Many of these people create these problems themselves because as soon as they leave a new or used car lot, they feel emboldened as if their assembly made STOCK engine were an 80.000 dllr high performance engine and they drive it as such day in and day out.

These are great vids showcasing foolish vehicle owners, what I'd love to see is a few of the countless examples of when cars are put in for work that not only doesn't get done but infact other parts have been switched for dodgy parts... I'm not mechanically inclined, I bought a 4WD at auction, took to mechanics for inspection, diagnosis was a full engine and transmission rebuild, I said do it so as I could at least recover 90% of cash invested... Part of the service was a full engine bay detail, if they had even wiped it down with a rag I'd probably never have known that they had straight up ripped me off

I wish the engineers that build/design things (cars and other electronic devices) had to perform maintenance on those same items just to see how difficult it can be.

In the early 70s, my father bought a 62 Ford Falcon wagon. The original wood-look detailing on the sides had faded badly, so my dad got some wood-look contact paper for lining kitchen shelves, and carefully applied that to the car. Over time, the passenger window started coming off the track, to the point where we finally just keep the interior panel off, so we could reach in and fix it. The car would whistle when getting gassed up. There must have been a pin-hole somewhere that air was pushing through as the tank filled. It whistled the same tune every time - the pitch changed as the tank filled! That car was a trooper!

As a life experienced under car mechanic shop owner, it BEWILDERS me how they don't hear or feel (IGNORE) issues.

A lot of the issues would never happen if it weren't for the DIY guys....

Feelin' pretty damn proud of myself, changing my own pads and rotors all around on my Titan. I even bought the dead blow hammer just in case. Rotors came off like butter.

Every time I see such wonderfully hopeless "customer states😱" in the US🇺🇸, I feel a little more confident in my own amateurish DIY maintenance. And I am amazed at the fact that even if a vehicle is obviously in a messy state from a Japanese perspective, it is "still possible to drive" and that such used cars like "fully oxidized lemons🍋" are in circulation.😱 In Japan🇯🇵, it is mandatory to pass the "vehicle inspection (Syaken)" by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, a national agency, once every two years, and many owners undergo legal maintenance and certification at an automobile repair shop. The cost is at least 150,000 Japanese yen for a k-car😓, and it is not uncommon for it to exceed 500,000 Japanese yen for German cars😇. There is a system called "User Syaken" where the owner himself performs legal maintenance and undergoes inspection on the certification line, but the chassis frame and steering linkage are subjected to quite persistent tapping inspections with a test hammer, and the hub bearings and suspension are also subjected to vibration inspections in which they are violently shaken by hand. If the brakes are not well maintained, they will not pass the brake tester. The headlight lumen test is feared among enthusiasts as a hidden deathtrap for pre-1975 (pre-Muskie Act) cars and 400cc enduro bikes with plastic headlights.😱 I myself have seen abnormal vehicles on the certification line that have failed User Syaken. I have also experienced K-cars that were properly maintained but failed the brake test. "Vehicles that were running without any problems on public roads may not pass the certification." A very strict inspection system is in place.😅 However, even though it is a system that places a heavy financial burden on owners, we can think positively about it as a system to eliminate "clearly messed up vehicles" like the ones in this video and increase safety on the roads.😢
