Registrace 3. 08. 2020
We work full time but try to escape normality in our campervan as often as possible.
This channel will allow us to document our travels for us to reflect on the good times, if others like too then... great!
We're very good at mooching, without pre made plans hence the name, professional moochers.
We love to travel, see different parts of the world, especially if it's outdoors.
We're often drawn to mountainous areas but we equally love individual architectural structures in cities around the world.
We also like food and drink!

We found an absolute hidden gem! Dulas glamping is a remote farm with only one camping pitch. This single pitch is securely fenced in so you can confidently allow your dog, especially reactive dogs or even breeds such as the XL bully to roam free without having distractions to react to. We visited in our VW California camper van and the views of the local mountains are gobsmacking! It's only 15...
Riding a storm in our camper van

We headed to the Lake District national park in our VW California T5 campervan for the Lakeland festival of light in Keswick. Little did we know, a named storm, Kathleen would cancel the event and leave us to hunker down in the van with 70mph winds! Burns farm campsite was our destination and we timed it perfectly as we got to see a baby highland cow called April, 4 days after her birth. There ...

With a couple of days off work we packed our VW California camper van and headed to the Peak District national park in central UK, specifically to Edale to stay at Newfold fam campsite. Situated at the beginning of the Pennine way it's a great...

We took our VW T5 California camper van to a campsite which enables you to feel like you're van life wild camping. Amongst some amazing tent pitches, there are only a few camper van pitches which are situated in the secluded woodland surrounded by nature. This camp site is called Cefn Coed, in south Snowdonia (Eryri) national park, in between Barmouth and Dolgellau on the Mawddach trail. We too...

We took our camper van to the Yorkshire Dales and camped in a pub carpark with an amazing view of the Ribblehead viaduct and Whernside as a backdrop which is the highest hill in Yorkshire, one of the 3 peaks. We hiked 9 miles from the pub, tp the summit of Whernside and back and replenished our energy levels with pub grub and beer. It's great to return to vanlife after a 2 month break due to il...

Winter camping in a small VW T5 California campervan in the Scottish Highlands comes with its own challenges but it never disappoints! We have been to this campsite three times now, Dalraddy is situated just outside Aviemore on the Speyside way hiking & biking route in close proximity to the Cairngorms largest mountains. We stayed here for new year but as you'll see, celebrations were a little ...
Bad start to our Scotland van road trip

We headed to the Cairngorms national park in our VW T5 California campervan for a wee road trip around the highlands of Scotland. Storm Gerrit didn't want us to get there too easily so the A9 was closed due to heavy snow, all other routes were closed due to floods. After an eventful night, we finally reached Aviemore and Glenmore for a few nights camping on Loch Morlich with some hiking, outdoo...

Again, we find ourselves camping in the rain in our tiny VW campervan with our dog. We took our VW California to the Lake District to stay at the Camping and Caravanning club site in Keswick, on the shores of Derwentwater which commands one of the best views in the UK, as you can see a number of Wainwrights surrounding the water with the larger fells in the distance, including Scafell Pike, hig...
Camping in strong wind and heavy rain in a VW California

This trip, we have the campsite to ourselves! Storm force winds and rain did limit our ability to take advantage of it but Kestrel Lodge campsite in north Lake District national park, near Keswick and Bassenthwaite is a real hidden gem!! Our small VW Camper van did feel a little smaller during the bad weather but it didn't stop us exploring the local hills and woodland, whilst marvelling at the...

