that now. đ
Also I'm not sure if you know but taco cabeza is Actually A restaurant in Albuquerque called taco cabana. That is open 24 hours A-day and is It's used for a lot of drug deals don't ask how I know...
The actor who played Bogdan was ironically the scientific consultant for the series.
@@jonbourgoin182 as far as i know he was a chemist before but got into acting before breaking bad. So he was an actor but just for a while
@@deusex9731I just checked IMDb. Heâs been in 1 episode of crash in 2009. Other than that, just breaking bad.
It's crazy people always forget that before Walt killed anyone, he was ready to shoot at cops when the RV gets stuck. Really showed what kind of man he was on the inside even when he was still a "good man"
This could be true for sure, but I always interpreted it as Walt wanting suicide by cop by simply brandishing the gun rather than actually using it. Could be either-or though
@@TailstheFox121 --Basically he didnât feel like he had anything to lose, but obviously we will slowly get to see his pride, jealousy and overweening egoism, but as you point out, it was already there. He quit a job he helped start out of shame/envy seeing how rich his girlfriendâs parents were but wonât explain why, then blaming THEM, for his own impulsivity.
I always appreciated the undercurrents hinted at with Marie & Skylarâs family dynamic and Walterâs family.
@@TailstheFox121 FOR SURE willing to get shot dead....at that point he was already told he had MONTHS to live from cancer....getting caught in THAT situation...he woulda shot *towards* a cop, just to get killed
I think it was most likely an attempt at suicide by cop
You forget that he also tried to kill himself before anyone arrived, soooo was he really ready to kill anyone ?
I'm so glad you acknowledged the "IVE GOT THE TALKING PILLOW NOW!" hilarious scene.
Best part of this scene is Walt jr cracking up at Hanks main concern being hunger before the intervention beginsđđ
KiWi about to make analysis of every episode like we were back in 2008,along with making theories and such, that's the dream.

@@invermere2879 we haven't seen Wendy and huell together either?

Man, if Season 1 is getting this large amount of detail, imagine how Season 5 will go.
Season 4 > Season 5
Season U > Season Autumn
Winter > Summer
@@it.was.written Season 5 has more episodes than Season 4, hence why it has the edge of having more things to talk about.
Probably have to be split up into 2 videos like BCS S6 since it was originally released in 2 parts
"and the bags in the river" is such an underrated episode, it was the first episode that truly made me realise how good the show is and got me addicted
@@nobodiesaltbutmine6674 i wrote this comment towards the start of the video not expecting him to put it in S tier, regardless its still an episode that doesnt get talked about much in the BrBa community
Grey Matter is actually one of my favorite episodes in the series. To me, it's the biggest opportunity he has to change course- either go back to working with the company he co-founded or continue his path to cooking meth (giving the title "Grey Matter" a double meaning, as it's a grey matter for him to deal with). His pride winning and overtaking the legal road says everything about who he is, as the show would've ended right then and there if he had taken the job back at the company he co-founded.
Plus, that distrust nugget towards Skylar
this episode establishes that everything Walt does from this episode forward is completely by choice
For sure, pride and his narcicisst Ego are his main driving forces. - We, as most of the audience, still side with him for major parts of the series because we learn indeed how deeply humiliating his "normal" life for the past decades has been; both at work and in his family: That he did not marry Gretchen, partly because of the wealth of her family, and the resulting power imbalance in their relationship, is another - related - story.
Every time I see Walt and Elliot talking I am screaming at him to please take the job and avoid a whole world of misery and pain for so many. One of the few shows that genuinely makes me want things to go differently. Pure drama gold.
fuck that. where was elliot for the past 20 years?
Yeah but if that happens then we wouldn't be having a masterpiece next to it's prequel/sequel/big brother/little brother/spinoff Better Call Saul.
just wanted to say you've gotten insanely good at this over the years. smooth, articulate delivery with just enough tangents and tidbits to keep things fresh, while staying on course the whole way through. fantastic listen.
Thank you!!
The first time I ever watched through breaking bad I was in jail. AMC played a marathon leading up to the series finale, and I caught the marathon from the first episode onward. I wasnât one of the âtv guysâ in our pod but I got sucked in to the show, even tho I actively tried to ignore the show from across the room. But the pilot hooked me. I watched almost every episode (missed a couple here & there.) In hindsight, it was a memorable way to have first viewed the show.
