Revell did an excellent job with these kits! Looking forward to more variations 👍
So am I!
Good comparison video. I am working on the AMT 007 Mustang now, and have the Revell Boss 351 kit with the white box art in my stash. The Revell kit is far and away the better engineered and detailed kit.
It sure is but that is because of being engineered recently and not retooled from the MPC 67-69 Mustang kits.
Very nice side by side comparison of the two kits. I knew there would be differences, but the number of differences is neat. I cannot believe they left the rear spoiler out of the 429 car. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Great comparison video. This should help everyone decide which car they want to build.
Thank you!
Great info Raoul!! I was going to swap the base wheels and tires for the Magnum 500 wheels and tires from the Boss 351 kit for my Mach 1, but I’m just going to go with what comes in the Mach 1 kit.
As always, your kit comparisons are THE standard for the entire hobby!
Thanks. I hope it helps.
These 2 kits are really great kits. Revell really did a nice job on these.
They did.
*King* of the Comparison videos. Much Appreciated. I have the '69 Maro vid Bookmarked. lol gotta look at One More time figuring out the SS 350 Vert rebuilder I just bought for parts. The black paint Polished up very nice. Too Good for parts now. LOL I am looking now for the Three AAR Series Racing Autos, Cuda, Boss 302 & a Penske '69 Camaro to add to my Display. Thanks Again for these types of Videos.
Thanks! Glad that they are useful!
Thanks for the comparison, it looks like Revell did their homework on these two cars. All we need is some “steel” valve covers for the 351 to make a “Q” code Mach 1. Of course, you could build a ‘72 351 HO with what we have here. Sabledriver here on my new channel. Again, thanks for the content!
I believe that they did!
Great comparison, thanks for sharing the info, both look like nice kits!
Thanks.
I have both of these built the BOSS and have not yet opened the Bond kit, was surprised the wheels were not plated.. Great comparison.
Thanks. Enjoy building the Bond kit!
Great comparison! Makes you wonder what other options they'll make. I'm thinking a 73. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. They showed a flat hood and 73 grill parts in the test shots, so they are coming.
Great comparison! Thanks so much for putting it together.
Glad you liked it!
I enjoy your videos very much. Ive mentioned on my channel that you are a living encyclopedia of model and real cars. Great comparison as always! Except I'm mad at you for encouraging Frank to start a channel! That guy is making me do more work on a kit that i have ever done lol! Both you guys are awesome.
I appreciate that! Enjoy the build and don’t get caught up in outdoing yourself.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler actually I like challenging myself to do better.
Nothing wrong with that.
Thanks for sharing this info.
My pleasure
Nice kit comparison. My problem is, I like Mustang's, so I would build both😄
You and me both!
I also have both kits, hoping for a version with a plain hood so I can do Bob Perkins '71 Boss 302 prototype.
Revell did show a flat hood and also a 73 grill on Facebook years ago during development hinting an Eleanor version.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler That would be perfect... two birds with one stone! My first car was a '73 Mach 1, swap hoods and kit bash the other parts... done. Boss 302 decals will be the hard part.
Time will tell!
Also, It look like Rays Kits Decals offers the 1971 Boss 302 ones! rayskits.com/product/1971-ford-mustang-boss-302-prototype/
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Perfect, thanks! Magstar wheels and an extra Boss 302 engine I already have.
Great Video!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
thanks for this really interesting video !
Glad you liked it!
Love the kit comparison videos 👍, lets us modeler's know what kits to buy to build the car's we want,Thanks!!
You got it!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Good to know the differences ive been wondering if it was worth it getting the mach 1 now i know it is thanks
Glad I could help!
Hi,just wondering for the mach 1 version what would be the best way to do the hub cap wheel covers?.alclad chrome or alclad polished aluminum,or?.just thought I would ask since I like your builds and you have alot of experience.thanks...
I’m not sure myself. I wasn’t planning on using those wheels. I was just going to try and cover them with Bare Metal Foil or try the Revell Chrom Spray.
i wonder if you could contact revell and request replacement parts trees for use in the other model ? even if you had to pay for shipping it would be worth it
Shipping from Germany may be more for a small tree than buying another kit. You can email them the request and see what happens. Last time I tried was in 2019 when the 87 Buick GN/GNX kit was rereleased and I asked for a set of decals. They did send them at no charge.
There was a yellow Mustang kit that came out it was bad, sorry I even bought the thing.
That is the old MPC kit. Its tooling actually dates back to the 67 Annual. It’s well worn out and has been modified so many times. You really can’t compare the two kits.
ok, after that review ...... now I'd like to see the Revell and AMT versions of the Mach1 side-by-side. Are the stripe decals different in the two kits? I don't care for the wheels in the Revell kit you showed here, so does the AMT have better wheels and the white wall tires?
Here is my first review of the New Revell Boss 351 kit compared to the MPC and later AMT kits. I show the MPC Boss 351 in great detail and the updates for the newer Mach1 kits. czcams.com/video/JT890Eh-Uo8/video.htmlsi=LQWXHDUHx7HXnHqw
Both kits are 1/25 and the body's are really close in actual size also so I think the decals with interchange with little problems. I just don't like how AMT did the Mach1 stripes in either kit. Plus, other than the wheels being chrome and a little deeper, I don't think they are much better.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Thanks for the direct link. Looks like I should avoid the 007 car(s) from both companies, and get the AMT Mach1 with yellow car on box. That one has the side stripe decal missing on the 007, and a better wheel option. I have the new Revell Boss 351, and wanted to pair it up with a Mach1 as I remember it, not particularly the modified movie car. Thanks again. I now have a plan.
Both the AMT 71 Mach1's have the same wheels. Just molded in different colors, different decals and tires are different.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I thought I saw two sets of wheels in chrome on the yellow car kit, and one set of wheels and one set of wheel COVERS on the 007.
If only they'll do a coupe
Maybe but doubtful. Parts that Revell did show that have not made it into a kit yet is a 73 version.
I don’t think James Bond would be driving a Mustang anyway he only drove European cars
Not always. Many times he grabbed a car or was driving someone else’s car. He drove a 69 Cougar convertible in On her majesty’s secret service, but my favorite is the AMC Hornet that he jumped in The man with the golden gun.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I’m sure your right was not much of a Bond fan and I’m 68yrs. I thought he was driving mostly expensive European cars, my bad 😀
Mostly he does and the ones with all the gadgets are European models. But they have put some in. I’m not much of a bond fan but have seen just about all the movies.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler cool 👍🏻 I enjoy your channel, thanks
