Lake District van camping in summer

- School holidays have ended, British summer weather has arrived and we visit Burns Farm campsite in the Lake District with a plan to explore but, the heatwave forced us to relax by our van, drink beer, cook food over the camp fire and soak in the mountain views whilst watching the sun set!
The location, nor doing nothing all weekend was what we had planned but, sometimes things just work out for the better as long as you remember to make the most of the current situation and enjoy it.
This campsite is in the North of the national Park next to the A66, between Keswick and Threlkeld and has 360 views of Lakeland fells.
You're allowed raised fire pits or, you can rent one and buy logs from the campsite.
We took our Kadai travel fire bowl as you can use it as a fire pit or a BBQ.
Plenty of beer, sun, relaxation and more importantly, mental wellbeing.
If anyone has a Glawning bell tent type awning, let us know what your honest thoughts are.

Was at Burns campsite few weeks back and your right about site, amazing views , nice and peaceful and best toilets and showers seen in long time ..
Brilliant isn’t it? 🤩
Think we might book some cooler weather next time though!
Looked a hot one, so beer essential! 😂. Good to see you three back,..... Sunday evening You tube viewing restored to normal 🚐🐾🍺🍷
Glad to have you joining us again too 😁🍺
That was a chilled watch. Seen a few bell tents recently they seem to be all the rage. Jack seems to be settling nicely. Remember cycling the old railway path a few years ago. Beautiful area.
Thanks Sue!
Don’t be fooled by Jacks on screen appearance, he’s still the devil off screen 😄😄
Think it must’ve been the heat that wiped him out 🥵
Missed your posts over the summer, pleased you’re back👍
Thank you 🙏🏼
If you run out of ideas on the camping side of things, get some vids going on the BM 👌🏻 What a beast! Welcome back guys! 🤙🏻
😄😄 we’d lose half our audience!
I am toying with the idea of a separate channel to cover all my petrol needs 🤩🏎️
Welcome back guys. Good to see you.
Cheers Al 👍🏼
So glad you guys are back
Cheers Tony 😁
Glad to see you back 😊
Thanks Lisa 🙏🏼
Beautiful, relaxing funny video as always guys 😊
St John's in the Vale is lovely.
We use the C2C track Threlkeld to Keswick quite a lot.
Sorry we didn't catch you this time round 💜xx
Thank you 🤩
We’ve been saying for ages, that we’ll walk the length of this path, maybe in winter when it’s cooler and you’re downing sangria in Spain 😎
Good to see you back
Thanks buddy 👌🏼
I couldn't remember if it was you who gave me the hot cross bun beer or Dave. I just now I was desperate for one after seeing it on this vlog! You guys had a better view from your camper during the heatwave than I had from my office! The fate of the M6 directed you well. Catch up soon guys. 👍
😄😄 Dave thought it was revolting!
You win!! Although we complained about the heat, we weren’t in work so, we’ll consider ourselves lucky 😁
See you both soon hopefully 🍻
...and the sound of that M2!!!
@@CampervanHabitude that was on a cold start, sounds good when it gets going 😍
Once again a great video keep it up can’t wait for the next one 👍
Thank you 🤩
Glad you made the most of it 😂😍
Always 😉
Beer & fire always helps 🙏🏼
Good to see you guys back❤. We’re thinking of getting a dog 😬, it would be great to see one of your trips focus on how you prepare/ cope with the dog and the van . I’m sensing behind the scenes everything always runs smoothly 😁👍
You’ll never see a specific video like that as you’ll see us at our most stressed 😄
The only thing you can do is make sure your dog is exercised, a tired dog is a happy dog 👌🏼
Unless you’re Jack, who’s very rarely tired 🤦🏼♂️
Great to see you all back 😎
Thank you 🤩
Great video guys thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you 🤩
Loving your vlog's and loving the M2 more!!!