My wife and I just came back from a 9-day trip to Iceland. It was at the beginning of May, so the landscape was quite different, but the beauty and the emotions that this beauty generates are the same. I am not that easily moved, but I had tears in my eyes from just admiring what was around us. I believe that Iceland needs to be seen in every season, as the colours, the light and the weather conditions change the landscape so much. I would love to go back there in winter and I definitely suggest you to visit these same locations in spring/summer. We got three days of sunshine and a lot of rain, but, as they say over there, there is no such a thing as good or bad weather, there is just weather. Thank you for a truly inspiring and beautiful video!
Thanks very much 🙏🏼 We’d love to return to Iceland during summer, it’s hard to imagine that it’ll compare to winter as it’s just outstanding but, there’s only one way to find out 😁
Nice place, but it could use a good cleaning. It was very dirty. Love the dog Jack.
Thanks 😁🐶 It’s a free of charge location, which relys on previous occupants to leave it clean and is maintained by volunteers so naturally, it’s likely to look a little grubby but, the location more than makes up for it 👌🏼
The cat museum owe's to the fact that we used to throw our cats from the top of the belfry up until the 19th century. A contigious legend says we stopped because one cat managed to survive the fall and we couldnt catch it. It is presumed that we did this for long because we used to need many cats to hunt pests around the cloth hall which back in the time was connected to by an open channel but by late summer/fall the cats were too fat and not usefull anymore. The city also organizes a rarther cool cat parade every 3 years, just some weird part of our local folklore.
That’s amazing thank you. Oh we definitely have to come back to see the cat parade 😍 We love this city, well overdue a return visit.
Boring!
What’s boring?
Love it now summer is back some great views.
Makes you feel like you’re in a different country 😍
Good evening, just found your channel 👍are you full time in your van?if yes I guess your working from there. Look forward to watching the next one👍😁😁
Oh god no, we’d kill each other in our little van 😄😄 We work full time and just get away when we can. Thanks for joining us 👍🏼
I need that sausage, mash and Yorkshire pud!! I also need to get tips on how to get free beer!!
😄😄 I was thinking of you when I ate it as I went for the venison sausage, whole grain mustard mash with onion gravy 😍 I’ll bring some of that beer to the festival, you’ll like it 👌🏼
I am desperate to sample that!! I was hoping you'd have some of that beer left too but it did look a bit quaffable so I wasn't pinning my hopes on it! We've just got back from Manchester, where I paid £5.50 for a pale ale... only to discover it was a crap 330ml tin of piss water. Not impressed. Ruth was a bit surprised by her £8 glass of wine too. 😬
@CampervanHabitude the sausage & mash is 100% worth trying! Lucky for you, I sank hardly any due to sunstroke so I’ll put a few aside 😉🍺
I won't champion your sunstroke too much... but that's great!! 😆See you in a couple of weeks.
Happy birthday Sarah! I always carry a water filter on longer walks, I hope you filtered the water before Sarah bathed her feet in it?!
😄😄 I filled up further up stream 😉
I drilled my husband for years about sunscreen, now he proudly announces “I have my spf!” My dad had a BCC but still doesn’t use spf. I’m a factor 50 girlie, best thing you can do for your skin 👍
100%!! Being burned is not only dangerous, it’s extremely uncomfortable and then there’s the peeling! First hot hike of the year always catches us out 😄
Cracking absolutely gorgeous, what month was this please I've missed it obviously 😞 ?
We certainly got lucky 🤩 This was mid December
@@Professionalmoochers thanks for replying I'm deep South and gunna get there that time.,👌
Could’ve bought Sarah walking sticks for her birthday 😂 Lovely day. That’s not a house in Wales🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🍻
She’s got bloody sticks 🤦🏼♂️ I know, we’re currently weighing up plenty of options and English national parks are winning 🤩
Was up that way on Friday, but on the Mam Tor/Lose Hill trek (one of). Fabulous 👍👍
@@Professionalmoochers 🤦🏻♂😂
@@walkstonowhere been up that way a number of times, superb ridge walk that. We were at the campsite looking up that way on Friday
@@Professionalmoochers would have given you a wave if we’d known 😄
Ace that area, we had similar weather last few days of our NC500, apparently we were very lucky at that time of year, Applecross was 22c at 8 in the evening, sunrises and sunsets were just awesome, Robbo 👌👍
Sunshine in Scotland normally means midges 😮
@@Professionalmoochers yes doing Western highlands next year same time end of April into May before the little blighters appear, we timed it just right 👍👌
@@paulrobinson8263 perfect 👌🏼
Beautifully filmed as always guys. I hate going down mountains it's the worst bit to me 😂 I sympathise I also have ginger skin 😁💜x
Thanks 🙏🏼 Coming down is definitely the worst, not helped by me finding a steep route full of boulders and flies 😄😄
Wonderful walk and scenery, thank you!
The Peak District certainly treated us on this day Michele 🤩
Great Sunday viewing and stunning scenery. Added to the ever-growing wish list 😀
😄😄😄 sorry not sorry!
🤣
Happy Sunday viewing. Nearly at the 5K subs as well 👏
Getting there slowly mate 😁
Looks a beautiful walk and that ham looked yummy please put sun cream on before every walk. Your poor faces.
Thank you 🙏🏼 We normally do, especially as Sarah burns easily but we didn’t know it was going to be so sunny and we hadn’t planned to be out all afternoon so, lesson learned the hard way 😁
I hope it healed quickly. Love your videos.
Happy Birthday Mrs M from one Taurean to another 🤣 x
Thank you 🤩
Edale carnt go wrong in this area , Castleton can get busy in summer and parking is very limited.
Yeh it’s a gorgeous area but, extremely popular… for good reason 👍🏼
Omg guys I need that union jack out door table ❤❤
🤩 it’s a table sticker from Pixers uk 👍🏼
Hi guys love your channel and look forward to your video's. Can I ask what camera you use to make the videos as the video quality is fantastic. Cheers
Thank you, glad you enjoy them 🙏🏼 I used to use a Sony A6600 and recently upgraded to a Sony A6700 😁
Lovely short video. I'll be taking a look at that site. I've been to a few you say are good and never been disappointed. Mrs Moocher "I'm a teeny, tiny bit sunburned".... I'll be saying that next time I'm three sheets to the wind too. In other news.... What make harness does Jack wear? Is it any good? I need some for my springers. Stay safe Moochers
Thanks Billy, hopefully we’ll find a few more this year 👍🏼 Jacks harness is by a company called Hurtta, it’s great but couple of the hard plastic pieces have cracked so we need to contact them, see if it’s an isolated issue 👍🏼
Loving the Passenger fleece hooding thing; they do nice stuff. That walk felt a bit more than the usual mooch. You guys definitely looked a bit weathered afterwards.
You’re right they do make some cool retro looking stuff, birthday present for Sarah 😁 The usual mooch has been extremely lazy of late, we’ve hiked for years so trying to get our lardy rears back into it. Definitely weathered, did not expect the weather to be so favourable 😄
All the walks i take us on always involve some mild peril. Whether it’s boggy, neck high in stinging nettles, or traversing an unstable landslip. I can find all of them.
@@grahams3417 😄😄 all part of the fun!
Glad you enjoyed the beers! I’ll send a ham next!
😄😄😄 that’s hero status! Beer was REALLY good 👌🏼
We want to go but you will need to feed us 😉 dad checked his app and his recording of your car alarm bird said a robin !
😄😄 you bring the beer I’ll get the food! Robin??
@@Professionalmoochers deal! Yes we were surprised too when it said robin🤷♀️
Really useful and good review. Thank you