I felt like Walt Jr, actually. I was watching this dad character from across a room, couldnât hear what was being said often, had to piece together plot points, and was way off because I had missed tons of details. (It was basically impossible to hear that 24â Tv, 15ft up high in a concrete room where everything echos.) I got out of jail a little while after and went back to rewatching BB, and Tv ainât been the same since.
BTW, thanks again for these videos! Youâre doing a great job and youâve earned the success youâre getting with the channel.
Man what a cool story, hope your life is on a better path.
@@GameMasterWLC Very thankful that my life has improved way more than I ever would have imagined possible. Married with 2 kids now, making good money at a job I love. Thank God, & my family, I wouldnât have made it through without a strong and loving support system. Always support the people you love, but be careful not to enable them, because thatâs a very fine line.
â@@Dahn.Baern. I'm so happy for you dude đ I hope you and your family are doing well man
One point Iâd like to make is that itâs not just random that Waltâs brother in law âjust so happensâ to be a DEA agent. Walt initially goes on a ride along with Hank to get him into the meth biz, so Hank is integral in the creation of Heisenberg. The two are inextricably linked. So their car and mouse relation doesnât feel contrived or random.
Honestly Krazy 8 is one of my favourite minor characters. I was so happy to see him in Better Call Saul, especially when he started getting more screen time in the later seasons
Another thing you didn't mention in Gray Matter that I absolutely love is that it fully explains why Jesse says yes to them cooking as well rather than just brushing it off and just leaving the audience assuming that he says yes because Jesse asked him in the previous episode
They show that
1) he needs the money and
2) he tried cooking with badger but the product wasn't good enough for Jesse
He says yes to Walt because, as you said, he's been changed enough by the quality of the product to feel like he can now only cook if it is as good as Walt's, and he can only do that with Walt itself
The thing I will always love the most is no matter how sad and serious the show can get there are always hilarious little scenes that are way funnier than they should be. Like Jesse dropping Emilio down the stairs and just facepalming or Hank just devouring all the snacks when Skyler is talking her heart out while everyone is listening.
Itâs a Leap, but maybe the scene in better call Saul where jimmy takes down mesa verde with the black mail telling them to take down their logos cause they didnât own the rights to it. This would explain the altered âmesaâ logo in breaking bad.
Fun facts when kiwi states that he doesnât want this video to be 4 hours long at 19:19 that is foreshadowing for his later breaking bad videos
Damn Chase with another tier list worth almost 2 hours. Your work ethic is amazing keep it up!!
Rounding up a whole 24 minutes is wild
The scene of Walter burning the man's car could also be seen as Walter's petty way to show how he wants the power, power of choice, power of providing, but he don't have anything, while the man have have it, although it's petty it makes sense for Walter's character and helps as a setup for the scene where he denies the help from Eliot
I also think that the fact that Walt gets into cooking because of Hank makes it much more believable
I really love the second episode of the show. It really shows how strong the chemistry is between Walter and Jesse, which is part of why they rewrote the show to keep Jesse alive in the first place
1:20:03 I feel like its actually the other way around, its BECAUSE he has a DEA brother-in-law that he entered the drug business in the first place
huh?
@@kunii.9261 if it wasnât for the ride-along in episode 1, Walt would have been far less likely to go down that road
Holy shit..
âTwo nuts and a ballsack, my ass! Wait.. that didnât sound right.â
Lol.. that was your funniest line ever.
As a former user my skin crawled off my body when Jesse tossed all that meth out. Iâd be searching the desert floor like a god damn archeologist.
FACTS!!!!!!
Yessssss. I wanted you to do a breaking bad series recap so bad. Please do the other seasons too. Thank you for this!!
I've been working on Tamacun for months on guitar. Getting the rhythm right was frustrating for a while but it's a great song.
I can't believe it's been 15 years since the pilot.
Can only imagine how satisfying that song would be to play yourself lol
I just rewatched Breaking Bad with my wife this summer. Very excited for your tier lists!
I first watched BB in like 2013-14, it was the first show i watched with full English sound and subs.I also started rewatching it a week ago so i can catch up on Gran Torino and BCS.I can't wait to hear more from you
Just saw this was uploaded as I finish the better call Saul season 6 recap for a second time. Thank you Kiwi đđ»đđ»
so glad i found your channel, canât wait for season 2!
Cool to see you make a list for Breaking Bad Season 1. Keep up the great work man!
1:26:24 It's also conviently located just around the corner. The perfect meet-up place.
So hype that the breaking bad tier list/retrospective is starting! Another great video
At first I thought it was really slow, but on a rewatch I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 more than Iâd have expected. Its sad, but understandable, that its overshadowed by the later seasons.
