The Muscle Car Modeler
United States
Registrace 9. 06. 2019
I will be doing videos of my many model projects and showing many tips and tricks I have learned over the years. I am sharing my passion for building and restoring model cars. Many new and vintage rare kits! Many are previously built and torn down for restoration. Also many resin kits and parts along with some kit bashing to build a specific subject.
I focus mostly on stock Muscle Cars but anything that interests me can be shown here. So the occasional custom, 50's car or even an exotic car will appear. I will show videos of my finished builds along with current or stalled projects and even some in my stash of projects. Also my channel is not meant for kids. You have to be 18 to buy glue, spray paints and even razors. So while I consider my content kid friendly. The tips and things I use are meant for the adult modeler. I do want children to find this hobby and please enjoy it with adult supervision.
Thanks for checking my channel out and please enjoy it! Raoul

I always felt this kit needed fatter rear tires or even slicks
Great video. Built the original IMC issue of that Mustang when I was about 12. Got it together but it was the most challenging build I had complete at the time. Up there with the Orange Crate.
My son is 24. It seems like only a few days ago that he was Ryan's age. What happened?
They grow up so fast. He was just a new born! Really! The next build he wants me to do is the Speed Racer Mach V! Although he is less interested in models but he likes to be on the floor playing his Nintendo Switch next to me when I’m building. So we just talk. I’m good with that also!
I watched Vanishing Point at the drive in theater, sitting at the wheel of my 4 speed, 70 Dodge Challenger R/T
I would have gotten a speeding ticket leaving the drive inn! Cool memories!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I think the cops had a poster of it since it it was bright yellow, running 28” slicks and no exhaust. I learned a lot of back roads. You’re right, great memories. Thanks for your videos Raul.
I have one of the old 69 Camaro kits, you know how it comes with both head lights and options, on the option with Head light it is both head lights are one piece and the latest release of the kit the head lights are separate different designs from the kits
Yes and I have many of these kits. What I was talking about is the RS grill in the Z28 kit has no emblem in the grill. The RS grill in the Baldwin Motion and other kits have the SS emblem in the grill. Only the very first 69 Z28 kits have the grill I showed. The one with the RS emblem on it. It was a mistake and was quickly removed.
awesome stash adds.. .... have fun with them.. thx 4 sharing... vinny
Thanks, will do!
Nice haul but that was June - on to July!!!! Plastic model collecting - it's a disease....
It’s the other half of the hobby. Buying, dreaming about how you are going to build it one day!
HEY-DAR 👊😎👍 Geno Here: Nice Stash for your Stash 😄 I still have one of those Bigfoot models Unbuilt 🤗 Be Watching You, (MODEL CAR)🎭(MAN CAVE)

Awesome stash add 👍🏿

Nice stash adds!! 🤙🏼
Thanks! 👍
Nice haul. The vintage stuff you picked up is awesome. There is nothing wrong with picking something you already have. Thanks for sharing.
I remember going to the store with my parents. It was torture to only be able to pick one up. So I now have a hard time saying no when I find a deal even if I already have one!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I know the feeling. I was always limited to just one as well. I always think of that when I’m purchasing model kits. Fortunately, my wife understands.
When we got married, I played a lot of video games getting mad at the game. One time she got on me because if that is fun for me it sure doesn't look like it. She was right and I transitioned back into models as I had my stuff still. I transitioned slowly and started to build a stash. I found a show and a club and checked it all out. I joined the club and she got to meet others. This hobby has a lot of good people in it. My stash started to get to the point of it bothering her. She was talking with her best friend about it. Her friend pointed out that I'm always home and that she knows where the money is. Her husband liked to go to the sports bar and watch games and drink beer. Plus, unlike gaming and watching sports, I can stop at any time if needed. She has been very supportive since and even when I started this channel. Now the channel has grown to a point that it is now paying for my hobby and has been a great blessing even though it has its own challenges.
Nice adds! I just bought the Mustang concept car a couple of months ago myself.
Very cool!
Nice haul 👍👍
Thank you 😊
Great stash adds. I remember building Bigfoot as a kid as well.
Thanks! I played with mine a lot. Broke it a few times.
I have the Mustang Consept in my stash too an another Demon
Demon is actually a good kit!
Great stash adds! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice haul the big foot is a cool find.