Thanks mate 🤩
The M2 is ace! Despite spending £2500 on insurance and 2 tyres this week 🤦🏼♂️
Lovely m2very nice, that's my mates t4 paul a Lovely lad take nice to see yous back
Thanks mate, I’m loving it so far 😍
That T4 looked great! Miss our old T4 so always love seeing other clean ones 👌🏼
😂😂😂 that’s so funny! Everyone recognised the dog! OK you came to PT, Did you love it? Great edit Profs. Thanks. 👍
It’s true, they all greeted Jack before us 😄😄
Sarah had a long weekend in the Algarve and loved it but, she was eaten alive by mosquitoes.
Thank you both 🙏🏼
@@Professionalmoochers if we were more responsible humans we would definitely get a dog! Thanks Profs! 👍❤️
@@TheNewbys 😄 you’re way more responsible than we are!
All we need to do is feed him, exercise him and pick up his 💩
Fantastic vlog and indeed car 😍😍👌🍾🍾🍾
Thank you 🤩
The car is an absolute peach but don’t worry, it won’t be featuring on here 😁
Please don’t stay away for so long. 😊
😍 don’t worry, we have plenty planned this autumn/winter 🙏🏼
Hahahaha love the cup 😂 class think ive seen you guys before at ulswater
😄😄 the mug was a must have!
Very possible, we have done ullswater before… cheers 👍🏼
Brilliant to have you all back. Loved the relaxed video and as always down to earth amusing commentary (especially the cows/bulls!) Ace new motor, EV’s just don’t have the same beating heart as an ICE. Jack looks so relaxed now, he’s really thrived in the Mocher household 😍
Thank you 🙏🏼
Don’t be fooled, jack is still a pain off camera 😄
I thought the Tesla was great but you’re absolutely right, ICE is best! Especially when it has 6 cylinders 😍
Can’t believe we just missed you guys as left Burns for Waterside House on the Tuesday. 😢 Thanks for your great recommendations. We only got home yesterday after two weeks away. We were so lucky with the weather whilst in the Lakes. Thanks again. 🚐 ❤
You certainly picked the perfect time to visit!!
Glad you enjoyed both sites, they both have so much to offer 👌🏼
Thanks god for that . Been waiting for a month for this checking every week for this fix. Well done and thanks for the great post . You both brighten up my life with your stories
🤩 thanks Ash!
It’s very unlikely we’ll take as long a break until next summer school holidays.
Plenty of plans this autumn/winter so I’ll have to get used this editing lark again 😁
Thankyou glad you are both well. Keep up the good work👍
Love the mug but love the M2 even more, (competition? ) excellent taste there Alan. Can you hear the road from that site?
Thanks mate 😁
No it’s a very late OG so single turbo.
Marginally better MPG than the comp and definitely makes a better noise plus, adjustable dampers 👌🏼
You can hear the A66 but it’s not a nuisance, especially after beer number 4 🍺
No wonder the lad chases shadows just noticed from your close uo that Jack is Jaffa less!
😄😄 it’s suppose to calm them down too!
That was worth every penny then.
Just to add .. realy like your vijeos .. thanks for taking the time to let us into your life. Respect both ! 👍
@magneto263 he’s a rescue so he’d already had them whipped out when we got him.
Thanks mate, always good to hear positive feedback 😁
Ace mate you’ve been missed, glad to see you back on it. We’ve got a small van meet end of this month for a long weekend at Laneside campsite Peak District, don’t like hot weather as it can get very uncomfortable in the van, we only do Europe in April/May or Sept/Oct cause that’s just unbearable for me in the van in Summer. Booked for NC500 late next April before the midgies 👌👍
Cheers Paul!
Yeh we’re not a fan of the heat either, definitely love the sun but not when it’s really clammy.
NC500 will show you some amazing locations, further north you get the more you forget your in the UK!!
The M6 is always so unpredictable. Im not one for the heat, last year when it was 40 degrees i was up in scotland and it was raining haha.. the lake District is so amazing.
M6 is often a nightmare but it’s always worth it when the lakes is your end goal 😍
@@Professionalmoochers absolutely, I went through at night to miss the traffic. Got to Windermere at 3:30am. The car park there accepts campers.