_OH MY GOD ITâS HAPPENING!_ *EVERYBODY STAY CALM!*
just found your channel subed and came all the way back to the start amazing breakdowns
Thank you so much for doing this. Funny enough I just finished watching your BCS tier lists recently and this put a huge smile on my face. Keep up the good work!
Honestly you make such a great point here 1:07:47 it never really occurred to me that Walt would be angry about this fact! But it makes so much sense for his character and I think a lot of people would be frustrated with it taking a death sentence to get back into the company
Great video, really enjoyed your retrospective on season 1 and agree with your rankings.
How pleased was I to discover youâve already uploaded the season 2 tier list đ
Please continue to do the rest! Must take a while to make these but they are excellent, really.
Goddamn I loved this video, can't wait for the rest of the seasons, hope this gets more recognition like it deserves!
just found these videos. incredible work man! Iâll absolutely be tuning in for the run of this entires series!
Ayyyy Iâve been waiting for sum breaking bad retrospectives!!!
Dexter and breaking bad are some of the few shows that were able to actually create a personal connection between the cops hunting our protag killer
1:31:10 Don't worry, you get your tipped over port-a-potty in season 2 lol
YESS you listened to our requests of making tier lists for breaking bad !!
This is what ive been waiting for. Gonna be so nice to watch
I'm very upset you didn't mention Out Of Time Man by Mick Harvey for songs from the pilot
Iâm probably only really going to highlight a few main favourites I have throughout the show, but I actually added that song to my library while making this video!
Also, honourable mentions to Didnât I by Darondo, Uh by Fujiya & Miyagi, scoobidoo love by choir and orchestra Charlie steinmann, catch yer own train by the silver seas, and finally whoâs gonna save my soul by Gnarls Barkley!
Love your videos my guy! So excited for this one and the ones to come
Glad to see you getting more sponsors!! Great videos as always, I can see the time you put into them and I always enjoy then
Thank you for highlighting Tamacun, def my favorite song from the season and have listened to it for years as a result :)
I love how "Breaking Bad" takes a fairly libertarian approach to the war on drugs in my opinion. They show that no matter how hard the DEA fights, people like Walt and Gus blend right in while making millions off of the illegal trade. It shows how all it takes is a few men either with nothing to lose or willing to risk it for the money to eventually supply the whole southwest and even parts of Europe with an illegal substance. A bit exaggerated but not impossible with the super labs that actually exist in Mexico today. Obviously it takes a whole network but Walt, Jesse and Gus were at the heart of it and without them, it all fell apart.
Even with an 8 billion dollar a year budget, all the war on drugs has done is create a war on the border between cartels and government. It's caused insane amounts of violence for control of the black market ranging from the very top of it to the street dealers fighting over corners and customers. It has caused the end users to get anything from a close to pure product to some garbage cut with chili powder that might not even be the drug they paid for. You have people like Gale too who understand adults will make the decision to use drugs reguardless of their legal status and he just wanted to supply them with the products they want in an unadulterated form. No matter how much money and law enforcement we throw at the problem, it's not going anywhere and we need to look for another approach. We couldn't even enforce alcohol prohibition and now there's thousands of drugs the government is making a desperate attempt to keep from users and there's still an opioid epidemic going on. It's like a balloon, they push down on pills, heroin fills in for it. They push down on heroin, fentanyl pops up. Now we've got drugs like carfentanil which is something like 100X stronger than fentanyl coming out and it's going to keep happening.
Government will never be able to stop the importation of drugs so powerful, the amount needed to get intoxicated is almost microscopic. They can't do it even when the amount needed is huge! Every single day, truckloads of drugs come into the country via land, sea and air or are made right here in the country. We started with oxycontin and other prescription opioids in the early 2000s which were dangerous but at least users knew what they were getting and what the dosage of it was and now fentanyl and even carfentanil, a literal elephant tranquilizer, took over and the amount users get is just a guessing game. Fake oxycodone and xanax pills are now common and drug use is more dangerous than it ever has been in history.
