We camp at Balmoral castle in a Campervan | van life Scotland

- King Charles invited us to stay at his holiday residence in Balmoral, Cairngorms in the Scottish Highlands. While we were on a Scotland road trip in our VW California camper van we decided to pop in, unfortunately he was out of the country so we opted to pay £10 to stay in the carpark instead. We toured the grounds the following day and what an estate it is! Such a unique grounds to wander, with lots of Royal history and being the first day it was open since the death of our Queen, Elizabeth the second, it was particularly poignant. Jack our Labrador made sure he made his mark by doing a poo in the kings garden and naturally, we had to get some souvenirs. Coming here from the more remote area of the Cairngorms where we wild camped with no signal, it was the perfect end to our Scottish van life series.

I've been around Charlie's other garden at home, so probably ought to get up there as well. Looked pretty cool though and great way to finish your trip. Hopefully following in some of your footprints in under 2 weeks now!

😂😂 it’s really easy! It’s the main carpark for the castle and you’ll clearly see, several bays marked motor homes, you can’t miss it.
