    Video descriptions:
    0:00 Intro
    0:04 Customer States they "hit a curb and must have broken the exhaust pipe"
    0:24 I hope they didn't drive far with all that oil leaking out
    0:36 Customer came in stating that her oil level was at 0% then proceeded to pour in 6 quarts of oil. When the oil pressure gauge didn't go up she added more
    0:51 Just like how they came out of the factory
    0:59 Turned out the fuse box in the engine bay was full of water
    1:11 Customer States "my car constantly makes this noise when the battery is connected"
    1:27 At least it wasn't a zip tie prank on the owner
    1:32 Mechanics wife states "Can you check on my car? I smell burning plastic"
    1:43 That's going to be an expensive bill just for a tiny bit of plastic
    1:58 Wheel bearing in two pieces, only thing holding this wheel on was the brake caliper bracket
    2:09 Customer States "It suddenly just stopped working" This was definitely making quite a bit of noise before it quit
    2:15 Customer States "I started my car up this morning and now it sounds like a helicopter"
    2:27 At least they managed to drive it in before it majorly failed
    2:50 Looks good to me
    2:54 This is actually a recall issue with the steering coupler
    3:01 This customer definitely needs a new shop as they are definitely not being honest
    3:16 Might even need a new rim
    3:23 Definitely an ancient alarm system going off but odd that the new battery set it off
    3:57 Customer States "my dash lights turn on when I brake"
    4:05 Outro

      Sadly I'm old enough to remember them going of at all hours of the night due to dodgy owner installs ... you basically wanted to find the muppet owner and shove the siren where the sun don't shine ... 'specially as some of the alarms seemed to loop, and would go on for hours. (it was like donkey kong to space invaders to empire strikes back to mario to fake police sirens)

    Dash lights coming on when braking is probably a dual filament bulb failed.
    If the larger filament breaks and falls down onto the running light filament next to it, then the electricity will be shorted to the running light circuit and backfeed to the entire system. Had this happen on a dumptruck, dealer tried to replace the entire TIPM because it contains the brake light relay and flasher module....$1500. I opened the universal Jeep style taillight housing and just installed a new 1157 bulb.

    Dash lights turn on when you brake? usually an incorrect globe, most likely a single contact globe put in the double contact holder for the brake globe causing a short between the brake and park systems, the park system is connected to the dash lights.

    • @EssentialComment
      @EssentialComment Před 7 měsíci

      @@ribar1738 sure sounds like it, that is a strage one, as a short circuit should not depend on the car idling for a short time unless it is a coincidence.
      I would check that the brake lights are coming on independently without the park lights for that short time in between the engine start and the time that you notice the park lights coming on.
      Also I would check the globes are correct anyway.

Winter happens every single year, but they still don't believe it - an accident for every bridge is a bankable event. Electrical issues on a Peugeot?, what a rare thing! We had a Citroen Berlingo at work that needed new back doors (it had been in an accident), when it came back shutting the back doors caused the van to lock itself and as such it was prudent to never properly shut the back doors (it was being driven slowly around a holiday camp so it wasn't an issue to leave a door "on the latch") and leave a window open.

    many aftermarket alarm systems would go off when you disconnect, and re-connect the battery, as many thieves would disconnect to help with tripping the electronics, or they wanted to silence the alarm. this one sounds like ancient speakers full of sand... I'd remove it, it probably will cause problems soon.
    I also always leave the drivers door open when connecting a battery, after witnessing the locks locking up once the battery connected, for unknown reasons... luckily the door was open back then. I've also had the electric windows all go up.
    you never know what ideas the developers have at the construction plant...

      @De19thKingJulion Před 7 měsíci +1

      That can happen with a dodgy brake/tail light bulb. If one filament comes loose & touches the other, there's the short circuit powering all park/side lights, with dashboard lights as well.

      Not sure where you got your times from, but when I was at Hyundai we could get those done in 30-40 minutes on a YF Sonata. Lower the column down to the carpet without unhooking the steering shaft, pull the motor off the column, clean the old rubber out, put the new one in, put it all back together. If it was customer pay I would feel bad about charging more than 1.5hr.

    These vehicle problems just prove that there is too much technology being used when one component that has nothing to do with another can cause a very high repair job. When rolling up the passenger window turns the radio on and off tells me there is some screwed up computer talk.

    • @Chrisamic
      @Chrisamic Před 7 měsíci

      Actually the problems like this are usually very analog in nature - bare wires shorting out, ground loop problems, corrosion in the fuse box, that kind of thing. There IS a lot of tech in cars these days though, and a heck of a lot of wiring harness, and that means you get some really weird symptoms that can be hard to track down if you're not methodical. The way to tackle it is to work out what is common in both circuits, what is a possible link. For example the stop light turning the dash lights on - the dash lights probably turn on when you turn the tail lights on (normally). It's probably a dual fillament bulb in the rear (tail/stop). Most likely the stop light filament has broken and fallen across the tail light filament and is feeding power to the tail light, coincidentally lighting up the dash lights as well. The door open/starter issue is more of puzzle, probably wiring harness shorting somewhere. The ignition cable and the feed for the door lights probably all come through the same place in the firewall so that might be one place start. I think I'd isolate the circuit to the light and try to figure out which wire is shorting the circuit to the starter solenoid. I note that it continued to turn over after the door was shut, which would be the courtesy light keeping the power on to the light. Diagnosis *might* be as simple as metering the dome light and ig1 wire and tracing them back to find the short.
      Management systems (computers) *do* fail of course, but it's usually a catastrophic failure - things actually *stop* working.

    @Mechanical Nightmare...
    First and foremost...whoever is mixing your audio, they need to make sure that the video's audio doesn't drown out the narrator!! Several of the clips were very difficult to hear what the narrator was saying.
    Secondly...why is your channel named mechanical (singular) nightmare when it should be called mechanical nightmares (plural or multiple) since you have a variety of mechanical clips to share?!?!?
    Lastly...your narrator is just okay. I think you need somebody with a better voice to do your narration.