Nothing good comes from the black market having control over a trade, just violence and death. Law enforcement has failed to do anything to stop the problem long term, just a revolving door prison system. We live in a world where even prisons, the most restrictive places in the country, are filled with illegal substances. If we can't keep drugs out of a prison, there's absolutely no chance we'll ever be successful at stopping them from reaching the rest of our society. Wherever there's a demand, someone will find a way to meet it with a supply and they'll make a good sum of money while doing so. When that much undocumented money is involved, violence will generally follow. Until it's properly regulated, the wrong people will make that money and violence will be their only option to keep control. I wish more people could see the failure of the war on drugs and we'd finally end this silly game of whack a mole killing people daily and making criminals into millionaires. Believe me, I wish the system we had right now worked but clearly it doesn't. There's a lot of things I wish but that doesn't change the reality.
thatâs definitely not a libertarian take. in fact itâs a very leftist look at a system thatâs all about making people rich. in the end itâs not even about the drugs, the show could be about anything. itâs about empires and money. the only thing proven to help addicts is a clean place to get high with available resources
you, my friend, need to write a book on this or do a public speech. this broke it down so greatly and easily
i aint reading allat đŻđŻđŻ
@@lilsebbo6099 Good for you. If you don't have the attention span, nobody cares including me bud, why you feel the need to announce it is beyond me... đ€Š
@@mercedesspencer4342 Thanks man! If all goes as planned, I'll have a pharmacology degree in the next year or so and I'd like to use the facts about how drugs interact with the body as well as the criminal side of them to find a way to make a strong case for changing current drug laws. I've considered writing a book but was always thinking more about a biography, likely with coauthors that could join in to give the biography of a group of teens in a city during a certain era instead of just about one person. The idea is a bit like the film "kids" if you've ever seen that. Anyways, while I'm waiting for coauthors to actually get some stuff put on paper, I think I might start a rough draft on my take on the failure that is the war on drugs and see where it goes. Maybe reach out to an ex cop I know that disagree with the war on drugs, friends in prison for drugs, friends who are or were addicted to hard drugs, etc to hopefully give a perspective from all sides...
I appreciate the kind words, thanks for reaching out with suggestions!
Amazing list man, I love it! Canât wait for you to cover the next seasons!
Yeeeesssss!!! Bless you, good sir! You sure know how brighten someone's week. Again, and as always, VERY much appreciate your time, effort, and work/passion that go into these. Thank you! đ

This did put a smile on my face. Thank you
This was an amazing watch, thank you so much. Donât think Iâve ever hit âsubscribeâ for a channel so fast in my life!
You should definitely do one of these on season 2!
The reason Hankâs role doesnât feel contrived is that Walt would never have been exposed to Jesse or notice the potential money in cooking meth if not for Hank being a DEA agent to begin with. There was no coincidence, itâs causal.
It's weird to hear you talk about breaking bad episodes as I'm so used to you talking better call Saul. However great video! Can't wait for more seasons.
Great video
i forgot how short season 1 was lol, i wonder how different bb would have been if it was as long as other seasons.

Kiwi can't keep getting away with this.
hope your gonna do the rest of the seasons was bummed when i finished this one and that was all ugh
I swear to god when I say it: Tuco was absolute eye candy since the moment he appeared on screen for the first time. He is pure villain/antagonist material and every scene he has he just goes absolutely wild from full autoing the shit out of a random cow with an m4a1 and saying I FUCKING DESTROYED HIM!! To beating the shit out of his lackey just for annoying him. Like legit I was just as dumbstruck as Jesse and Walt when I saw that for the first time. With or without the context from Saul it is still an astonishing scene nonetheless. I always laugh my ass off at every scene of him bc he's just that damn wild to the point of absolute comedy and I also get a chill down my spine bc he is also intimidating at the same time. It is such a good balance and all of this makes his firefight with Hank even more impactful. Truly an intimidating villain is already introduced in THE FIRST SEASON!! Man this is what media needs more of. Good villains make EVERYTHING
a cool little detail i found out is that the show starts with walt trying to kill him self but fails, and at the end he trys killing jacks gang but acidentally shoots himself. its like the bullet came back to eventually kill him
On god
Dude why don't you have more subscribers? Been watching your content since last year as BCS was airing, keep it up

Holy heck is that beat rice!? Im fan of ur content man!
Season 4 is my favorite. Between 4 and 5 - the Gus stuff was just so iconic. I canât wait for the next video lol
I still think about the fact that Walter would just carelessly toss that gas mask, even though throughout the show he's built himself the reputation of being careful not to leave anything that could traced to him.
Finally someone agrees that Grey Matter is one of the best s1 eps, so underrated
Babe wake up, time for another peak tierlist series

the flask jesse holds is different from what walter is holding, so yes he learned everything because jesse was actually holding an erlenmeyer flask and not a volumetric flask
LETSSS GOOOO. Kiwi I love you
I assume and hope you do all the seasons lke you did for BCS. Your videos are cool.
