Huge steak cooked over a campfire with beers!

- After many beers we cooked a huge 1.5KG ribeye steak on the TJM Metalworks mini fire anchor over a campfire with baked potatoes looking like a Fjallraven model! 😂
Deep in the remote forest of Snowdonia outside our VW Campervan, using an off grid cottage in the forest as a base, you just couldn't choose a better location in winter.
There may be camera focussing issues due to too much beer but we had fun with our drunken antics, thanks to Northern Monk and Peroni.
Reverse sear was the cooking method to render the fat while allowing smoke to penetrate the meat, the beef cooks slowly and then you lower it to sear, cooking hot and fast to give the outer crust a nice bark.
Resting is important as it helps to meat to relax and gives you a chance to enjoy more beer.

Im on your side bud i really dont get why people hate the word moist , its a word that has to be used when you cook something thats proper juicy and succulent , if somethings moist youve done a banging job to me moist is loterally just another word ive got no idea why people have an issue with it just means juicy and flavourful 😁

We once tried swapping but the chap sent Ruth home because he wanted his scaletrix back!! 😆 That Ribeye looks immense and very moist. I bet the smells coming off it whilst searing were incredible. Did you manage to finish it before Dave and Laura got there?

It was even better than it looked and yes, we waited as long as we could but it just wasn’t long enough 😉
We pulled their baked spuds out the fire the next morning too 😁

Talking of gin, we went out for a meal with a few drinks on Saturday but thought we'd have one more swift one at the restaurant bar on the way out. 1 x absinthe cocktail, 1 x caramelised orange negroni and 2 x mezcal old fashioneds later we wondered how we were going to find the energy to get home. It was going to be a taxi to convey us the full three quarters of a mile home but, we settled on a peanut butter espresso martini instead - just to give us a power boost to get up the hill!! I wondered if you'd forgot about Dave and Lauras spuds. 😆😆
