- The Peak District national park is becoming a firm favourite camping location for us in our VW California camper van. Newfold farm campsite in Edale is such a great location for hiking, sitting round the campfire with views, there's an amazing pub next door and it's at the start of the Pennine Way route with Kinder Scout nearby.
We went for the perfect hike from our campsite and were treated to a warm summers day, views to die for, unique stone formations and of course, the Derbyshire warm welcome from the locals.
Wonderful walk and scenery, thank you!
The Peak District certainly treated us on this day Michele 🤩
Great Sunday viewing and stunning scenery. Added to the ever-growing wish list 😀
😄😄😄 sorry not sorry!
🤣
I drilled my husband for years about sunscreen, now he proudly announces “I have my spf!” My dad had a BCC but still doesn’t use spf. I’m a factor 50 girlie, best thing you can do for your skin 👍
100%!!
Being burned is not only dangerous, it’s extremely uncomfortable and then there’s the peeling!
First hot hike of the year always catches us out 😄
Happy Sunday viewing. Nearly at the 5K subs as well 👏
Getting there slowly mate 😁
Happy Birthday Mrs M from one Taurean to another 🤣 x
Thank you 🤩
Love it now summer is back some great views.
Makes you feel like you’re in a different country 😍
Beautifully filmed as always guys. I hate going down mountains it's the worst bit to me 😂
I sympathise I also have ginger skin 😁💜x
Thanks 🙏🏼
Coming down is definitely the worst, not helped by me finding a steep route full of boulders and flies 😄😄
Ace that area, we had similar weather last few days of our NC500, apparently we were very lucky at that time of year, Applecross was 22c at 8 in the evening, sunrises and sunsets were just awesome, Robbo 👌👍
Sunshine in Scotland normally means midges 😮
@@Professionalmoochers yes doing Western highlands next year same time end of April into May before the little blighters appear, we timed it just right 👍👌
@@paulrobinson8263 perfect 👌🏼
Glad you enjoyed the beers! I’ll send a ham next!
😄😄😄 that’s hero status!
Beer was REALLY good 👌🏼
Happy birthday Sarah! I always carry a water filter on longer walks, I hope you filtered the water before Sarah bathed her feet in it?!
😄😄 I filled up further up stream 😉
Lovely short video. I'll be taking a look at that site. I've been to a few you say are good and never been disappointed.
Mrs Moocher "I'm a teeny, tiny bit sunburned".... I'll be saying that next time I'm three sheets to the wind too.
In other news.... What make harness does Jack wear? Is it any good?
I need some for my springers.
Stay safe Moochers
Thanks Billy, hopefully we’ll find a few more this year 👍🏼
Jacks harness is by a company called Hurtta, it’s great but couple of the hard plastic pieces have cracked so we need to contact them, see if it’s an isolated issue 👍🏼
I need that sausage, mash and Yorkshire pud!! I also need to get tips on how to get free beer!!
😄😄 I was thinking of you when I ate it as I went for the venison sausage, whole grain mustard mash with onion gravy 😍
I’ll bring some of that beer to the festival, you’ll like it 👌🏼
I am desperate to sample that!! I was hoping you'd have some of that beer left too but it did look a bit quaffable so I wasn't pinning my hopes on it! We've just got back from Manchester, where I paid £5.50 for a pale ale... only to discover it was a crap 330ml tin of piss water. Not impressed. Ruth was a bit surprised by her £8 glass of wine too. 😬
@CampervanHabitude the sausage & mash is 100% worth trying!
Lucky for you, I sank hardly any due to sunstroke so I’ll put a few aside 😉🍺
I won't champion your sunstroke too much... but that's great!! 😆See you in a couple of weeks.
Edale carnt go wrong in this area , Castleton can get busy in summer and parking is very limited.
Yeh it’s a gorgeous area but, extremely popular… for good reason 👍🏼
Looks a beautiful walk and that ham looked yummy please put sun cream on before every walk. Your poor faces.
Thank you 🙏🏼
We normally do, especially as Sarah burns easily but we didn’t know it was going to be so sunny and we hadn’t planned to be out all afternoon so, lesson learned the hard way 😁
I hope it healed quickly. Love your videos.
Loving the Passenger fleece hooding thing; they do nice stuff. That walk felt a bit more than the usual mooch. You guys definitely looked a bit weathered afterwards.
You’re right they do make some cool retro looking stuff, birthday present for Sarah 😁
The usual mooch has been extremely lazy of late, we’ve hiked for years so trying to get our lardy rears back into it.
Definitely weathered, did not expect the weather to be so favourable 😄
All the walks i take us on always involve some mild peril. Whether it’s boggy, neck high in stinging nettles, or traversing an unstable landslip. I can find all of them.
@@grahams3417 😄😄 all part of the fun!
Hi guys love your channel and look forward to your video's. Can I ask what camera you use to make the videos as the video quality is fantastic. Cheers
Thank you, glad you enjoy them 🙏🏼
I used to use a Sony A6600 and recently upgraded to a Sony A6700 😁
Could’ve bought Sarah walking sticks for her birthday 😂 Lovely day. That’s not a house in Wales🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🍻
She’s got bloody sticks 🤦🏼♂️
I know, we’re currently weighing up plenty of options and English national parks are winning 🤩
Was up that way on Friday, but on the Mam Tor/Lose Hill trek (one of). Fabulous 👍👍
@@Professionalmoochers 🤦🏻♂😂
@@walkstonowhere been up that way a number of times, superb ridge walk that.
We were at the campsite looking up that way on Friday
@@Professionalmoochers would have given you a wave if we’d known 😄
Head well skelped, hot hot day. Both deserved the beers, whilst I’m on the beer note. If you get your chance and see them, get a few McEwans Champions to try. Don’t have too many, just over 7% but tasty. Not as good as a Leffe though.
I completely agree 😁🍻
Sounds feisty, I’ll keep an eye out for it 👍🏼
Hi, What camera do you use for photography please, looking at investing in one for future trips so would be interested in your set up.Thanks Dean & Jane
Hi
I use a Sony A6700. Used a Sony A6600 for a while but upgraded a few months ago as it’s better for video.
They’re both excellent, very portable with great features 👍🏼
@@Professionalmoochers wonderful. Thanks
