- This week, we enter the beautiful Yorkshire Dales national park in our VW California on our road trip from the Lake District and our first stop is the Ribblehead viaduct.
He stay at Caravan & Motorhome club site in Hawes before ending up at a stunning remote campsite called Usha Gap.
Yorkshire has been neglected by us in recent years and we're so glad our Scotland trip was cancelled as it forced us to explore new locations.
The mountain passes are outstanding here, the scenery, the views and the people make Yorkshire a must see destination!
We explored the market town of Hawes which has waterfalls in the town centre! Beautiful period buildings, great pub food and beer with gorgeous landscapes surrounding it.
Usha gap campsite is nestled in a valley surrounded by hills, allows camp fires so we took advantage and cooked a steak over the fire in our new Snow Peak fireplace with the TJM metalworks mini fire anchor.
Next week, we'll show you what this area has to offer with a stonking hike.
Without giving too much away, it has everything you could want for an afternoons hiking.

Cracking camp site that, Usha Gap. 👌🏼
It’s a stunner!
Been meaning to visit for a while and will definitely return when the larger field opens too 👍🏼
Top job as always guys.
Thanks Al 👍🏼
Hey great video the steam trains are awesome across the viaduct our favourite place in summer. What a whopping steak beats mine safe travels The Wally's
Thank you 🤩
The viaduct is such a great bit of engineering!
And the steak… perfect size for two with a little bit for the dog 😉
Beautiful video as always you three ❤
Love the Ribblehead Viaduct there is a park up near there somewhere.
The steak looked awesome! Made my mouth water 😂💜xx
Thank you 😁
Yeh we seen a couple of places to park up nearby but not perfect as they’re right on the main road. Definitely going to return and explore the area though!
That steak was a challenge with the weather but, well worth it 😋
Looking at your steak 🥩 made me so hungry! 😂👍.. thanks for sharing all the spots!!
Turned out nicely didn’t it? 🤤
@@Professionalmoochers steak 🥩 was perfect! 😍
Steak looked absolutely perfect👍👍👍
Not bad considering the bad weather we had hey? 🤩
Aww, man, that fecking steak!! We were like the Bisto kids watching that. Looks like the steak we had in The Hawkesmoor last week, where I had to sell one of my kidneys to pay for the meal.
😄😄😄 I can imagine that scene too!
There’s nothing better than a perfectly cooked steak, especially when it’s infused with some good campfire smoke 😋
Pics you put on FB of the viaduct were top notch 👍🏻👍🏻
You have a decent butcher for those steaks 😮
Thanks Steve, touched lucky with the light 👌🏼
Excellent camera work on the steak, I don’t think I noticed the black potato 😊👍
😄😄😄 we smothered the spuds in cheese to hide the fact we cremated them!
Cracking steak mate. Just right.
Thanks 😁
It was a pure fluke as the wind was tough to work with
Watched a few of your YT now and love your approach to Vanlife, subscribed for more 😊
Thanks very much 🤩
Glad you’ve joined us 👍🏼
Nice looking Steak but to undercooked for me but the weather wind and rain doesn't help.
Been Hawes Chippie before it was excellent. And the Wensleydale Cheese factory it's amazing such Variety.
Yorkshire is very underrated I find it a very interesting place nice to get away from the crowds in the Lake District.
The steak was ever so slightly more rare than planned but considering the weather, we were pleased 😁
We’ve been visiting Yorkshire for years but neglected it for a while. We’ve already planned a return as it’s just gorgeous!!
Proper good people too 🤩
Sure is Gods own County
No arguments this end 😍
We always look forward to seeing you two your videos always hit the spot: camping, dogs, hiking, beer, scenery, epic meat cooking, Jack, and seeing what hiking/outdoors/cooking gadget Alan has bought next 😂 The cinematography on the opening shots and that steak were stunning too 😊
Thanks a lot Sue 🙏🏼
Some great scenery in next weeks video, there might be some beer & meat too 😁
Jesus, that's half a cow! 🤣
Just a northern portion that 😉
@@Professionalmoochers 🤣🤣🤣
Where can I get one of these folding firepits?
It’s by a company called snow peak.
I bought the medium size 👍🏼
Where’s the knife from?
It was a birthday gift from my parents so can’t remember the name but I’ll dig it out tomorrow and let you know 👍🏼
Thank you. Looks perfect 👍🏻
@@Manc_adventures hi, the knife is from a company called huusk.
It’s not an expensive item but it has a really good edge on it 👌🏼
What , no cheese 🤦🏻♂. Where was the second site?
There was cheese on the spuds but they were hidden in the background as they were cremated 😁😁
Second site is called Usha Gap. It’s bloody gorgeous!! Closes for winter but 100% worth visiting in spring 👌🏼
That’s awesome and just one of my favourite areas, last January me and Barb did something we had always wanted to do….Leeds to Carlisle return train journey and we amazingly were lucky enough to get £1 return tickets. Awesome day out travelling through the dales and across the viaducts, the scenery was spectacular on the return journey as it was still dark on the journey up. That steak was huge, onwards and enjoy 👍
@@paulrobinson8263 thanks mate, Yorkshire has certainly opened our eyes!
We’re already planning a return trip 😁
Steak was just the right size 😉
Meant no cheese from Hawes lol. I’ll take a lot at that site. Cheers @@Professionalmoochers
@@andyblake1849 oh!! 😄 Hawes was literally a quick stop off point to take advantage of non farm campsite showers so didn’t have time to explore properly but it’s not too far from home so we’re definitely going back to explore the cheese creamery and, Sarah said we need to see how good the chippy is 😁