Thanks 👍
Nice stash adds!! I recently got the new release of the 1963 Mustang II kit. I remember building this back sometime in the late 60's. I'm sure it was a glue bomb!!!
Thanks! I built a few glue bombs myself. One of my builds, the engine had so much glue inside it that the supercharger sagged into the engine eventually!
Nice stash. Im thinking about that mustang kit as well. I ordered a dual snorkel hood scoop from harts for my 71 demon kit
Thanks. Are you converting your Demon to a 72 also or doing something different?
@@TheMuscleCarModeler not sure yet
Some great adds to the stash!👍
I agree. Many of these I already have but just like to build them!
Another beautiful build! Love the white paint, love your chrome work!!! Never seen this film, I might have to watch it now
Thanks so much!
That Bigfoot kit is a good score!
Thanks!
Lots of great adds to the stash, good score on the 69'Z28 with the RS grille its hard to find them with that mistake as revell correctly that error pretty quickly.
You got that right! I have been keeping an eye out for one for years. Checked many open kits at swap meets. Bought a few sealed kits and opened them like this one and finally found one!
You lucky been trying to find a Bigfoot kit for years
Just great timing. I missed out on two recently. Years ago I got one that I mentioned was started and glass was glued in and was missing a few parts. I bought it for like $25 and ended up putting it on eBay and it sold for like $80. I was watching a few on eBay and this one was a buy it now for $149. And kit looked great. Saw a few others open/started and were $99. Watched one sell at that. Then the kit for $149. I got an alert that the seller was offering it but it now for $100. So I bought it. Just watched another that was still factory sealed. Was an actual auction with no buy it now. Started low and stalled at $83 until the last few moments. Sold for $195!
I just received that 1963 Mustang II kit myself. Hoping to watch a build video to pick up on any problems it may have.
Cool. I don’t plan to start mine anytime soon.
Nice stash adds . Have a great week!!
Thanks, you too!
You should do a video showing your painting and decaling techniques. They look fantastic.
Thanks. I have done a few but not in a while.
Beautiful build. I built one to several years ago and am re-doing it to exact standards.
Cool. This one I want to fix a few things on.
A few days ago, I watched all of the videos for this build of yours. You’re giving me ideas on how I could build my next Revell ‘77 Smokey and the Bandit T/A project. Thank You.
Have fun! Thanks!
Listen to the voices! Unfurl your sail and go where the winds of inspiration blow you.
LOL!
The car’s that they used in the movie where probably some that couldn’t be sold to the public more than likely they were pre production car’s
I agree that they were not in sellable condition.
Looking great! Can't wait till it's done. Working on mine, I hope it come's out as nice as yours is. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks, will do! Enjoy yours!
Would you happen to know if a model of the 2006 mustang was built
Revell did do one. www.ebay.com/itm/315490857837
@TheMuscleCarModeler I've had no luck, do you have a extra one for sale , trying to replicate one for a friend who has one
No, I don't have one, but that eBay link is for sale.
Awesome build, great job. I would like to build one or two of this kit as the Vanishing point Challenger. I like the movie remake better than the original, which is rare for me because i usually like the original movie's. I think it would be cool to build a Challenger from the original movie and do another one like the remake movie car. I have seen 2 of the movie cars from the Vanishing Point remake. Pretty cool to see 👍😎
Thank you. I have been tempted to build the Hemi car from the remake also and do it a bit dirty. I haven’t decided. My next build of this tool will be a convertible. Either a 440 Six Pack shaker car or a Hemi without shaker. None of the 9 factory Hemi convertible’s received the optional shaker hood.
I really prefer the hood as you've done it. Does the AMT special edition USPS Tin include that hood, or only the open hood/hood scoop? Scalemates only shows an image from the rear.
I have the tin version and it has both RT hoods. One with hole and one without.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ok, I had bypassed it, not knowing that, but now I'll have to go back on the hunt for one.
I can tell you are having a lot of fun with this build. I am excited to see the finished result. I have never been too big of a fan of customs, but they really have been growing on me lately. I would love to find a bottle of that Oldsmobile Engine Gold that you used for the pinstripes separating the two colors since I am getting ready to build the Amt 64 Oldsmobile kits, both the hardtop and convertible, and I haven't found a good paint for the engines just yet. I understand they are not great kits with them being old screw bottom tools and all, but I still see a lot of potential in them and looking forward to building them.
