excellent show as always chris. i like alot of the over the top detail and prep that seems to be the norm these days, but your build style is more of the standard root of the hobby which makes it very meaningful in so many ways! you build up some really nice stuff everytime. less is more. thank you chris
@15:27 im glad you pointed out the template in the manual / Instruction booklet step 15 ...I didnt realize it could be used for that so cudos for pointing that out . This is a prime example of how this community can be so helpful and im am appreciative of you and all other builders in it that take the time to point stuff out and give us these helpful hints to make our projects a little easier to make it to the finish line.
Instant karma car story - 1969 Boss 302, BRAND NEW, bought by our boss - MISTER jerk. He drove it to work right from the dealership. Then drove FOUR more of us (tight fit- 302 means "THREE not TWO MORE"). After work his car wouldn't start. He's an airplane mechanic who knows it all. So he takes off the plug wires, the cap and all the plugs. (yea, it had used up that 2 gallons of gas the dealer had miserly put in). One tow truck and five days later, with a healthy repair bill to boot, he got his car back - running. His was medium metallic green. Another diorama. You are THE most inspirational model builder on the internet. Thank you for sharing...
I just got this kit yesterday from Amazon- sooo soo looking forward to it! Can't thank ya enough for the kit walk around and build. It gives me an idea of what to expect and look forward to!!
I took advantage of my sign making items, scanned that hood template, and cut the hood black out of flat black vinyl, making sure it's the right size. It actually came out really well and was easy to apply. Yours is gorgeous!
thanks for this build! I had this kit in my hands at Micheal's yesterday- Now I know what to look forward to for my next car kit This kit is a real beauty, and you made it look so effortless! :)
Chris, you did a great job on the '69 Boss 302 Mustang. Also, excellent paint colors too. I really enjoy your model reviews. Great job, at the craft of modeling.
I've been using this video as a point of reference for my build of the earlier issue Mach 1 Cobra Jet Kit from the '90s (since it's basically the same kit). I am bashing in some parts from the 302 kit, including the front clip since it's better modeled in this kit than it was in the original Cobra kit. Also using the decals, Magnum 500 wheels and the rear window louvers from this kit since I like them so much. When it's done it's going to be a full detail build up of my favorite Mustang, built exactly to my spec. I've watched this video multiple times to advise my own build, and it's really been a huge help!
Extremely well done Chris, excellent color choice! Keep them coming! I have be singing the praises of your You Tube channel to the members of my model club, MAMA! And advancing the use of cheaper spray paints and acrylic craft paints! You-da-man!!!!
I always enjoy the kit reviews, Chris. I like your build description of all types of models from automotive, aircraft, ships and military. I build mainly automotive subjects these days. I understand your desire to replicate vinyl upholstery by using floor polish. For me, the end result is sometimes too glossy. I prefer to cover Testors or Tamiya flat black lacquer with Testors semi-gloss aerosol spray. I am impressed with your successful use of inexpensive spray paints. My favorite moment is when you do the big reveal and display the finished model. You do the model kit justice with a very clean build. Your video presentation gives your viewers enough information to make informed purchase decision. I believe your excellent videos will help to inspire younger modelers and keep our fun hobby alive. I salute the way you share the plastic modeling hobby.
Well said Stephen Miller.I would rather see kids building and creating "Happy little accidents" than playing video games or having their faces buried in their phones and vr headsets any day!.One of the reasons the hobby is so expensive these days is because not enough people are buying plastic model kits because of the OPEC monopoly and the Eurasian plastic model kit monopoly. If Revell America,Mobius Models, and Round 2 Models builds and opens more plastic model kit factories in America,we will have more domestic purchasing power than we currently have right now.The solution is simple:put tarrifs on the Eurasian plastic model kit monopoly, and tarrifs on the OPEC countries, drill for the oil we have in America, bring back the American plastic model kit manufacturers, and we will see the MSRP for American manufactured plastic model kits in America drop to levels not seen in decades.
Beautifully done! I definitely going to use some of your techniques. Im in the process of doing the same model and just so happened to do a similar blue. Yours looks great, I hope mine turns out half as good!
Been viewing your videos for a short while and decided to sub to your channel. You provide a very thorough review of kits with excellent photography and presentation . You provide a a very valuable service to the modeling community . Keep up the great work and enthusiasm ! Billy V.
