- After checking out my score of vintage MPC 1968 and 1968 Coronet RT parts. I stripped the body's in Super Clean and also a little 91% isopropyl alcohol. I can now see what I have and compare with my other rebuild projects.

The bodies came out looking really good after soaking in the pond. Enjoy building them up.
Thank you!
Love your enthusiasm for these old kits. Fun to watch and learn
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying this.
The 68-69 Coronet look so much better than the 70, at least to my eyes. I say, make a mold and cast those wheels. I’m sure these will turn out awesome!
Thank you. I really like the 69 Super Bee! The only thing on the 69 Coronet RT that I find odd but don’t hate is the center tail light.
Nice collection of parts. Those rebuilders stripped down very well. You should be able to build some nice models. Thanks for sharing.
They should build up nice. Thanks!
They stripped nice. Looking good!!
Thanks!
I like the 68-70 Coronets too. A neighbor in my youth had a really beautiful electric blue Coronet 440. I've been building a few Coronets - a '68 convertible and a '70 Super Bee. I have the newly reintroduced '68 Coronet R/T hardtop (with trailer) in my stash.
Very cool! Enjoy them!
I put a six pack on my convertible and a Hemi in my hardtop! It's great having parts from older kits extras.
Very cool! Can't wait to see these come together.
Thanks!
Nice. They stripped pretty damn good. Like your plans for them!
Thanks.
Sounds as if You are set to GO! Those are some super nice rebuilders You have there Raul! it will be most interesting to see Your progress on the trio! I find the gathering of parts and the planning stages of a kit build just as rewarding as the actual build, well, almost. I am looking forward to seeing Your work on these. thank You for sharing with Us. Take Care, be Safe, God Bless, Later
I enjoy the hunt as well. That may be why I have so many rebuilders that have gathered all the parts, chrome redone and parts stripped and ready to build. Then I get stuck on what color and how to build it!
The more correct resin top-down boot is likely from Missing Link Resin. It’s meant for AMT kits such as the ‘70 Coronet Super Bee, etc.
It’s actually from Harts Parts resin along with the hood. It’s meant for the AMT 68/69 Roadrunner/GTX kits. I bought it at the same time as the Ramcharger hood.
Cool coronets
Thank you!
Lookin good
Thanks!
Those "custom mag wheels" are Cragar GT. 1-piece cast aluminum wheels. As oposed to the much more common Cragar SS that were a cast steel center welded into a stamped and rolled steel rim, then chrome plated. In the 60s, the GTs were bare aluminum polished onlyaround the rim, never plated. But they cost more and were much lighter weight.
I have the Cragar GTs on one of my original MPC 69 SuperBees in my display case. The white one with blue SuperBee stripes and a flat black stock hood. The other one is orange with no stripes and a cross ram intake and hood scoop and Cragar S/S all around.
Oh...BTW. I think you said the Revell 68 Dart is 1/24 so the hubcaps are too big. They may be a little big, but the Dart kits are 1/25 according to the boxes.
Thanks. Yes the Revell Dart kits are listed as 1/25 on the boxes but they are more like 1/24. You put them next to any AMT 1/25 Mopar and it stands out a bit. I love the kit and the size really does not bother me but it shows when I try to use the hubcaps on the MPC kits. The wheels look like 16” wheels.
Great video.i would love to do the 69 and 70 Coronet RT that resin sight you told me about has some great trans kit parts
Thanks. Yes they do.
this was a really enjoyable video. thanks for making it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice 😁
Thanks!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler your welcome 😁
Nice projects. Can't wait to see what you make of them. Also I know you've done the resin casting thing before but what do you use now adays? I can't find the old kits anymore. Thanks for sharing.
I recently bought some Smooth-On. It’s has been awhile since I have used it.
Thanks, I'll have to look that up. I liked the Alumilite kits but the have a shelf life. Probably why it's not carried anymore.
Hey man been a while since I’ve been here I’m gonna build mine like how I’m gonna do my real 68 coronet 500 so Hemi orange black tail stripes but I’m gonna put a supercharger on from the F&F doms charger kit that I’m doing FK5 Burnt Orange with the hilborn injection stacks from the 68 coronet convertible kit
My real one has jegs 5 stars but model kit wise I like the drag wheels it came with especially after painting the lower parts in the spokes black
My new hardtop one is missing a header half
Sounds like a cool build. Both the model and real one!
i think i have 2 loose shelby style mags like the 3 you have,,, if u need one ?
I would be interested.