Love watching you both but your doggo is just lovely xx
Thank you 👌🏼 Don’t be fooled, as loving, cute and funny as he is, he’s hard work too! But, we wouldn’t change him 😁
Vegan diet not working for you then😂😂
God no!
Poor spider . Poor Jack. What was he doing?
NOBODY knows what Jack thinks 😄😄
Cranking location & site …. That’ll do me.. Billy no mates
It’s the best place to have no mates 🤩
Ooh. That looks like a special fire-lighting knife. To go with the mushroom-knife and the asparagus-snipping blade etc. etc.? Great video as usual.
A knife for all occasions 😉
super cool vlog 😊
Thanks Chris 😁
I'm a dog behaviours and Jack was guarding something in that hole. I wouldn't mind betting he had found a bone. Great location!
He’s fed a raw diet so loves his bones too 😁
Such a happy dog . Full of life and wanting to share your experiences .
He was in his element around that area 😁
well done Alan . nice find. my kind of place.
We were quite proud when we stumbled upon it 😄 It’s a rare gem.
right then.. wheres that fire pit from??!?
😄😄 it’s from snow peak
Excellent review of whats on my radar. 66 and fed up with looking for somewhere to sit.
There’s no finer place to sit 😁
What's it like for bird scarers? I went to cefn coed and stayed in the pitch you stayed 😊 that was great 👍
What’s a bird scarer? Aahhh that pitch at Cefn Coed is special isn’t it?? Really helps you unwind 😍
@Professionalmoochers Them loud gas bangers you can get around crops, I've found if sheep are about its not common. Yes me and my pops love watching you 3 😁
@hannahg8953 oh, no, we never heard any so you’re good 😁
What a pitch! What do you think of your grill? We were talking to a chap who made them at the Overland show a couple of years ago. I did plan on going back to get one but never did.
The fire anchor is brilliant Mal! I’ve used it lots as it’s really versatile. Company called TJM metalworks make them, I’ve got a grill for over an open fire and the lantern holder is made by them too 👍🏼
Ahh, that could be a wise investment then. We were both howling at Jack with his head down that hole! 😆
It’s really good kit, Trevor’s welding is spot on and he’s very popular in the bushcraft world. 😄😄 he’s an absolute idiot!
Great find, Bargain. We call em sheepies too 😂 🍻
Proper gem isn’t it? 🤩 Sheepies 😂😂
Next time you do the peak district, arrive late or early & try the park up at the top of stanage edge. I've slept up there a few times in the van. Great views! I don't do many camp sites as I'm a bit of a tight arse unless i need to shower or booze.
😄 can’t beat booze and a shower. We have been up that way before, only for the day though and said, we need to spend the evening up that way but I’d imagine it gets busy of a weekend in summer so might wait until it gets a little colder 👍🏼
Poor spider 😞
RIP Boris 🙏🏼
Sounds like a song thrush Alan great spot
Oh I’ll have to see if I can listen to some sound clips of that now 😁
What a place, looks like my kind of place! All saved! , is there a electric hookup? and Jack made me laugh, head stuffed into the ground 😂😂😂…
You should definitely experience it for yourself! No there’s no hook up 👍🏼