That came out Awesome! I have an Original Monogram 70 Boss Mustang kit! Molded in Orange! Not as Detailed as the new 69 Boss ! Slight differences! This one has the Big Block 429! I'll have to pick up the 69 now!
Great build. The funny thing about the headlight buckets is that they never fit right on the real thing, so you build is spot on. Thanks for sharing. Gary
How do you flat coat/ pick out the centers of your wheels? Your videos are great! I finally got smooth paint with spray cans thanks to your truck with the heat gun!
It came out really nice! I missed the last release of Revell's '69 Mustang, so I've been itching to see how it goes together, thanks for the build-up, I really enjoyed this one (I enjoy all of your builds, bu tthi sone epsecially, LOL) B)
I also did a blue! Mine has an undercoat of tamiya flat blue, a coat of midnight blue with a touch of white, and I finished it off with a tamiya clear blue and a gloss topcoat!
Great video! I've always liked Mustangs.I know you've done videos on a couple of military bike kits but I'd love to see you do a build of a sport motorcycle kit. Maybe one from Tamiya or Aoshima. They always go together well and look great. Thanks again for another awesome video!
Excellent work, I really enjoyed your build. The Boss 302 is one of my favorite Mustangs. I just subbed your channel and am looking forward to checking out more builds. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. Jeff
Glad to see this kit build as i just got it.like the color choice its refreshing on a car like this yet era correct at the same time. I too would love to see the 68 build...im gonna get that one asap if i still can i thought it looked like a great kit too.
Awesome job 👍 I also use black primer to paint if it's going to stay black I give it a flat clear and it looks good. If I want a little shine I'll use that polish.
To quote you "man is it sweet" good job. I got a few to slap together will use some of your tips if you want to show how to use the future floor polish on seats and windows would be great.
Great model build. Great model. I will be building this in honor of a friend who passed away, Tom Martin, who had one in high school. RCH45ACP mentioned matte black vs black. Back then, the decals were applied after the car left the paint booth. So, a clear coat (did they even clear coat back then?) would not be over decals. My friend's Boss 302 'stang had the hood/louvres/stripe detail matte while all of the other paint was always shiny. Love your wheels, and the attention to undercarriage shows your love of modelling!!!! Great job.
Looks phenomenonal....as always! Even if being a huge....H-U-G-E Mopar fan, I still love Ford and GM and 1969 was, a damn good year in car design!....a good year to be born in! Think that I'm gonna have to do '69 shelf....Charger, Super Bee, Road Runner, GTX, Dart, Barracuda, Camaro, Mustang etc., etc....oh how I wish that I had the dough for the real ones....and space!! Looking forward to the next video good buddy! 👍🏻🍻
Another beautiful build. Do you sand between coats of your paint job. How do you prevent orange peel ? Do you scrap paint off before glueing? I use Bob Smith super glues and even with them do not stick well to paint. Thanks.
I really liked this one. Great color, nice detail, and I like the two tone stripe as well. I also like your circle track car builds that have all the chassis detail. Any midget racers in your inventory? Those things are tiny fun.
I did the original Boss 302 Mustang. The grille and around the taillights came in chrome with a different decal package. The front and rear spoilers on those cars were a flat black. I also did the short bed, 4 x4 square body with the plow. I saw that you did the camo truck and the stepside version. I would love to show you how mine turned out.
For anything that needs to be chrome or silver I use a sharpie silver color it’s a fine point and thick so it’s nice for bolts and larger things like the exhaust makes it look like chrome
The two tone stripe on hood does look sweet. The decal stripes on outer edge appear to be flat black while painted stripe in center appears to be semi or gloss black. I've been looking around for one, always a fave of mine. Hoping to see the old Monogram one come back out, built that as a kid. Fun but not as involved as the Tamiya or Fujimi ones.
great build,i love your videos, only issue is i cant get a lot of those kits in the uk,especialy this boss mustang which i love.keep up the good work dude.

I'll have to add this one to my bucket list. Love Mustangs!
This Boss 302 looks great, especially the dash!!!!! Love the paint color choice as blue is my favorite color. How about building up the 1970 Buick GSX model from Revell-Monogram??
excellent show as always chris.

Thanks! I figured a lot of folks would be doing theirs in yellow too, and wanted to pick a metallic this time.

It's literally as simple as brushing it on and letting it dry. Once it reaches the level of gloss you want, stop adding coats.
Damn Chris, that thing is awesome! Super build one of my favorites.k.u.t.g.w.buddy.