Thanks. That paint is from Scale Finished. He has engine colors but use the primer under them and they are air brush only. I have those kits also and plan to keep the chassis. I don’t mind the screw bottom kits myself.
Very nice build. Great work to get all of the parts from various kits in one mesh together. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍. This one wasn’t too bad for that but some of that is experience. I put the same 440 but kept the automatic trans in my resin body 70 Challenger RT/SE.
Nice build! Looks realistic👍
Thanks! 👍
Excellent build!
Thanks!
"possibly supercharged" is the line. I'm not a model builder but this came up in my feed. I have owned a white '70 Challenger and still own a '14 Challenger that is also white.
Thanks and very cool!
From what I read the 383 car was green all the other were white, the reference to supercharging was a cop speculating about the car. A cool car to do speaking of Challengers would be a 1972 convertible that was done for The Mod Squad it was 1 of 2 because the convertible was dropped at the end of 71 but they were getting cars ready for the 72 season of The Mod Squad. Basically they took a 1971 340 convertible and put a 72 nose and tail treatment on it. Finished in classic Gold Metallic with beautiful matching interior and Black convertible top. I guess sort of like the Barracuda for Nash Bridges there was a combination of 70 cars converted to be 71 as well as real 71 cars also convertibles.
It was a 440 4 speed car that was green painted white.
It is unknown what cars were what colors originally. Or if any of them came white from Dodge.
I would be interested to know how they were equipped from Dodge and if they just went to a dealer and picked up 5 off the lot and Dodge took care of the dealer. As for the Mod Squad car. I don’t have any plans to build that one or the 72 Barracuda convertible that appeared on The Brady Bunch.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ...I do not know how many were white. Hard to say. Back then was just car rentals to show their products.
Great build!! Growing up, I was a die-hard chevy guy....but after watching Vanishing Point, I got interested in Dodge & Plymouth musel cars.
Right on! I was raised Ford myself. I love them all but Mopars are my favorite.
Sweet build. You’re one of my favourite builders. You demonstrate a high bar of building, that can be achieved with sheer patience, without spending a ton of cash 👍👍👍
Wow, thank you! While I do like wiring, photo etch and resin parts. I don’t believe every build should have them or has to be better than the last build.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I like the photo etch, wiring, and resin as well. But like you said, not every build has to have them. When you do add them, they compliment your already outstanding builds.
The '70 Dodge Challenger is one of my favorite muscle cars and you really did an excellent job both building and painting your AMT '70 Vanishing Point Dodge Challenger R/T, Raoul!
Thanks 👍
Another great looking build, out of what looks to be not a great kit. Great work, again! Thanks!
Thanks! I like the kit but it does have some challenges. I wouldn’t recommend this one for the beginner.
Nice job on this one, Raoul. Even though it’s “only white.” I loved the Camaro at the end, too. They didn’t mind smashing the Challengers up, but I guess they didn’t want to destroy one. Nice job on the roof. Oh, Raoul?
Thanks.
I watched that’ movie, at a Drive In as a kid back in the early seventies. Your video has stirred up my interest in seeing it again. I remember it being a good movie, and your video brought up a lot of cool things about it. I’m gonna see if I can watch it tonight. 👍
Very cool.
Makes me want to watch the movie! :)
LOL!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ... Seen the movie 100 plus times. Loved it. The only thing is that it did not have hood pins. I am sure you know that. Besides that, you put a lot of time and did a nice work of ART.
Nope. I completely missed that. All that time staring at pictures! LOL! The hood hole was filled in before I had a plan on what to build. Well, I still have white paint, two more hoods with holes to fill and a few more sets of extra 71 Charger decals. So, I will make another hood. for this build and get another hood ready for the Hemi Challenger Convertible that is planned.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ...Good for you.
It looks amazing. I didn’t know this Challenger model kit will look great in white 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It does! Thanks!
"Every bone in her crotch - that's what I'm gonna break!" - Crazy Larry ;) When I first saw Vanishing Point - Charlotte Rampling was not in it. Both movies were as iconic as Two Lane... Super Soul mentioned a Supercharger - probably referring more to what Kowalski was on than to what was under the hood. Another fantastic build, there - you nailed it like normal. Two Dozers, er - Thumbs up!
Thanks. It came out great!
